I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. My Favourite Half Night Stand by Christina Lauren is a delight of a book to read. It’s funny and sweet with quite a bit of steam, tender and silly and heartbreaking when it looks like things won’t work out... basically all the feels. Millie Morris lost her mother when she was quite young and her coping mechanism has been to bury everything that she feels and pretend that everything is okay always. This leaves her feeling safe until the night that she and her best friend Reid Campbell have a really hot Half Night Stand because maybe they could have more but he wants someone who will be open and honest with him and not always deflect when asked about her feelings. Their group of friends in need of dates for the university black tie gala decide to try online dating. The first profile she creates attracts only weirdos so she creates another one with her middle name and is matched with Reid. She makes a joking response to him assuming that he will know it’s her but when he doesn’t the new personna a takes on a life of its own because she can finally be open with him and talk about all those buried feelings. But sooner or later Reid is going to want to meet Catherine and then all of Millies carefully built walls will come tumbling down. I loved not only the relationship between Reid and Millie ... but also the strong friendships they have with their group and hope that the other guys get stories too. As a big romance reader Christina Lauren is a name I've heard many many times before. I've always kept an eye out for their (CL is a writing duo) books but nothing really caught my eye until My Favorite Half-Night Stand. Let me jus say- taking my time for the right one 100% paid off!

My Favorite Half-Night Stand had everything I love in a friends-to-lover story. It's sweet, sexy, funny and relatable. The story touches upon the usage of modern dating apps, the ease and hardship of a friendship between different sexes and the importance of being true to oneself and others. With plenty of hilarious moments and no shortage of serious discussions, every single aspect was on point.

I adore the friendship between Millie and the four guys. Their group dynamic was perfect. Their unique personalities brought different things to the group. Whether it was cracking (friendly) jokes at Ed's expense or gossiping about Alex's player ways things were never dull. I wish they could go on and on and on!

Millie and Reid might be my favourite friends-to-lover couple ever. I love their friendship as much as the romance that bloomed between them. Their secret affair was so delish. Despite not being completely truthful to one another anybody could see they cared deeply for each other. Millie messes up big time but her growth was evident in the way she owns up to her mistake and tries her hardest to repair things. That's character growth. And Reid is just a giant sweetheart!

I'm so glad I waited to read a Christina Lauren book. My Favorite Half-Night Stand is one of the best romances I've read to date and trust me when I say I've read a lot. Honest, sexy and witty I'm itching to reread it already!

My Favorite Half Night Stand is light fluffy fun — kind of like an enjoyable romantic comedy. Millie is friends with five guys she works with at a university in Santa Barbara, California. They are all in their late 20s and early 30s and single. One of those guys is Reid. The five friends decide that they need dates for an upcoming work event, so they use an dating app. Millie decides to use a pseudonym, and she ends up being matched to Reid. And perhaps you can guess the rest... Predictable — but enjoyable and warm-hearted. And Reid is a lovely main male character... Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an opportunity to read an advance copy.

cute book, but I found myself skipping through a lot of parts that I found boring and it was pretty predictable, but overall it was a nice read. It was about a woman who is friends with a group of guys, and ends up falling for one of them, so then proceeds to catfish him on a dating site and really, you would think he would have figured it out but he didn't lol. It was a little nerdy for me and not enough romance, but im sure chick lit fans will like it!

That' is all I can really say without giving too much of the book away. I give the book 3 stars

My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren is a hilarious work of fiction which centers around Millie Morris and her four best guy friends and their quest to find dates for an upcoming event. But, right before the group decided to set out on this quest, Millie and her best friend Reid hook up (strictly plutonic they agree.) Things are never as easy as they seem.
Highly recommended with anyone looking for a good chuckle and light romantic read.

I was in the mood for a quick read and a book with a rom-com feel, and My Favorite Half-Night Stand delivered on both fronts! I started reading the story late one night and woke up to finish the last few chapters the next morning. Throughout my reading experience, there were a few good laughs, and a handful of cute and intimate moments that made me smile.

It's only the second book I've ever read by Christina Lauren- the first being Beautiful Bastard, so it's been a while- and I loved the mix of sweet romance and light humor in the story. I enjoyed the quirkiness and individual personalities of the characters and the role each of them played in their friendship. The main characters, Millie and Reid, had a different bond with each other than they did with the others in their circle. That extra chemistry and closeness they shared made their transition from 'strictly friends' into 'something more than that,' easily acceptable.

Overall, My Favorite Half-Night Stand was a light-hearted, fun, and entertaining story. I don't know why it's taken me so long to read another Christina Lauren book, but I'll definitely be checking out some of the their other titles- and soon!

Wow! I’m honestly floored. I figured I was going to enjoy this book, but I never would have expected to love it THIS much.

This is my first experience reading Christina Lauren and let me tell you, those ladies can WRITE!
I’ve owned a few of their books for a while now, and now I want to abandon my planned TBR and read them all.

The friends-to-lovers trope has always been one of my absolute favourites, and I loved how fresh and unique this plot-line was.

It’s always a wonderful treat when a book can be completely moving and emotional, and yet also be laugh-out-loud hilarious. Sometimes the funny parts in deep storylines can feel forced and unpleasant, but this book didn’t have that at all! It was completely realistic and fantastic.

That band of misfits is complete #squadgoals.
The best part of the book (and that’s saying something because the entire book was outstanding) was the relationship of the five friends. Their scenes made my heart feel so full and happy.

Trust me, you need to pick this book up. As soon as I reached the end, I said this out loud: “That was a really good story.”
I loved it completely.

EVERY TIME I think these two can't possibly do it again I find myself laughing, swooning, and falling in love with their characters all over again. If you need a book to brighten your day, I would highly recommend MY FAVORITE HALF-NIGHT STAND to you, knowing it is more than up to the task. Your face might hurt from smiling too much :)

I just loved the writing in this book. I feel like I really got to connect with the characters. The storyline was amazing. I recommend this book to everyone.

4 stars! This book just confirmed that Christina Lauren are some of my favourite authors this year! My Favorite Half-Night Stand was an adorable novel that’s really easy and quick to read. My favourite part of it was Reid’s character, who is the most lovable person in this book, which is saying a lot since I loved all of the group. The romance was amazing and I loved the dating app twist! The only thing I wish we’d seen is the Obama gala. I definitely recommend this book!

What I wouldn't give for some half stars right about now.

I have so enjoyed CLo's transition into more emotional, women's fic-y, stories and MY FAVOURITE HALF-NIGHT STAND comes close to reaching the love I had for ROOMIES and LOVE AND OTHER WORDS.. basically everything since DATING YOU/HATING YOU has been lovely and wonderful. But they've also been a little offbeat or had some unique element to make it more than a typical tropey contemporary romance and sadly there just wasn't much of that in this one.

I liked the group of platonic male besties, I liked that they were all some form of smart or genius, and I really liked Reid. But the heroine? The catfishing? The lying? I don't really know?

There were some really cute or funny moments but they felt kinda few and far between the rather typical playing out of the plot. I also really struggle with the super delayed reaction time on confronting or dealing or admitting to feelings. I know it's legit and happens all the time but sometimes I'm just not sold. Especially when the character is self-aware about their repressed feelings, etc etc.

This is definitely worth the read if you're a fan, or this trope is your kink, but if asked for a recommendation for this author duo, this wouldn't be the first one on my list.

Disappointing. I feel like Christina Lauren keeps writing the same heroine over and over again and this felt particularly similar to the recently released <i>Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating</i>.

Another hit from Christina Lauren. I loved the group of friends atmosphere the most. Perhaps a touch more character development really would have hit this home. A quick, light, fun read.

You can probably imagine how over the moon I was when I got the email from Netgalley saying that they approved this book...especially after me just finishing Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating!

And once again, Christina Lauren did not disappoint!

In this book, we follow Millie and her 4 male best friends as they slowly introduce themselves into the world of online dating. Yes, they all share a totally platonic relationship together, but it's always been a little different with Reid—her first and best friend of the bunch. After one night of too much wine and carefree thoughts, Millie finds herself attracted to Reid and the two end up sharing the night together.

Deciding to keep things between them the same, the pair goes back to normal, until Millie, using a fake persona, finds herself matched with Reid on a dating app. What started as a fun little prank ensues into something more as Millie finds herself opening up to Reid online, much more than she ever did in person.

I had such a fun time with these characters. At first, it did feel a bit overwhelming since we get introduced to a whole range of people right off the bat, but thankfully I got familiarized with each of them over time, and I loved all of Millie and Reid's interactions with the side characters.

Millie was such a relatable character for me. She finds it very hard to open up to others due to the death of her mother and strays away from making a big deal out of anything. It was nice to read about how intuned her friends were in her life that they all picked up on her refusal to divulge into her personal life. The author really makes the reader feel a lot for Millie and there were plenty of times when I started to feel a little emotional!

Reid is also such a great love interest. He understands Millie the best, and there's this ease to their relationship that I can't help but envy! They are so comfortable around each other and it was interesting to see Reid sort out his feelings for real Millie, as well as the online Millie.

I definitely think this book was a hit. I had a great time reading it and the romance sat really well with me, (I'm a sucker for the friends to lovers trope!) I think my favorite of the two Christina Lauren books that I've read is still Josh and Hazel's, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy this one! It's perfect for someone looking for something cute and fluffy, as well as a little steamy. It also has some hilarious one-liners thrown here and there!

Christina Lauren does it again! Millie Morris has not been on a date in a long time and neither has her four best friends (all guys, might I add). So, what better way to suffer through the potential prospects than to all sign up for a dating website together! This dating website matches you with promising candidates and only if you approve of their profile or percentage of a match can they see your full profile. Sounds great, right? Right until Millie's "secret" account gets matched with her best friend, Reid. But, did I forget to mention.. Millie and Reid had a one night stand recently that no one knows about and Reid left her in the middle of the night (AKA a half-night stand)!!

I loved the dynamic between Millie and Reid. They were so close to each other without ever really realizing the other was flirting with them. But, after a night of drinking, Millie takes charge and well.. has her way with Reid! They both agree that it can't happen again (oh, but it does!) and they move on with their now awkward friendship. When Millie (as her alter ego account) messages Reid and he doesn't catch on that it's her, she really opens up to him. They banter back and forth and really start to have feelings for each other.

I was rooting for Millie and Reid to just smarten up and get together throughout the entire novel. They are just such a perfect couple, it makes me smile just thinking about it! The friendship between Millie and Reid was just so genuine, it felt like I actually knew these characters. Even the side characters were great (I'm really hoping for some sequels with these character in the future).

This was such an easy read, I'm really glad for the opportunity to have reviewed this one. 5/5 stars

This was my second Christina Lauren novel (second in two months, actually), and I can say with 100% certainty that I am now firmly in her (their?) camp.

This was exactly the kind of romance I have come to adore reading. It doesn't try so hard to be fun or flirty or sexy. It just naturally is. The dual POV of Millie and Reid was a surprising but excellent choice. I've always enjoyed seeing how a relationship grows on both sides, versus one pining and forever wondering. Gets exhausting, you know? That said, dual POV doesn't always pan out, and Christina Lauren nailed it here.

While a little vulgar and a bit too much "the boys", the group of friends in this was a lot of fun. It's clear they have a good dynamic and it makes me wish my best friends actually knew each other so that I could experience that myself. They're all from different stages of my life and have never met each other. NOT THE POINT. Anyway, their group chats were of particular amusement to me, as were their one/two-on ones. The character development was pretty good too with the main characters.

The romance itself ... I ship it. Maybe there wasn't as much chemistry as there could have been, but it was still highly entertaining. The premise the romance itself revolves around was interesting and, of course, set us up for the inevitable dread of it blowing up in the main character's face. I think it was handled well. In fact, the last ten percent of the novel had a smile plastered on my face from the cuteness.

Bonus points when your e-galley copy is actually formatted properly and pictures and chapters line up. For this novel, the right formatting is needed.

I saw a lot of myself in Millie. I often hide behind humour. I often get awkward. I have a soft spot for smart guys.

This book was a good take on modern dating in the internet age and I recommend it to anyone who knows how it feels to date online or even those who are curious how it is.

I love these authors, and this book might just have climbed its way to the top for me. I laughed out loud countless times while reading it and I found this group of friends delightful to read about. I loved their work setting, their camaraderie, and their dating dilemmas. SO fun. Read it in one sitting, kept trying to put it down to go to bed, but I couldn't. Love love loved it.

Ok I absolutely LOVED this book! My Half-Night Stand takes you on a journey through the realm of online dating, exposing you to the good, the bad, and the ugly. Love (for your partner, family & friends), laughter, loneliness, vulnerability, secrets, lies-- this book has all the feels! I really enjoyed the witty conversations between the characters (main and secondary), as it made them relatable and unforgettable. I couldn't keep my goofy smile and giggles under wraps while reading this one. It was definitely a page-turner! If you're looking for a rom-com that will make you laugh out loud, and have the ability to pull at your heart strings, this is it.

This was my first @christinalauren book🙈 Clearly I’ve been missing out!
