What an amazing book. I have read previous books by the author and this one certainly didn’t disappoint.

The storyline kept me entertained from the first to the last page.

If there’s anything studying literature and linguistics will teach you, it’s to appreciate a well-executed multi-perspective story. This one is a couple of steps above well-executed. Within the span of 24 hours, these Shauna, George, Tom and Chrissie’s paths will cross, their stories will meet and – as it turns out: it really is a small world after all.
There are few things as difficult as making sure that every loose thread of a multi-level story gets tied up at the end. Making sure that the tone for each of the characters is distinct enough that as a reader, you don’t even need the name on top to know who you’re reading? That’s a gift not too many people have.
I honestly loved every single thing about this book. I loved the strong friendship between Shauna and Lulu. I love their willingness to do something that most people would – rightly so – call a bit crazy. I loved Chrissie and the way her friends of all ages pushed her to go beyond what she dared to do. And that she actually took on that chance, that she was willing to look back to the past to be able to face the future. Also – her son? The cutest smart-mouth I’ve read in a while.
I love George and the back story of him and his two sisters, in this totally different world and time. For someone so near to death, he really did have a lot to say. And considering some rather important conversations took part on his bedside? I’m quite happy he turned out to be such a good listener. And then there’s Tom who, in the span of 24 hours, has his world turned up side down more times than most people could handle in a year. He just takes it all in stride – somewhat, at least – and still manages to hand out maybe the most satisfying type of punch: the warranted one. A thing which definitely shows, as you’ll learn in this book as well, that he takes after his grandfather.
With Christmas running in the background, as a decoration, as a motivation, but never as a plot point? This was maybe the best winter book I’ve read so far, this year.

Rating 4/5

This is a sweet read on love lost and love found in many ways. Lots of characters were involved in this story and each had their own story that didn't clash with another. The writing of this shows the time and dedication the author put into it, adjusting each POV so that you understood the importance of each person and what they had to tell. A quick, great read for those of you not too big on romance and who want to enjoy a book on life and it's lessons.

Shauna's discovery of a packet of old letters sets off a chain of tales that weave among each other until the end, when you realize how entranced you've been by this novel. Low has a knack for writing characters who want to heal old wounds. In this case, George, Tom, and Chrissie all have to overcome their secrets and pull it together. Shauna and Lulu are lovely people. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC, I read this as a standalone and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved this. Fast-paced, and not overwhelmingly Christmassy for the sake of it, it's a heart warming tale of families, relationships and forgiveness. Easy to read and a real page turner, I couldn't put it down as the stories of Shauna, Chrissie, Tom, and their families unravels. Highly recommended, and perfect to curl up with on the sofa with a hot drink and a blanket.

A great cast of characters! Christmas in Glasgow sounds so beautiful and cozy—Would be a great book to read on a cold, wet, winter day next to a fire.

Shauna’s point of view broke my heart at the beginning, but as the story moved I felt the growth and understanding she was experiencing and it made the hurt not so bad.

These characters are easy to get invested in!

Another Day In Winter by Shari Low is a five star read that will warm you on a cold day. I have read and loved One day in December so I was excited to get my hands on this one Although it wasn’t as good, it was still brilliant in its own right and made me feel so many different emotions. This author has a great way of bringing so many characters in and giving you so many stories, it could easily get confusing. Somehow Shari Low manages to keep you hooked and understanding you get enough detail to know the story and the characters. Each time the characters interact they reveal another detail of the story and makes you fall more in love with each of them. The story is essentially told over a 24-hour period but the back stories go back years and each story is more compelling and heart-warming than the last, some characters you will like more than others but overall a great bunch of people you will adore. I will highly recommend this book to everyone. Thank you to Netgalley and Avia Books for the chance to read this amazing novel

A beautifully written story. I laughed and cried the whole way through. This is a story about friendship, family, love and forgiveness. There are a lot of wonderful characters packed into this book. It was lovely reading about their lives and their coming together. This book works perfectly well as a standalone alone. I have not read the first book in this series yet. All the characters are introduced and the story of their lives told. I would definitely recommend this book. It is a perfect Christmas read. Or anytime read!

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

I have found my new favourite author. Shari Low instantly captures your attention from the start with a few characters that you get to follow their story over 24 hours. Some of their stories link towards the end, It reminds me of reading a book of a film in the style of 'Love Actually' . Just wonderful and cosy and I was even reading through tears at some parts of the book. I am off now to read the authors other books - just love them and the characters she creates are very easy to identify with.

I love Shari Low and this book is just fantastic! It tells the story of several characters who meet up at various points over 24 hours on a winters day, with all their lives being changed in different ways. The Glasgow setting is fabulous and extremely familiar, I love being able to picture where the characters are and the action is set! It is great to revisit familiar and well loved characters who we have been introduced to in previous books, but this book can definitely be read as a stand alone. Funny, touching, heartbreaking and ultimately life affirming, Shari certainly knows how to tell a story and to leave me wanting more. Can't wait for her next book.

How can so much happen in just one day?
Shauna journeys to Glasgow in an attempt to find estranged members of her family in this beautifully told heart breaking story of family rifts.
The characters are cleverly crafted with a mix of comic, obnoxious, charming and friendly.
The main story is told over twenty four hours but the background stories are much older.
A delicately woven story with some memorable characters.

A day of misunderstandings, secrets and lies!

After the death of her nan, Shauna discovers some old letter from the 1950's, she decides to go in search of any family that she may not have known about... this journey takes her to a mission.
George is dying; he wants is to put right mistakes he made in the past.
Tom is George's grandson who last saw the love of his life at age 18, he finds out she's back in the area and his world is turned upside down.
Chrissie is a single mum who has had it hard, but after 12 years she's looking to date again, that is until a face from her past makes an appearance in her life.

A hilarious at times story of lost love and reconciliation.

Thank-You Netgalley for my ARC.

Another excellent book by Shari Low, it has a great storyline with well developed characters, a story of lost love and reconciliation which was an entertaining read.

I love Shari Low books and this one didn’t disappoint. A lovely read with a couple of linked characters and interwoven stories. Shauna goes in a mission to find any living relatives after the death of her grandma Annie, together with her friend Lulu. A previous book tells of Sauna’s life. George is dying in hospital, and his grandson Tom finds out the love of his life who he last saw at 18 is in the area; and Chrissie is about to go on her first date in 12 years. The inclusion of Val and Josie from previous books is brilliant, and hilarious, and references to Sun, Sea, Ski reminds you of previous tales. Read as many of Shari’s books as you can, and devour this one too.
