Thank you NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for this DRC,

This is an adorable picture book about saying goodnight.
This cute little chickadee running all over the place to kiss her friends goodnight and make sure they are all settled in for slumber.
Lots of different animals get introduced in this book, so it's both sweet and educational.
This would be a lovely little story to read tiny humans before bedtime.

Illustrations were simple but the jest of the story was cute. A gentle read before bedtime when a snuggle and a kiss are needed after a long day . Animals like people like to be loved and what a great way to show this through animals .

A Hundred Kisses Before Bedtime is a sweet picture book about a chick that goes around giving other animals goodnight kisses.
The simple one-dimensional illustrations complement this story well. Suitable to be read to a kid at bedtime.
Thank you Netgalley and Clavis Publishing for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I viewed this book a few times as it didn't have illustrations. I had to imagine the artwork, I did rather like the way the little chick talked with the friends however the first time I read it, the flow of the verses seemed to run on. I presume that once illustrations are provided on the pages it might keep a young child's attention. I did like the title. Night time books are always a good selection for age 2 - 4. If the words are combined with colorful drawings of animals.

The book A Hundred Kisses Before Bedtime was a sweet and cute story, where a small chicken goes around to do just that. Kiss other animals goodnight. Chick goes out of his way to make sure that he kisses every animal, to quote the book, he kisses the ones that swim, hop, swing in trees, nibble on tree leaves, stomp in the mud, run through meadows and playfully tinker with mice.
Chick is a brave little one as he starts his goodnight ritual by kissing a crocodile goodnight.
As said, the story itself was cute, but the illustrations could definitely be better and unfortunately they are quite distracting.
They're not drawn to scale and some of them you can barely recognize.

Get ready to pucker up because at the end of this book that's exactly what you will have to do. A big good night kiss plant and a loving tuck-in is what will be required for sure.

Little Chick cannot possibly go to bed without his nightly ritual of kissing all the animals good night and making sure that they too are safely heading off to bed.

"I'm really good at giving kisses. Every night I make sure all the animals get a good-night kiss. Then they can sleep tight."

Tiny smoochers will identify with Chick as the story unfolds. He kisses animals that swim, hop, swing in trees, nibble on tree leaves, stomp in the mud, run through meadows and playfully tinker with mice, just to cite a few. Little ones will love identifying the animals in their habitats and helping Chick out with his before-bedtime mission.

He kisses so many critters that it tires him out. He returns to his own mother's comforting kiss, snuggles into her and falls fast asleep. Mission complete!

This adorable kissing machine and his antics will be a hit with kissers ages 12 months and up. Everyone can identify that after a busy day nothing is more calming and wonderful than to end it with a kiss and the warmhearted words... good night. Moooaahhha!

A small chick does exactly as the title says, but rather than giving them all to one person, the kisses are spread around, starting with a crocodile! You would think that would be the last kiss in that short life, but in this world crocs don’t eat. Pigs mix with giraffes, monkeys, and lions; there’s even a penguin! Most of the animals have to be in on it, otherwise the chick couldn’t reach high enough for a peck. On the other hand, rarely are the animals, especially the elephant, drawn to scale when compared to the future chicken.
The chick tells the dog good night, but the sun is high in the sky behind them.
Quite a few animals need to be told to shut up.
It’s all really sweet, but you just know kids are smart enough to see the inherent logic problems and ask their nonplussed parents.

Little chick goes around giving a good night kiss to a lot of animals and birds. Their activities are commented upon. Simple illustrations. Being a nocturnal bird, the owl should have been avoided.

The version that was sent to my kindle didn't have pictures, but I assume the actual book has them. This made it hard to really review, but the story seems sweet.

A pleasant lullaby, as a little chick goes through a whole menagerie of animals, complaining about their activity and wakefulness, and kissing them asleep. There's a heck of a lot of them to kiss, too, as we lose all sense of geography and realism – but that's not the point. The point is this book drives you to share a loving attitude with someone as they fall asleep, which is all they would want. Certainly the artwork is on the naive side, so neither that nor the text will vex them as they doze off.

A cute book that may convince the little one to finally go to sleep. Easy language, but rich enough to develop emotional intelligence and to start a conversation with your child about various animals and diverse families.

A Hundred Kisses Before Bedtime
by Mack van Gageldonk
Clavis Publishing

A good bedtime story helps a child wind-down for the night without being boring or condescending. “A Hundred Kisses Before Bedtime” is an excellent book for preschoolers who are still eager to get a nice goodnight story but need something a little more complex than “Goodnight Moon.” van Gageldonk speaks to a child’s natural love of animals while reinforcing how bedtime is a wonderful time to show love to your friends and family. This book is a great addition to a young child’s bedtime routine.
