When reading this book, one thing comes to mind. To overcome others is ordinary, to overcome oneself is extraordinary. This book shows how to overcome oneself! It tells how one can one really learn to go through obstacles and trials and turn them into the amazing opportunities of life!

Having a current and past background in many lessons of self awareness classes that I take, this book brings home a message of trueness to oneself.

To rediscover God through all life's lessons is clearly displayed in this novel! I gave an honest review in exchange for this amazing and delightful novel! This could get 10 Stars if 10 were available! What a great read!

Schmidt's book tells simplified tales of nine people who never gave up. These people are: Nelson Mandela, Les Brown, Rolland and Heidi Baker, Loren Cunningham, Bill Johnson, Dr. Sandra Kennedy, Canon Andrew White, William Paul Young, and Desmond Tutu. I found the biographies interesting, but a little too simplified. While this is marketed as a religious/spiritual book, I was expecting some connection between the individual and their belief, but was not prepared for nearly half of each chapter to be dedicated to similar biblical stories. Comparing Mandela to Moses and Joseph was a bit odd to me, but I am sure it will make sense to some readers.

Thank you NetGalley and Lion Hudson for the opportunity to read an advance reader copy.

The premise of this book was intriguing to me, but the actual book was a letdown. I found it to be unrelatable, even though the writing was good.

Odd book. Based around biographies and theology. It was an okay read. However I can’t say I enjoyed it. Thank to both NetGalley and Lion Hudson Ltd for my ARC in exchange for my honest unbiased review.

This book by Uta Schmidt is concise work, which aims to deliver pearls of wisdom from the lives of 9 great leaders of our time and aims to provide wisdom for common beings, who are facing their own difficult curves of life.
Book is divided into nine chapters and uses interviews of leaders and their books to decipher how they thrived in the times of personal disasters. How they still managed to work for others.
Book is easy to read, simple and enjoyable most of the time. Anybody who has interest in theology and biographies, will like this read.
Parts describing Nelson Mandela, Andrew White, William Paul young and Desmond Tutu are best segments and are quite insightful and enjoyable.
Other parts are at points slow and appear stretched and you tend to feel good again when chapters on Andrew white and Paul Young start.
Anybody with scientific mind might feel unattached to areas of book describing visions and callings. If you are looking for self help book, this one has lots of theology in it.
Overall it's a nice read with its own difficult pages, interspersed with very good parts.
