For every romantic hearted person out there this book is for you. There are a centuries worth of photo's of people kissing. These are taken from old photo's, postcards, and more. Some of taken in odd situations, some are very comical. But either way this book brought a smile to my face, and images in my head of my husband and I not just kissing in our home but also being the characters in the photo's

I love photography books and the subject matter of this one made it one of my top reads this year.

Thanks Netgalley for letting me read this book.

Nice photos, but that's really all this book amounts to. If those photos had been accompanied by the stories behind them, or by essays about kissing/PDA throughout history, it would have been way more interesting. Needed more context.

People Kissing: A Century of Photographs

A sweet book of photos from the last hundred years of people in all sorts of situations kissing. I found this book charming and a stroll back through history to turn its pages and wander down the years. It portrays people embracing and sharing a kiss, many are lovely old vintage photos. There is also text on the subject of kisses to set the stage. It fulfilled my expectations well for this type of photo book. It doesn’t take long to enjoy this if you are considering it. It is worth a look, for sure, or you may linger if you like. My thanks for the advance electronic copy that was provided by NetGalley, authors Barbara Levine & Paige Raimey, and the publisher for my fair review.

A delight to flip through and imagine the stories behind the images. The variety of individuals and situations involved in the kissing kept my interest all the way through. A very pleasant evening's read!

I am nothing if not romantic, so eagerly swept up “People Kissing: A Century of Photographs” by Barbara Levine and Paige Raimey. The concept thrilled me and I’ve loved all the offerings from Princeton Architectural Press. That said, I had a sense of caution when looking at the cover, which seemed too subdued for a dyed-in-pink personne amoureuse. And the book’s execution continued that hesitation for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I found this to be a truly amazing collection of kissing shots ... men with women, parents with children, men with men, women with women, children kissing pets. But the presentation wasn’t romantic enough for me, alas. Which I attribute to my particular weltanschauung. Nonetheless, for the concept and the sheer amassment of shots, I give “People Kissing” a 3/5.

When I read the description of this book, I knew I had to read it. Thankfully my request was approved.
I adore taking photos. I adore looking at black and white. I adore looking at photos of long past. Each photo and person always has a story to tell. Each time I look at an old photo, I always ask questions about them to myself creating stories in my head. This book did not fail me. Where on the earth did the authors find these wonderful photos.? Did a great job! There are stories in them. I enjoyed the book immensely.
I received this ARC from Net Galley and Princeton Architectural Press for my honest review. Thank you!
