Y’all, she’s done it again. Daisy Jones & The Six is like a cross between The Beatles Anthology and Almost Famous and your favorite TJR novel.

The thing about this story is that it really reads the way your favorite band’s anthology does. It’s not just Daisy you’re following, it’s the whole band and their people (friends, managers, producers, reporters) and they’re all actual characters that are layered and complex and emotional. It’s work to do that well, and TJR does it.

Also, TJR knocks it out of the park in a few timely, real quotes and moments about what it’s like to be a woman. Daisy, Camila, Simone, and Karen are real women who each have these moments where you just so deeply identify with them and feel what they’re feeling, in the best and worst ways.

OH MY GOD ALL THE STARS.

Is it too bold to say that this is my favorite book EVER? Every single character in this book spoke volumes to me - the raw and brutal honesty and emotion displayed from each and every band member and those on the outside (Camila, Simone) was utter perfection. Oh, Billy ... Daisy ... Camila ... a love triangle to rival all other triangles - or is it? Taylor Jenkins Reid has 1000000000% knocked it out of the park with this sex, drugs & rock and roll story and the fact that it’s written entirely in an interview format? Perfect perfect perfect.

In The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I had a sneaking feeling Evelyn was loosely based on Elizabeth Taylor. Now who might Daisy be based on? I’m thinking maybe Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac, but can’t wait to see what you all think!

I know Reese Witherspoon is adapting this for television and I can’t wait to see how it plays out on the small screen!

This book is an interview format with the members of a rock band, looking back at getting their big break in the 1970’s. You hear about writing and recording records and going on tour. Has a Behind the Music kind of feel. You can imagine growing up listening to this music and then hearing decades later the story behind the songs. I kept thinking of the movie Almost Famous - if you liked that movie or this author’s other books, I think you’ll enjoy this one as well. 5/5.

She did it again! Taylor Jenkins Reid you are amazing. What a wild ride. I loved the interview format so much.

I loved that she reported from all sides of a situation. It’s so much like real life. We hear what we want and to hell with the rest.

The twist at the end made me smile. So fun.

FIVE STARS! I want to go out a buy an album from this fictional rock band. Daisy Jones and the Six is totally unique. It’s a look into rock and roll during the 70’s. It is honest, raw and edgy in the best possible way. The characters are self centered, gritty and flawed. Yet, the story of the rise of Daisy and The Six is compelling and will leave you heartbroken and inspired at the very end. It’s a work of genius.

Taylor Jenkins Reid is at the top of her game with Daisy Jones & The Six. It's been a pleasure following her career and seeing the evolution of her voice. With her newest work (out in May), Taylor Jenkins Reid explores relationships between singers in a rock band in the 70s. Shifting between narrators, the characters are brought to life, as is their music. This is a story about sex, drugs, rock & roll, and so much more. This one is sure to top the charts. Highly recommended!

Wow wow wow! I need a second to complile all of my thoughts!

* Let me start off by saying that I have read every single one of TJR’s books. She has such a way of creating these worlds that feel so real. When I read Seven Husbands, I Googled whether or not Evelyn Hugo was a real person. After devouring Daisy Jones, I found myself doing that same thing yet again. I *had* to know if she or The Six was in fact real. I really felt like I was transported in time, more specifically the 70s. It gave me some serious Fleetwood Mac vibes . This book is the epitome of Rock’N’Roll . All the freaking stars!! Thank you for the chance to review it before it releases. My bibliophilic heart is so grateful!

I could not get into this book at all. I love the author and I was excited to read this book but I honestly couldn’t get into it and the weird formatting it had.

I grew up on episodes on Behind the Music and the movie That Thing You Do. This book was essentially a Behind the Music without the music. I'm glad that this has been picked up to be an actual show, because this book needs more than just song lyrics. It needs the music. Without it, it's just a bunch of dialogue. A little screenplay if you will, that has potential, but lacks the soul.

I enjoyed this story and am really looking forward to seeing it all come to life. With that said, I don't know that I would actually recommend reading this before the show. I would probably wait to read this until there is at least a soundtrack. Once that happens, this will be a book that you will be able to actually fully experience and I imagine it will be a novel that stays with you. Once that all happens, I will feel comfortable giving the book a full 5 star rating.

I'm not even sure where to begin with this book. It's just absolutely magical. Authentic. Real. Imaginative. Unique. So well written that you believe these characters are real and you find yourself wanting to search anything and everything out about them. That's the kind of writing that takes an author from good to great and TJR hit it out of the park with this one.

Reid makes you fall in love with every single character in this book. The way she decided to tell this story was beyond brilliant. Having every story told by different views brought this story together in a way that almost seems impossible. It could not have been done another way though or it just wouldn't pack the punch it does. The characters, the story, just all of it.

But this story isn't just about a band. It's about love, loss, heartbreak, addiction, and so much more. How someone could put so much into a story and make it flow so seamlessly is nothing short of wizardry and TRJ has the most powerful wand at her fingertips.

This is a story that will stick with you forever. You'll be asking your friends if they read it. You'll be shouting from the rooftops about how everyone needs to read this one because I know that's what I am going to be doing for the next few months.

I read DAISY JONES & THE SIX by Taylor Jenkins Reid back in August, but I haven’t felt I could adequately express my thoughts in a review. I may never be able to, so I’m just going to go ahead and write about it anyways. I’ll go into more depth in my full review closer to pub date, but I didn’t want to wait any longer to share some thoughts with y’all. For some reason, I’m nervous to share.
Like all TJR novels, for me, this book is about the dynamics and relationships between people. The relationship between friends, between enemies, the relationship between lovers and partners and family, the relationship between bandmates. But most importantly, it’s about the relationship with oneself.
Every one of these bandmates has a character arc. Whether it’s small or encompassing the entire book, every one of these characters has a story to tell. Their side of the story. And I cared about each one.
The majority of people will talk about their love for Daisy. That’s a given since she is one of the biggest characters and her name is in the title. And yes, she is a complex, dynamic, headstrong and complicated character. But for me, she wasn’t necessarily the character that had me racing to come back to the book each time I put it down. Camila was. She was one of the standout characters for me. Camila knew not only what she wanted, but what she deserved, and she wasn’t going to take less from anyone. She felt like a much-needed grounding force for these rockstars who, like most in the 70s I’m sure, went more than a little wild many times.
This book could not have been the easiest book to write, considering the format alone. It’s written as an oral history. In simplest terms, it’s like an interview without the questions proceeding the answers. The dialogue could have felt stale, the transitions wobbly, and the tone disingenuous. Jenkins Reid was able to avoid all of that and create a layered and engaging story with characters who feel as real to me as my own flesh.
Pre-order, put it on hold at your library, borrow a copy from a friend, add it to your TBR. Don’t miss out on what’s sure to be one of the biggest books of 2019.

Wow!!! I thought Evelyn Hugo was my favorite character but Taylor Jenkins Reid SLAYED Daisy Jones! I have been anticipating this book since I heard it was being released and all my expectations for the novel were met (plus more). I highly recommend this to all fans of the author. This is going to be a major hit in 2019!

Daisy Jones and The Six is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s newest novel which will release in March 2019. I was super excited to get my hands on an ARC as I absolutely loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and could wait to read this one. This historical fiction novel follows the former band members of famous ‘70s rock n roll group Daisy Jone and The Six and how they split in 1979. I really liked the interview writing format of this book. The writing style is great in a way that keeps your interest throughout the book. The plot was interesting, but I couldn’t really get into the ‘70s rock n roll overhyped stereotypes. By midway in the book? I was pretty fed up with the way the main characters, Daisy and Billy, were acting. Overall, I liked The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo much better than Daisy Jones and The Six. I also heard that Reese Witherspoon will be producing a limited series on Amazon based on the books so I’m curious to see how that will pan out. If you are a fan of Taylor Jenkins Reid, then I would highly recommend adding Daisy Jones and The Six to your TBR.

This book is AMAZING. I loved the creativity, the characters, the plot, the ending - everything. I enjoyed reading every single page of this book. This review is so short because my only comment is that this book ROCKS.

Told through a series of interviews, “Daisy Jones and The Six” is a captivating novel that gives you insight into rock n roll, and makes you want to hear the songs and see the band perform live. As Daisy Jones and the band The Six rise to stardom separately, and then together, the dynamics of the band are constantly challenged and each member is forced to look back at the craziest, most exciting time of lives to explain the intracies of the band that made them famous. Reid does not leave any stone unturned, and there is no shortage of sex, drugs and rock n roll in this one of a kind novel.

What a magical journey through the greatest era of rock & roll. Told in a unique style, I never wanted this book to end. Daisy & Billy are the stars but each voice is distinct, each with their slightly skewed version of the story. I loved Warren's perspective and quips. Like Almost Famous, this book is a love letter to all the bands, songs & musicians who have shaped our lives. Though the band & their songs are fictitious, it's clear to see the parallels between Daisy & Billy and Stevie & Lindsey. Who hasn't heard Silver Springs and wanted to know why, oh why, they couldn't make it work. With Daisy & Billy we get the why. The stories of addiction & the booze and drugs that fueled rock & roll are legendary and from page one you're drawn into the drama and chaos of the Sunset Strip. When you finish this book, you wish that Daisy Jones & The Six wasn't just a figment of Taylor Jenkins Reid's imagination. If they were real, you'd be able to put on Aurora, and get drawn into the spell of the band all over again.

Now, the book. With this latest, Taylor Jenkins Reid has solidified her place, I think, as one of my favorite authors. She has not yet let me down, and each of the books that I have read by her has been completely different. She's a talented and engaging writer and had earned my loyalty.

I tend to struggle with books about or involving fictional famous things - bands, celebrities, whatever. And this ENTIRE BOOK is about a fictional rock band in the 70s. But I loved all of it. Every member of the band came to sparkling, gritty life for me. They felt like real people, and it felt like a real band. My only regret when I finished the book was that I couldn't run out and buy <i>Aurora</i> to hear the songs for myself.

The tensions between the band came to life, and the way each person was drawn, the way they each had such a unique perspective on what was happening and what was going on for them. As the story progressed, the reader saw just how disconnected the band members were from one another at times, despite spending tons and tons of time together.

Then finding out who was writing this fictional biography of Daisy Jones and the Six was fantastic. I didn't see that coming, but it made total sense. And the end just gave me all the feels.

And there is really nothing else I want to say about the book. Other than, when it is out, read it. It felt worth every second.

The second i heard about this book, I knew it was something i had to read. I went home and told my entire family about it.. I'm a fan of the whole mystery behind the rockstar thing, ever since i saw Eddie and the Cruisers when i was young. I knew this would be right up my alley.
This book is the story of Daisy Jones and the Six- how the band formed, who the members were, why they broke up. It was told in a series of interviews- but not just as a list of questions. You get the inside scoop from all the players- major and minor.
This is my 4th book by Taylor Jenkins Reid. it's to the point i don't even think i need to read the description anymore to know i want to read it. she just has the ability to draw me in. I think it could be about watching water boil and i would fall for the water. She's an author whom i have chosen to spread out her books. I know they are going to be fantastic, and if i read them all, then i don't have any to look forward to. Probably a bit odd, but its typical me.
I was so excited for this book. And now that i've read it, i'm so excited for the mini series. An interview story of the rise and fall of an iconic band. It was full of music, celebrity, rock n roll, addiction, relationships. And Ms. Reid's fantastic writing. You couldn't help but root for Daisy and Billy's success, despite their flaws. These characters are so realistic, so easy to relate to. By the time i finished this book, i wanted to go to a concert and stalk the band. Instead, i'll just have to stalk Amazon until the mini series comes out.

I’ve never read a book like this before. I loved it. I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy a book about a fictional rock band in the 60’s/70’s. But I couldn’t put it down. It read like a magazine article, with many points of view. I loved how it flowed. It’s hard to believe this band wasn’t real. And the music, just great. Highly recommended.
