'Some lessons a person had to learn for themselves and not from hearing the experiences of others.'

Jessica Mason is still suffering from the totally unexpected death of her husband and young daughter and now, a pregnant widow, who is also suffering from her husband's betrayal, she is trying to come to terms with the pain of the life she must now lead. Ridley Chesterfield has come to Hope Springs to get away from a political scandal and just wants to heal. He trusts God to get him through this. Jessica wonders where God is.

Interspersed throughout with snippets from the notes in her great grandfather's Bible, Jessica is feeling to pull on her heart to trust God again. Neither Jessica nor Ridley expects love at this point in their lives. But these two broken people, both having no reason to trust another person again, realize that putting their trust in God also means that He will give them the strength to trust others again.

I have been a Robin Lee Hatcher fan for many hears. I always will be. She writes deeply emotional stories that grab the reader's heart and draws them in completely. I highly recommend this one.

I really enjoyed getting to know Ridley and Jessica in this book. I especially liked the strong theme of forgiveness throughout this book. And while I'm not a fan of time slip novels, I enjoyed the contemporary part of this one enough to make up for it.

There is a lot of grief in this book. I felt especially for Jessica in this story because she'd lost so much and was grieving both in a physical loss, but also an emotional loss as well. I was really thrilled when she was able to start getting her life back. I loved that she had friends that were so supportive. I really liked Ridley though. His grief was not near as strong, but I still believe he was grieving parts of his life he'd lost. I was really impressed with his ability to move on after such difficulties.

I loved the importance of prayer in this book too. I love how many of the characters turned to prayer before they turned to other people. But I did also like that they sought out friends and family in difficult times too.

I'm looking forward to what comes next in this series.

This is a split-time romance that reveals the stories behind hand-written entries in a family Bible that’s passed down through generations of a family. As Jessica struggles with tragic situations her life, she finds comfort and faith as she reads the notes in the Bible from her great-grandfather, Andrew. We also follow Andrew’s story as he struggles to hold his family together during the Depression. Ridley is dealing with forgiveness toward those who have unfairly accused him of betrayal. As Jessica and Ridley’s paths cross, they find strength In helping each other through faith and friendship. This is a heart-tugging story of love and loss that turns into faith and a hope for the future.

I enjoyed reading this clean, sweet, well-written story.

I was given a reading copy, in exchange for an honest review. Who I Am With You, was easy to get into. Jessica is filled with grief, when her grandmother dies, and is still in shock, from dealing with a secret she hasn't shared with anyone.
Ridley comes to a small town in Idaho, running away from a political mess he got tangled in, the last thing he expects is to find friendship and possibly love.
There are two stories in one book, one set in present day and the other in the depression years.
I visited Idaho for the first time last summer and loved that this book was set there.

This was a sweet, comfortable story. Fans of Richard Paul Evans or Nicholas Sparks will enjoy this book. Two stories told, one present and other during the Great depression. The great grandparent's story of their marriage stressed the importance of a biblical foundation by referencing passages in the Bible. Both Jessica and Ridley's story and great grandparent's story dealt with loss, betrayal and forgiveness. Very enjoyable! Recommended!

My Thoughts: I was smitten by the concept and the cozy remote setting. There's a dual-timeline story taking place here so the reader can learn more about her grandfather whose Bible she's now reading. His portion of the story was my favorite.
While I did feel like the conversations and personalities in the contemporary portion of the story was rather dull, I did highly appreciate Hatcher's attention to spiritual matters. She used Scripture in a natural way. And her message on ultimate forgiveness in spite of adultery was inspiring and very well done.

Rating and Recommendation: I'd recommend it to Christian fiction fans, especial those who enjoy dual-timeline or contemporary. I'm giving it 3.5 stars.

Jessica Mason isn’t looking for love when she meets Ridley Chesterfield. Instead she is still reeling from the tragic, unexpected loss of her husband and daughter—and awaiting the arrival of her unborn child. Harboring the secret of her husband’s betrayal, her pain is deeper than anyone knows.
Ridley Chesterfield is hiding out in Hope Springs, Idaho, avoiding a political scandal and the barrage of false media headlines that have tarnished his good name. The last thing Ridley wants is a relationship—but when fate leads Ridley to form a friendship with his reclusive and pregnant neighbor, he wonders if this small-town hideout might be more of a long-term destination.
When Jessica begins to read her great-grandfather’s Bible, she finds a connection with a man she never knew. Somehow the verses he marked and the words he wrote in the margins open her heart to healing. And as Ridley and Jessica help each other forgive the people who have wronged them, they must decide if the past will define them or if they will choose to love again.

To me this book is about forgiveness. Jessica has to forgive her husband for his deceit and herself for per perceived fault in the car accident that claimed her husband and daughters lives. Ridley has to forgive those who should have stood up for him and those who wronged him and ruined his reputation. Then you go back to the 1930's and visit Jessica's great grandparents. Her great grandfather had a lot of things to forgive. I can't say I'm a fan of books that skip back and forth between periods. I did enjoy reading the book and seeing how Jessica and Ridley worked things out.

I couldn't put this book down. Jessica is left feeling betrayed and abandoned when she meets her neighbor, Ridley who is trying to escape public humiliation. They gradually break through each other's barriers and form a lasting friendship. The depth of the characters in this story will tug on your heart strings long after you have finished the last page. Robin Lee Hatcher has once again written a captivating story.

This was such a sweet romance. My heart broke for Jessica and I felt like defending Ridley right out the start gate. Their relationship grew so organically and I loved the tie slip back to Andrew and Helen. This is a beautiful story of love and redemption and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Who I Am with You by Robin Lee Hatcher is a wonderful book about second chances and forgiveness. I really enjoy the duel timeline! Jessica is alone and pregnant after her husband and daughter die in an accident. As she starts to read her Great Grandfather's Bible she begins to heal. Ridley is in hiding after being accused of something he didn't do. They gradually become friends as well as neighbors. The duel timeline takes place during the Great Depression. Love, betrayal can there be forgiveness and second chances? Both are great stories with a look towards unconditional love and forgiveness.

Who I Am with You starts a whole new series, Legacy of Faith, by Robin Lee Hatcher. I thought it was a good read. I felt connected to Jessica from page one. I knew her pain and struggle. I enjoyed it when she was introduced to Ridley.

I give Who I Am with You four and a half stars. I look forward to when book two releases. I recommend this faith filled and inspirational book.

Robin Lee Hatcher writes excellent novels. I don't always like her subject matter, but that's a matter of personal taste. Who I Am with You takes on a modern day woman whose husband killed himself and their daughter by his reckless driving. It also takes on a media consultant for a woman running for office who had information from her past leaked to the press.

Jessica and Ridley both hide out in the southwestern Idaho mountains--as luck would have it--next door to each other. Jessica is pregnant with her late husband's baby and just lives in her house and continues working at her art business.

At her grandmother's funeral, Jessica is given her great great grandfather's Bible. At this point, the story goes back and forth between modern day and the Great Depression. The only criticism I have for this book is that Robin's transitions are abrupt and lack smoothness that leads from one era to another and from one generation to another.

Still in all there are parallels between the two generations and the growth of faith among all the characters. This is a solid 4 star book.

Who I Am with You (A Legacy of Faith Novel) is the first book in a new series by author Robin Lee Hatcher. I am a fan of the author and enjoy her writing style. This book was a sweet inspirational read with two timelines. Both story lines had potential but I was disappointed that the legacy of faith was too subtle and never came together at the end of the book. Maybe this will happen as the series progresses with the next book. The writing and character development were very great and overall it was an enjoyable read.

While I am not a great fan of contemporary fiction, I am a great fan of Robin Lee Hatcher and after reading this book, I can say I am even more of a fan. What a great job she did of weaving the hurt and heartache of two generations, who never knew each other, into one story with such a powerful message. Once I started reading, I could not put it down. I fell in love with the characters as they faced their struggles and found faith and courage to make a positive difference in their world. When I finished I breathed a happy sigh and wished there was could have been more.

Based on the description, I wasn't expecting to love this book. Lo and behold, I did!

Who I Am With You is an engaging, warm, sweet Christian Romance that makes you want to curl up with a cup of tea and read it in one sitting. That's basically what I did! The characters are lovable and engaging, and the plot (as well as the characters' romance) moves at the perfect pace.
Would definitely recommend!

Jessica is recovering from losing her husband and her daughter when she also discovers she is pregnant. Trying to move forward with a surprise pregnancy and at the same time try to figure out what her marriage had been about really seems to take a toll on Jessica. During this time, she also gets a new neighbor when Ridley has to get away from a job which has turned out to be not what he thought it was. Robin Hatcher has a way of weaving this story to keep the reader totally engrossed in the story and make the characters feel like your next door neighbor. You find yourself rooting for Jessica and Ridley to get their lives together.

I absolutely loved this book! The characters were so wonderful, I felt so deeply for Jessica. I went through the emotion with Jessica, her character was so well written. Ridley’ character was so easy to like. I imagine him as very handsome with a warm and gentle personality. The story was written in past and present. I love how well it was written, both stories kept me so caught up in the book I didn’t want it to end. This book brought out so many emotions, only a really good book can do that!

“Who I am with you” by Robin Lee Hatcher is a wonderful story of second chances, forgiveness, and learning to love again. Enjoyed this book so much. It has two stories going. Jessica is a young widow who has lost so much and now loses her grandmother. She is presented with her grandmother’s Bible and we are told her story also through the book.

Jessica has met a new neighbor, Ridley who has past heartaches of his own and follow along as they develop their sweet relationship.

A good book that keeps your interest throughout
