I really thought I would like this book but I just didn't like Miles the main character. She was ridiculous and annoying. In the end I prepared Lars better then her.

"On the Same Page" tells the story of Miles Franklin, a lawyer by day and historical romance writer by night. She is the daughter of a very famous writer and a poet who are literary snobs and absolutely abhor everything that is not pretentious (or that was my take on it). Miles' assistant Pippy enters her boss's novel in one of Australia’s biggest literary awards which she to everyone's surprise wins. This bring chaos to Miles orderly life, because she still wants to protect her secret but at the same times is faced with contracts and lawyers who do not want the same thing.
I really enjoyed this book as it was an entertaining story. The author had a great idea because as an avid romance reader I have faced a lot of criticism over my choice of reading. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be for a writer who has grown up with snobbish parents. Miles had a sucky family which affected her in a lot of ways. I felt like everything she did was influenced by her childhood and I would have liked if we had seen some character growth. There was a lot of going back and forth over different decisions and even though she had no self confidence she was also in a sense a bit self absorbed. I did enjoy other minor characters in the book and thought they were a big part of why I liked this story.

This book was ok very well written but not really my type of book. This is miles and Lars book, Miles is a lawyer and a famous author writing under the pen name of Emma Browning she doesn't want anyone to know she's the famous author! But her assistant enters her in Australia biggest literary award program behind her back and she wins! She's trying to keep Emma a secret but Lars the CEO of iconic international publishing smells a rat! He's determined to find out just who Emma is! Like I said it's a very well written book and funny, smart, and a cute story just not my kind of book! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
