Love that Murray family! This book is about a man accused of a crime he did not commit, and loses everything, and the rough road to gain it all back. A great read, and good news the Murrays keep on coming! |

James has been hiding for 3 years, trying to think of a way to get his property and daughter back from his wife's evil cousin. Being accused of her death, and labeled an outlaw, he has to be careful. Getting into the castle, and pretending to be a wood carver, he gets to know Annora, who is the nursemaid to his little 5 year old daughter Meggie. Overall I liked the book. and wanted to see through to the end. At times though, the brogue was hard to read, the accent was thick, and the different creepy guys got old after awhile. Skimmed at times since I have trouble reading about rapes or abuse of women, but fit with the characters. Would recommend this book and author. |

The waiting was the worse. We knew what was going to happen, but the timing was just never right it seems. Then Bam! Even though Annora is not a Lady born, she sure does have the act down. So it is no surprise that James is drawn to her. |

James and Annora’s story, 15th in The Murray's Series, is a standalone HEA love story with lots of sizzle, action (very violent at times) and intrigue. I thoroughly enjoyed the romance between James and Annora, the action and the supporting cast of characters. Hannah Howell has the ability to pull you into her story and characters’ lives and keeps you engaged until the end, ready for the next story. James Drummond has been in hiding for 3 years, searching for proof of his innocence of a crime he didn’t commit and regain his birthright. Annora MacKay is trying to protect herself and James’ daughter from the mechanizations of evil men. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for my honest opinion. |

Great story! Loved the main characters! The story was unique and I really liked the historical background. Overall a good story, I would recommend! |
You can't go wrong with a Hannah Howell book. Wonderful historical detail, interesting characters and plenty of action. A definite 4 star book by one of my all-time favorite authors. |
What a love story! James and Annora very quickly recognize their attraction for each other, starting a passionate relationship amidst the intrigue and danger of Scottish castle life. James recaptures his home and their love shines intensely. Another wonderful book from Hannah Howell! |

I was given an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review. The love story was cute, but the real appeal of the story is the history lesson. I feel like I learned a lot about a time not often written about in these stories. A little more wit could’ve helped but its still 3.5 rounded up |
Great book. So much mystery and anguish what these two go through to get through life and come out the other side. After all he loses and gains in the end is brilliant. Karma |
