This book reminds me of those calendars, where there is something written each day and then you tear off the page. I enjoyed reading the various blessings or benedictions for each day. They are simple but make you think and ponder how they fit in your life. There is no day or year, just the month and date, so this is a book that could be reread or passed on. I read one a day when I could, but sometimes read a few. I found when I did that, some were a bit repetitious, but when spreading them out, I did not notice it at all. Overall, this is a book for those who want to read a blessing per day and think about God's presence in their lives. Ideal for busy people.

I have been following Malcolm Duncan’s NiteBlessings on Facebook for some time now after hearing him speak at Spring Harvest. This book collects together some of those I may have read and some I certainly have not and puts them all in one place. A peaceful and reflective way to end busy days reminding myself that I am loved and blessed,

I absolutely love this little book! A short snippet of a beautiful blessing to read every night before falling asleep. These will surely bring comfort and peace to so many. I’ll be giving these out as gifts throughout the year ahead.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The author portrayed lovingly and in a caring way how God has blessed and will bless all who are faithful and walk in the footsteps of Jesus.

This was truly a 24/7 blessing! So glad to have read this compilation and be able to give an honest review in exchange for this book! It was way more than 5 stars and full of compassion and peace!

I've enjoyed dipping into this book, it's lovely to just amble through it. I've put it by my bed now and started reading a blessing every night. It makes me feel good before I go to sleep.

This is an amazing book that allows you to read a short blessing each night. Malcolm has been doing this for sometime on social media but this puts them all in one place. It doesn’t matter if you miss a night as you just pick up on the correct day next time. I have heard Malcolm speak as well as read some of his other Christian books and although this one is different I can still hear Malcolm’s voice as I read each one. So after a long day if you need some encouragement or hope this is a go to read. The only slight negative is that if you are reading via an e-reader then you have to flip all the way to the correct date, well only if you are starting now in December.

I first came across Malcolm Duncan’s #niteblessings via his Facebook page and Twitter. He shared through social media that his nite blessings were going to be put together as a gift book. So, when his book became available to request through NetGalley in return for an honest review, I jumped at the chance to read it. I was not disappointed.

There are 365 blessings to be read. They have the day and the month so you can either can dip into the book and read whichever one you like or, as I prefer, read the blessing for that day. They are not dated for a particular year so they have the added bonus for being suitable for any year which means they can be read and re-read.

I read this on my kindle but, in my opinion, it is far better as a hardcover book, especially as it includes photos throughout. I like the idea of having it beside my bed for easy reach as I settle down for the night so that it is the last thing I think about before I shut my eyes.

For the majority of us, life is busy and can be stressful. We can find it hard to relax and rest and difficult to switch off at night. I believe this book will be a blessing to those who do feel stressed and have difficulty sleeping.

To read a blessing just before settling down for the night will help the reader to re-focus on God so that their thoughts are on him, rather than on their worries. It can be an aid to help align their perspective with God’s. I believe these blessings encourage you to hand your concerns over to God and can help bring peace to your mind and therefore aid sleep. Even if you are someone who wakes up during the night with worries whirling through your mind, if this book is right by your bed, you can pick it up, re-read the blessing for that day and think on what God has to say.

The Bible tells us:

“Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [centre your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].” Philippians 4:8 (AMP)

Malcolm Duncan’s book helps us to do just that.

I love this book with short blessings for each day. Since the messages are dated, I started near the back with October. It only takes a minute or two to read them, and they are written in a style that makes me think someone is saying a blessing over me. So many of them resonated with me that I want to get a copy of this in hardcover, so I can highlight readings and turn down page corners in order to easily find the ones I like best. (I only do this with my very favorite books; ordinarily, I am a very careful reader and most of my books look new even when read more than once.)

The problem I found with the netgalley copy is that the dates are not in order. I started with October and they are all over the place after the 13th. This is October: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 16th, 14th, 17th, 15th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 23rd, 21st, 24th, 22nd, 25th, 26th, 29th, 27th, 30th, 28th, 31st.

I hope they fixed this.

An interesting book. Each day is a short blessing that gives you the opportunity to ponder a simple thought, I liked it.
