This book provides more information than most people would want to know about owls.
No, really, it's good. They identify the birds, talk about finding them, and even get into owl pellets. I hope to buy it for my library when it's available.

Really well-designed and comprehensive book that would appeal to a large range of ages (younger readers would love the bite-sized fact boxes and detailed photographs and diagrams) with enough detail to satisfy the older readers (even adults -- don't forget, grown-ups, that you can gain a lot of information from Juvenile Non-Fic, esp. if you want a broader overview of the topic before diving more deeply (or only want an overview)).

What a lovely book, when it's finished and printed it's going to be a lovely fun educational read, light in tone but informative and well researched. We look forward to stocking this one .

This is an incredibly detailed non-fiction text for young readers.

The images are all well selected and much of the information given is interesting.

As far as its usefulness for a class read, I would suggest this veers toward being slightly too long and in too much detail about specific owl breeds for most primary aged children.

I would consider having this in a school library as a reference book or for any child who finds this subject exceptionally interesting.

What a lovely book, bursting with fascinating information about these beautiful birds and wonderful pictures too. This is a great source of scientific/natural world information for both children and adults and would make a brilliant book for children and parents to share and explore further.

I love this book! It’s visually compelling, organized by wonderful topics, and so packed full of intriguing facts about owls. As a teacher, I love that you included a glossary and raptor rehab locations in the back. The whole time I was reading the digital copy, I was thinking how much I want to buy a printed copy for myself, and then I made a list of kids, and other birders, and my mom, and on and on, who will love a printed copy as a gift from me. What a beautiful book on owls! This is by far the best book I’ve read on owls.

A reference book rather than narrative nonfiction that includes an amazing variety of owls to learn about. Tons of photos make this a vibrant read!

This book is everything you wanted to know about owls and more. Beautiful photography and in depth information on owls. This is a great research book if doing a school report. From bones, different eye colors of owls, night vision, wing spans, nesting, and every type of owl you will not be disappointed in this book. It is worth having it for the pictures alone.
I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Even if you think you don't want to know about owls, you should read this book. Even if you thought you knew everything you needed to know about owls, you should read this book. And even if you don't like reading "children's science books" you should read this book.

Owling is a well written, middle-grade book with fascinating tidbits about Owls, from the way that their eyes work, to their ears, to how they build nests. Hint, they don't, they "borrow" other birds nests.

Great pictures, and easy to read one page factoids, make this book a delight. I would highly recommend it for schools and libraries. And adults will enjoy it as well.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

This is a well written and easy to understand book packed full of information about owls. I wasn't expecting it to be so long, but was happy with everything it contained. The digital arc was missing about 20% of it's pages (they were still blank), but as this is a non-fiction title, that didn't affect the overall take-away. I look forward to purchasing a copy of this book for my upper elementary library. I especially enjoyed some of the diagrams, "how an owl pellet is formed" was my favorite. Great information, great photos, kids who like owls will just devour this book.

Owling was a fascinating look at the life of owls. This book was written in a clear but detailed manner accompanied by photos that were outstanding and somewhat mesmerizing. I especially liked the chapter on how to find an owl and the educational activity related to it. It was quite a unique learning experience for the young children.
This book should be a part of the school library where it can be enjoyed by children of all ages.
Highly recommended!

This is such a cool guide to owls! The intended audience was children, but as an adult, I was engaged throughout. There are copious pictures and diagrams, and the owls within are both adorable and majestic. A very solid work.
