Unfortunately, I didn’t find any aspects of this story especially shocking and the final twist was unrealistic in my opinion. I also found it quite difficult to connect with either of the main characters and didn’t especially sympathize with either of them. Overall, there are better thriller out there.

I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wasn't a favorite. Jumped around a lot and hard to get into. Great twists though.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an arc of this book..

It was ok. Started slow and hard for me to really get lost in it. I read so many psychological thrillers that I have a high bar set for this genre. I look for something that hasnt been done before or if it has been done before, it needs a twist to make it stand out. 3 stars.
Thank you for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is the second novel I've read by Ms Simpson, and even though I still don't like the time jump method she uses (very unnecessarily confusing), it was a solid read. Will look forward to her next offering.

I felt like it started kind of rough but picked up to be a rather fast paced thriller type book. I felt like the plot hinged on a twist that didn't really deliver. It was okay but not my favorite.

I would like to thank Aria Publishing and the Netgalley website for this partnership.

We find Andi and Camilla who are long-time friends until the day when the university graduation goes wrong.

Years later Andi lives in Cornwall, married, with children, a dream house, but the past catches up with her, her secrets haunt her. Someone's trying to scare him.

A book read in one go so much I hooked on the story so captivating, addictive, full of suspense and twists and turns. A book to read absolutely.

Mainly about two people, Andi and Camilla with a few others on the edge of this story. Starts in Edinburgh University with poor girl Camilla forcing her way into the group led by the far more affluent Andi. This is such a confusing book to read on a Kindle with the ever changing timelines and I found it hard to keep up sometimes. Once I’d got used to the style and the way it was written, it was fine. Some people were nicer then than now and vice versa but I didn’t really gel with the two main characters and got bored with the drinking aspects of the story. It was set in beautiful Cornwall apart from the university interludes. This is a tale of secrets and revenge and would make a good companion for either the beach or swimming pool.

A decent and engaging psychological thriller that lacks originality

Rich, privileged Andi and working-class Camilla become unlikely best friends at university. Kind and always willing to help those in need, Andi reaches out to poor Camilla who is struggling to fit in with the upper-class students from wealthy backgrounds at Edinburgh where the girls are studying. They quickly become inseparable and think they know everything there is to know about each other – until disaster strikes. Fast forward several years in the future and Andi is living a seemingly perfect life in Cornwall with her husband and children. But a secret from the past that she has kept hidden for several years threatens to escape and destroy everything she holds dear.

Who Am I is a well-written psychological thriller with plenty of twists and turns to keep the plot moving and the reader turning the pages. The author carefully builds her story, switching between the two central characters’ perspectives and between the past and the present to gradually build up a picture of what happened before finally revealing all to the reader in the dramatic climax. It is a difficult book to put down, as the author reveals clues and hints as to what is going on very gradually and slowly, leaving you hungry for more. The ending twist is also still quite unexpected despite all the careful build-up.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find any aspects of this story especially shocking and the final twist didn’t have quite the impact on me that it seemed the author was aiming for, as well as being totally unrealistic in my opinion. I also found it quite difficult to connect with either of the main characters and didn’t especially sympathise with either of them. My main issue with this book was probably that the ‘not knowing someone as well as you think you do’ trope is so over-used in these psychological thrillers that it felt quite same-y and lacked a uniqueness that would have earned it a higher rating.

In conclusion, this novel is worth a read for fans of psychological thrillers but does not have enough originality or shock factor to stand it out from several similar stories. However, I did enjoy it and would recommend this book and author to readers looking for a gripping and easy read.

I was hooked by this synopsis and captivated by the cover. The title has so much mystery to it and it was a book I had to request.
Two university friends, Andi and Camilla, had everything until the night of their graduation.
Years pass and Andi is living a dream life in Cornwall with her husband and children but things are not as perfect as they seem…….
Who is making Andi’s life a misery? What will happen when she finds out she cannot escape the past?
Who is Camilla really?

Who I am is utterly gripping, twisty and true to life. I was hooked all the way through. I love those thrillers with so much mystery, tension and constant twists and turns. The ones that keep me guessing and wanting to find out what will happen next.

This is one of those books that make me go “Wow, this is brilliant.” Because it is.

Who I Am is an excellent thriller that will make you question how well you really know the people who call themselves your friends.

Thanks to Sarah Simpson and Aria for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review and a spot on the blog tour for this title.

This is my first Sarah Simpson thriller but I am already wanting more and I can tell she is a master storyteller. 5 stars.

I am reviewing a copy of Who I Am through Aria and Netgalley:

I know everything about you and you know everything about me except one very important thing about me which is Who I Am!

Andi and Camilla met at University, they instantly became best friends, they shared everything together. But when their long planned and anticipated graduation ends in tragedy everything changes.

Years later, Andi is living what seems like a perfect life on the rugged Cornish Coast with her loving husband and happy children and a dream house. Andi is however haunted by a secret she believed she was the only one that knew about.

Someone is bringing Andi’s worst fears to life. She knows that she will not be able to escape the past that has haunted her.

I givw Who I Am five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Another beautifully descriptive chiller by a very talented author. I enjoyed this book as much as her debut. Great characterisation and an absorbing story.

I love a good psychological thriller something to completely loose myself in and keep me on the edge of my seat. I must admit I didn't find the cover very appealing even though it relates to the dark atmosphere of the story but Sarah knows how to keep the reader engaged with her words. I was hooked from the start.
The plot flits from different times and places but not in a confusing way, I found it was quite easy to follow despite it being fast paced. I love the use of questions and statements to give the reader more understanding of the characters and plot and creating suspense perfect for a psychological thriller. Sarah's knowledge and understanding of her topic shows clearly throughout the plot and brings depth to the characters. I enjoyed reading the scenes at the counsellors as this was were we gain even more understanding of the minds of the characters. Just when I thought I knew where the plot was headed a new detail is let slip and I am back to the drawing board and guessing.
Who I Am is brilliant. Do we really know who people are? I don't think we do. This is a must read if you like a psychological thriller. I have read so many historical and romantic fiction books recently that this was the perfect respite. I cannot wait for more from Sarah.

Engaging, sinister and twisty, Who I Am is one of those reads that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book. Filled with clever curiosity and tension, this book took me on a wicked ride.

Simpson does a great job with character development, the plot and twists within the story. I was intrigued by each character, while not particularly likable, they are well developed and play their parts perfectly. Told in past and present tenses, twists and turns are everywhere, secrets are divulged and the tension and suspense is never lacking.

Secrets, betrayals, revenge, lies and friendship... What more could you want from a book?

Thankyou to NetGalley, Aria and the author, Sarah Simpson, for the opportunity to read a digital copy of Who I Am in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was well written with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader hooked. A terrific debut novel from this author and I will definitely be reading more of her work in the future. 3.5 stars
Well worth a read.

Nary such a jumpy book have I read before! Nooo my kindle did not jump but the characters and timelines did. And I struggled to really get my head around all of them. Ah well...

Andi and Camilla became friends in college, it felt like Camilla had targeted Andi and played to her feelings, and they lived together along with two others. A party and a tragedy caused two to die, one to commit suicide and the last to survive. 17 years later, story talks about Andi's marriage and her kids and her routine life till she is stalked on Twitter... Sheesh I tell you... This social media... Ah well...

My first read by Sarah Simpson, and the story just dragged on, very, very slow. Within the first 20% I had guessed the plot, then it was just a matter of being proved right. It started as a thriller till the last few pages, where it became a women's fiction full of sadness and pathos. If only all the women had been honest and straight, tragedies wouldn't have occurred... And then this book wouldn't have been written too. Ah well...

I didn't like the characters or their friends or the husband. The writing was great but didn't emote all the feelings and didn't give off a vibe of a thriller. Should have had a faster pace and better formating of timelines.. I had unanswered questions too. Oh yes, there was a mysterious therapist with a mysterious past, I didn't know why her past was significant... Maybe it was a red herring.. Ah well...

I liked the cover though I didn't know its significance in story... Ah well...

Things started off a little rocky for me at first and I wasn’t sure if this one was going to be one that I read through quickly just to finish it. Well things really started to pick up for me and I started to pick up on some of those clues and I raced through most of this one in one evening to find out how it ends. I was completely engrossed and entertained in this story and nothing was stopping me till I found Who I Am really is in this story. Things got quite twisty as I tried to piece things together and my head started to spin and at times I forgot who I was while trying to figure out how everyone fitted into this story.

Sarah Simpson does a great job here developing some interesting characters and we were quite intrigued with one character who seemed to have some background to her. After we finished reading we realized there is a previous book Her Greatest Mistake with that character in it. We will be adding that one to our list in the new year and looking out for her next book I Know You’re There, that will be released April 16, 2019.

Now here is the best thing about this story for me I can’t say I really liked the ending but I sure enjoyed the story. I don’t think I ever felt that way about an ending before. Usually, how I like the ending is deal breaking for me. Well, this ending was just perfect and brilliantly written. We highly recommend.

Thank you so much to Victoria Joss at Aria and Sarah Simpson for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.

Who I Am by Sarah Simpson not only has a gorgeous cover, but it is a super twisty mystery that had me guessing until the very end!

What it's about: Andi and Camilla meet at university and become almost instant friends. Andi even helps Camilla out by allowing her to share her room at the property her dad is paying for. But things turn sour fast after a tragic event at their graduation celebration. Now, many years later, Andi is a freelance writer with a husband and 2 small children. She has taken to drinking a lot but is in denial that she is an alcoholic. This all ties back to that fateful day and past secrets that are all about to be brought to light. Can Andi escape her past before it catches up with her?

The story is told in multiple time frames, as well as jumping around to different characters. I think this could have easily gotten confusing, but Simpson did an amazing job of making it very easy to follow. This book is also chalk FULL of unlikable characters, and I think there was maybe 1 I liked out of the entire book, and even then I didn't love her. A couple of these characters were just pure evil and it was great.

I think the short chapters, different character viewpoints, and Andi's downward spiral really kept me interested and I found Who I Am very hard to put down. Even though it is long at over 400 pages, I managed to fly through it in 1 day. I don't want to say too much else for fear of giving anything away, but this is definitely a book you don't want to miss.

Final Thought: There was also a mystery person POV that I really enjoyed in this book. I love when authors do that, and this one always sounded so evil that it was delightful. I have to say I love a good evil character in a novel and this book had that. I loved all the twists and turns, and even though I had about a million theories while reading it, none of them were right. If you like a good twisty novel that will keep you guessing, you do not want to miss Who I Am! I can't wait to read more from this author.

I loved the pace in this story and the suspense the author build up as the book progressed was excellent. I thought that the characters were well developed and I loved Andi and Camilla.

I will be honest and say that the story took me a little bit of time to get in to as it is quite a complex plot but as soon as I got to know a bit more about what was going on I flew through the story to the end. There were plenty of twists and turns in the story that kept me guessing and that made it a really enjoyable read for me. It was a well written psychological thriller.

Four stars from me, I really enjoyed it - highly recommended!
