Prayers and Promises for a Hurting World by Laura Freudig is a collection of prayers with a verse at the end of each one. This book is a really handy tool for anyone going through difficult times. I highly suggest using sticky notes to bookmark your favorite prayers so you can quickly flip to them in your time of need.

I am a firm believer in prayers being personal. However, when the pain is so great it's hard to find the words to say. This book gives you the words. I highly suggest adding on to these prayers and personalizing them to your current situation.

The verses are also very wonderful. They correspond to the prayer and are very encouraging. If you are going through a struggling time you may want to put these all over the house.

Bottom line: we all struggle. This book will help you find the words when you are going through those times. It's great for yourself or as a gift. I encourage picking up two. Keep one for yourself and give the other to whomever you are led to.

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for this honest review.

Everyone who feels alone and in despair should get this book. I read the first time all the way through but have kept and went back and did random views. Its really like yours praying with another person.

This is a book everybody needs to read. It feels like a friend is sitting there with you, praying and giving you encouragement You can read them in order or choose what you need to hear. The book is broke down in different sections and each prayer has a title and a bible verse to go with it. At the back of the book is a Read Your Bible In A Year plan. Each day has a reading from the Old Testament, New Testament and Psalms or Proverbs. This is a very good book. Thank you Barbour Publishing via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

Oh, who _doesn't_ need this book these days? There are several short prayers included to help remind you that, even though the world seems to be falling apart at the seams, God is still there. You can read them straight through or follow my preferred method of prayer-roulette....opening to a random day and knowing that you're going to see the message you need to see then.
