Ella Quinn’s sprightly novella, I’ll Always Love You provides a charming early winter distraction for fans of her Worthingtons series.

Lady Lucinda Hughlot is struggling to find proper sponsorship for her first Season in the wake of her father’s death. Her mother, hoping to dispense with her guardianship duties and return quickly to their country manor, arranges a match for Lucinda with the Marquis of Quorndon, son of her oldest friend, believing he’ll be the perfect match for her daughter.

Lucinda has dreamt for years of having a season and of finding love, but although Quorndon is indeed a nice enough gentleman, he’s too flawless, too perfect and there’s no ‘spark’ between them.

Gerald, Earl Elliott, is dealing with the demands of his recently widowed mother, who wants to remodel their entire London home according to her taste.  Once he marries he plans to live his own life and travel frequently – his mother will then have her own dower house – but until then he caters to  her whims. Marriage has much been on his mind lately, but he has a tendency to fall for the wrong women – usually those who’ve been recently engaged or married. When Lady Lucinda comes to town, Gerald is happy to watch over her as a favor to a friend, completely unaware of the fact that Lucinda has always carried a torch for him.  Now that they’re regularly thrown together, her crush is only growing and he is alarmingly aware of his own growing feelings for Yet Another Engaged Woman.

Lucinda gets to work to find Quorndon a true love match to get her out of the betrothal while trying to ignore her attraction to Gerald, while Gerald tries to work out how he can woo her without upsetting Lucinda’s mother or  angering the close friend who asked him to look out for her.

Lucinda is bright and mischievous in the Emma mold; she knows her fate is marriage and a family, but she’ll be damned if she won’t be with someone who, at the very least, likes to go horseback riding and admires art as much as she does.  She’s worth rooting for, and definitely worth falling in love with.

As poor, semi-luckless Gerald quickly discovers!   He knows how to commandeer his fate, if not his heart (and certainly not the spirited Lucinda), and watching him try to figure out where his loyalties and his affections lie is quite a lot of fun.  He’ll do anything for Lucinda, no matter what.

The romance is wonderfully paced in general. Gerald catches up to Lucinda’s crush quickly enough, and the two of them try to fight through it, but naturally they succumb, falling for each other during visits to Almacks, rides in the park and trips to museums.  It’s a love built on commonality as well as attraction, and eventually it’s impossible to deny that they belong together.

Our supporting characters are fun – fussy Quordon and his eventual squeeze, a spinster who yearns for a kind man draw sympathy from the reader, and Lucinda’s mother remains the same overbearing, well-meaning but ridiculous woman she was in the previous three books. I was disappointed that Gerald’s mother came off as more bloodless in the end, but she’s a very minor part of the story.

My principal complaints are that the plot resolution feels somewhat rushed and so does does the novella’s sole sex scene, which seems to have been plugged into the proceedings in order to fulfill its sensuality level instead of the demands of the plot.  I know that it’s a novella and thus must be brief, but our idyll with Lucinda and Gerald was so enjoyable that they deserved better pacing.

A fun and entertaining story that doesn’t quite work as a standalone, there’s an appealing lightness to I’ll Always Love You.   It’s downright adorable as a comedy of manners, and very entertaining as a romance.

I just loved this book! I think it is now my absolute favorite! The author's characterization skills are phenomenal. She has the knack of being able to make her characters very realistic. No cookie-cutter characters here. They are not all sweet and full of fluff. No there are some mean ones, some very stubborn ones, some pathetically clueless ones, as well as strong and forthright ones. This just makes the conflict in the story that much more real, which, in turn, makes the resolution of the conflict Thank you Netgalley for letting me read it

This is a lovely well written story. Lucinda finds out her mother has certain arrangements for her. Lucinda decides she is going to chance those plans. The plot gets a little tense for awhile, but Lucinda finds a way to make everyone happy including her herself.

Plot: 3/5 While Lucinda’s mother is quick to make her a match that neither party is truly fond of, her brother’s friend Gerald agrees to watch out for Lucinda during the season. While attending parties together feelings develop between the pair. Can Gerald stay away from his friend’s little sister? Can Lucinda convince her mother that Lord Elliot is the right one for her?

Personal Review: It was a very quick read, not apart of the main series and can be read easily as a stand alone. That said, I enjoyed the characters far more than the story itself. If you're looking for something light and fun, this is the book for you.

Enjoyed the book. It was well written and entertaining in that it revolves around Lucinda and her desire to learn more about Gerald, Earl Elliott. Gerald is on the hunt for a wife and Lucinda is coming to think they will well suit each other. As Lucinda’s brother asks Gerald to help keep an eye on her during her first season he is starting they are well matched. There is s HEA but there is a lot that happens first. I would recommend this book as a good read.

In a bit of an extension from The Worthington series, this is a little gem .
I wonderfully sweet romance , of an Earl looking after his friends sister during her first season .
It’s tense in parts with a sweet and loving romance to get you teeth into , what more could you want .
Very readable and thoroughly enjoyable .

I loved Gerald and Lucinda's story. Sometimes love is right in front of you and it takes a while to realize that is what it is. Ms. Quinn does a remarkable job in making the reader laugh, as well as feel you are right there with the characters. I cannot wait for her next book!

I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I'll Always Love You is a short Novella by Ella Quinn usually I love Ella Quinn's books however this one fell short for me. While novellas all have a problem of characters be underdeveloped because of the length of the novel this one felt especially bland. I didn't care about the characters at all and they felt very one-dimensional and honestly if this book hadn't been so short I probably would not have bothered to finish it.

I’m not sure if this is supposed to be a novella, but it feels like one. It's well done, but slightly truncated. I enjoyed it. There’s only one sex scene at the end and it wasn’t very graphic.

I love Ella's books usually but this #5.5 of The Worthingtons was only a "nice" read.
The leads -Lucinda, the sister of the Duke of Rothwell, and Gerald, who is her brother's good friend. Her mother is kind of the pest or let us say overbearing, she wants to get her off the marriage marked ASAP because she already knows who the right husband will be. She doesn't give a damn about he daughters feelings. The girl wants to have her season, her mother doesn't want to go to London at all. Her sister in law is pregnant with her first child and is able to force Lucinda's mother to chaperone Lucinda.
Gerald always falls in love with women who are already or nearly engaged. Will it be different this time?

It was a nice and short novel but sometimes a big confusing in my opinion. The last quarter of the novel seemed rushed ...- the end didn't make me happy nor did the dialogues.

This was a pretty simple clean book. This was part of a series but I didn't know that, and the way that the author writes you are not lost she explains who is who. So we meet Lady Lucinda who is about to have her season debut, but her mother has already set up a betrothal to the son of one her friends and because she doesn't want to go to the Tons parties because of the past scandals. Her brother asks one of his friends Gerold (Lord Elliott) to watch out for her, and you know how that will go. Lucinda is attracted in Gerold and he is the one she is going to go after. Since her mother is insisting she marry Lord Quonton she has to come up with a plan to have him fall in love with someone else and finds the perfect candidate.

Gerald, Lord Elliott is finally willing to settle down and search for a wife this Season. When his good friend, the Duke of Rothwell, asks him to watch over his sister, Lady Lucinda Hughlot, Gerald thinks it will be a good way to see if any of the debutantes catch his eye. What he doesn't expect is that he likes Lucinda more each time they spend time together. Lucinda's mother is determined to have her marry her friend's son. Can Gerald win Lucinda's hand without offending either Rothwell or Lucinda's mother?

This was a very quick read. I did enjoy it, but after some leisurely scenes with Gerald and Lucinda, I felt the ending was very rushed. There was no real obstacle except for Lucinda's mother disapproval preventing them from being together and when the storyline jumped ahead a few weeks, Lucinda and Gerald were declaring their love for each other. There was a quick sex scene and the book was basically over. I would have liked more in the second half of the book. I realize this was a novella, but the ending left much to be desired.

I have to say I enjoyed this book but....it didn’t have the same depth as some of Ella Quinn’s other books. All the usual requirements were there-Lucinda’s first season, her mother plotting her marriage with the son of an old friend, her brother asking one of his friends to help look after her. But I felt something was missing. It was too predictable.

This book features Lucinda, sister to the Duke of Rothwell, but with her terribly overbearing mother as a guardian, and Gerald, Earl Elliott. Lucinda's mother is eager to facilitate a match between her daughter and her friend's son, a marquess, despite the fact that the two have nothing in common, so that she can return to the country. Lucinda, however, is eager to have her season, and her brother and sister-in-law conspire to make that happen. Gerald has finally decided he would like to settle down and find a wife, if for no other reason than to get his mother to move out of his house. As the season begins Gerald, a friend of the heroine's brother, agrees to help look after Lucinda during the season's events, and therefore winds up spending a lot of time with her and discovering many common interests.

This was a quick, entertaining read, but some of the narrative was a bit confusing and hard to follow. I also felt like the ending and resolution was rushed, even for a novella. Before I knew it, the storyline had jumped ahead several weeks and yet not much had changed or developed for the characters. Then we got this rushed ending, a quick and rather perfunctory steamy scene with some rather cheesy dialogue, and bam, end of book. Other than those issues, this was a good read. If you're looking for a quick, light read, I'd recommend this one.

I adored this story. We have seen Gerald previously and bless his heart, he just cannot catch a break. This story reminds me of old Hollywood movies where the characters try their hand at matchmaking to avoid their own parents matchmaking schemes. A very cute story of Lucinda and Gerald. Note that this is a novella and works right into the Worthington world.

Gerald, Earl Elliott, has decided this is the season he will hopefully find a bride. In the past, he has only seemed to want the women after they became unavailable. This time Elliott determines to find a good one before she gets snapped up by someone else. When the Duke of Rothwell, a good friend, asks Elliott to help him with his sister, Lucinda's, comeout, that only serves to aid him in his endeavors. Attending balls to help keep an eye on Lucinda will give Elliott a chance to be around other eligible young ladies.

Lucinda has been looking forward to her first Season. She becomes less excited, however, when her mother tries to pair her off with the Marquis of Quorndon before it has even begun. Lucinda wants to find her own husband. Elliott seems like he'd make a prime candidate, but finding out if he is the one might be a challenge. And it will certainly be a trial considering her mother's low opinion of him.

Although I'LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU by author Ella Quinn is a novella, I enjoyed it very much. I do feel it was a little rushed toward the end, but I know getting to the point of HEA must be tough since it doesn't have the development time a novel would have. However, I felt that Lucinda and Elliott's story was pretty believable. Lucinda is a smart and determined young lady. She knows what she wants early on. Elliott was a little slower on the draw. He has this wrong-headed idea of what love is and how he'll just know when he finds the one. Boy, is he wrong. It took him a little bit to see what was right in front of his eyes, but that only made I'LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU all the more entertaining. Fans of Ms. Quinn's WORTHINGTONS series won't want to miss it.

Ella Quinn is just delightful. This is a quick, sweet novella and part of The Worthingtons series. Not necessary to read in order, but they are all "worth" reading.

When I saw a book by Ella Quinn up for request on Netgalley, I couldn't resist requesting it. I have to admit that so far I've only read one other, but getting more in the series has been high on my list of books to read. This is a novella, rather than a full-length novel, but it fits into The Worthington's series. You don't need to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one.
I really liked the idea behind this story. Earl Elliot is keen to find a wife. He seems to only notice women might be of interest when it's to late and they've already met and fallen in love with someone else. He's concerned that he might not recognise the woman who he should marry until it's too late. He has also been asked to keep an eye on his friend, the Duke of Rothwell's younger sister.
Lucinda is having her first season in London. She's keen to find a husband, but not necessarily the one that her mother has chosen for her. Instead, she finds herself interested in her brother's friend Earl Elliot.
I really liked the way that Lucinda quickly decided that she was interested in Elliot, but it took him a while longer to realise that she might be the one. This was really quite a sweet story and I really enjoyed it. It may have only been a novella, but it was still satisfying and I'm still keen to read other books in the series.

You can always rely on Ella Quinn to write an intelligent romance story. I have never been disappointed in any of her books. This does make me wish i would have started at the first novel and went from there. I will try to do that anyway. I read so many historical novels and i miss some sometimes. But i hope to not miss any of Ms. Quinn's. Some of the author's books are light on historical imagery and details but the romance always makes up for it. I would not hesitate to recommend her books to anyone who likes to read Regency or Victorian novels. The hero in this story was not all that i would have liked, but that is personal preference. He in no way took away from the plot or being able to fully visualize and feel like you are there. The heroine was also somewhat mediocre but again, together the hero/heroine meshed well and elevated the story. Again, i would recommend this to anyone who enjoys love stories.
