This was a cute Christmassy read which begins with a proposal that goes more than a little bit wrong. It did take me a little bit to figure out what was going on with Roxy but she ended up being a really lovable character once I got over the second-hand embarrassment of the proposal! The story has a great flow to it and although it was a bit predictable at times kept me interested throughout. A great book to read in winter. It also made me want to read the first book in the series though this can definitely be read as a stand-alone.

This book was a quick read about a woman who proposes to her boyfriend live on tv. The boyfriend is a complete jerk and though she's better off without him, she takes off. I'm pretty sure I've seen a similar storyline on tv before but it was a short quick read.

Oooo I loved this book SO much!! I have smiled and chuckled my way through it, even shook my head at comments from Characters, much to the amusement of those sat nearby in the Cafe.

This was so well written I didn’t realise I was muttering away at some situations until somebody snickered nearby! I was entirely engrossed in the book, it felt like I had been transported!

Absolutely brilliant, I can’t wait to read mroe from the author!

I’ve been craving Hallmark movies—nearly impossible to get legally in the UK—like crazy this December, so it’s only fitting that I round out the 12 Days of Christmas Reads with a rom com worthy of everyone’s favorite Christmas channel.

So here’s the deal. You’ve read elements of this book before, and that’s a good thing. Is Roxy too good for a guy she spends too much time pining after? Who hasn’t been there? Did I spend most of my time pointing at Alex and yelling, “HIM! PICK HIM!?” Yes. Was I here for it when those two crazy kids finally got together for their happily ever after? Absolutely.

There is comfort in knowing that there are certain beats these stories are going to hit. The parts that’s most interesting to me it watching genre authors fill in around the tropes with secondary characters you love, B-plots that pull you along, and quippy conversation between our hero and heroine. All in all, I was happy to sink into Second Chances at the Log Fire Cabin for a little bit and stay for the Christmas cheer, shameless baking porn, and hot Anglo-Australian guy.

Jackson had told Roxy that she could move in with him and so when feeling loved up...... and after maybe one out two to many drinks....... she decides to propose to him on life TV she is mortified when he turns her down! Needing to escape she is offered job at the Log Fire Cabin and jumps at the chance..... but what is Jackson doing turning up there with his new girlfriend!

As usual a lovely story from this author, you know you are going to end up with that nice warm feeling inside when you finish it and there will be lots of lovely characters..... apart from Jackson of course! Good festive book

To be honest, I have to say this book is much more than I expected. What I liked most about it was that most of the plot is setting in a same place. I would like to highlight there are many stories crossing in this place and I think it gives agility to the reading. Although, it is so fun at the beginning, it has its drama too, so this book iis very complete. When I started reading it, I didn’t know this book is a sequel, so this is a good point I would like to remark, because you don’t need to read the first one to enjoy this.

All starts when Roxy and her boyfriend go as spectators to a television show, and she is exalted by the excitement that Jackson has asked her to go live with him. With the very good help of a few cocktails before going on set. , he asks his Mr.Perfect for marriage in front of the cameras. After a few seconds of anguished silence in the studio, Jackson says: "Er ..., no?" Roxy Only can see her future totally dark, without work, without a home. The only thing she has left is an ex who in less than a week has replaced her with another girl. To forget the sorrows, Roxy goes to the supermarket in search of chocolate, is the only thing that can encourage her in these hard times. In the corridor of flours, she will meet Poppy, who will offer her an opportunity to work with her this Christmas as a pastry chef at her catering company. Roxy accepts, there's only one small problem, and it is that she does not know how to cook ...

I love this author’s writing style and I was delighted to see that she had a new book out and read it within a few days of it landing on my Kindle – and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

I loved the characters and the plot line was great. The setting for the story was perfect and I have to say that I think the book’s cover is gorgeous too!

This is the second book in the series and whilst I think that the first one was a bit stronger, this is certainly a good read and I think it is fine to read as a stand alone, but if you do get an opportunity I would read them in order as the first one is completely delightful!

Four stars from me, a really enjoyable story!

Just finished and I quickly had to get this recommendation written. Fantastic. Just as good as the last years “Christmas at the Log Fire Cabin: a heartwarming and feel-good read”. A book you can’t put down. Great fun characters, wonderful location and cute plots. If you haven’t read, pick it up, even if it isn’t Christmas.

Roxy makes an embarrassing faux pas by proposing to her boyfriend on live TV, while drunk, and gets turned down. Which, frankly, was doing her a favor because they hadn't been dating long and he was a jerk. A chance encounter nets her a job as an assistant in someone's catering company, so she heads off to the Fire Log Cabin in order to attempt to hide her utter lack of cooking skills (so how did she get hired???). She meets a lot of colorful characters from the previous books of this series, along with a new love interest, but then her old boyfriend shows up at the event she's helping cater so she mopes over him for a while before everything gets abruptly resolved in the last few pages.

If you can't tell by that summary, I did not really get along with this book. It had a brand of "let's laugh at the hapless fool" comedy that just makes me cringe instead, and Roxy's comedy of errors and self-pity was painful. A lot of it was perfectly understandable in isolation, but the unrelenting nature of her inner problems was just exhausting and tedious after a while. (Or, well, it really didn't take long, actually.) A lot of the middle of the book was repetitive and fan service cameos for previous characters, and the resolution was too rushed to be satisfying.

Second Chances at the Log Fire Cabin is a fabulous festive read. I really enjoyed it.

A story of friendship, romance, misunderstandings, new beginnings and love. A lovely heartwarming and uplifting Christmassy story, with well written characters who I found engaging and a gorgeous winter wonderland setting. A book for a quiet cosy afternoon snuggled up on the settee with a hot chocolate.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Somehow, from the very first chapter, I just did not connect with this book or the characters. I’m not critical of the author, as it’s obvious she’s a good writer. This just wasn’t the story for me.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

A nice cozy story great for a winter reading. The characters are likable and I look forward to the next story.

I would like to stay at the log filere cabin.
I enjoyed this book more than I thought l would, as initially I thought that the main character was a bit self absorbed. The more I read the more I started routing for everyone.
I think the ending could lead to another story of what happens next with Noah.

Nice story, but with some length; quite predictable, good read, not more not less; great to read at wintertime
