How can a fictional family feel so real? How can Cole be graduating high school? How can Karen Kingsbury make me cry yet renew my hope every time? This story was so real and wonderfully balanced. Cole is focused so much on having the perfect senior year but things take a turn when Elise, the new girl, sits beside him in science class. Cole is instantly smitten. Elise came to Bloomington to escape an abusive relationship and to rediscover the girl she lost. Decisions made in hurt can have huge consequences and promises made prematurely can too. This story is one of first love, redemption, faith, firsts and lasts and most importantly following God’s will in your life. Beautifully written, heart-wrenchingly moving.

Two Weeks is book about the Baxter family who is well known from Kingsbury's writing. The book can easily act as a standalone book as well.
Cole is now a high school senior, with college plans and a career in medicine ahead of him. He meets Elise, a new student who has moved to town to escape a situation that was not the best for her. They immediately bonded and became quick friends. Elise is shocked to find out that she is pregnant from the abusive boyfriend that she had escaped. Cole is a rock for her in this situation, promising to stick with her whether she decides to keep the baby or give it up for adoption. A quick read.

Two Weeks by Karen Kingsbury is a true to life fiction book. It is well written. It is a stand alone Baxter family book Cole Baxter is Ashley and Landon Baxter's 18 year old son who is a senior in high school and planning on studying medicine at Liberty University. He meets Elise who is new at his school. He is very attracted to her personality and physically. Elise wants to study art in New York in her future. Early in their relationship Elise finds out she is pregnant from a former abusive boyfriend . . Elise is presented with lots of questions after she finds out she is pregnant. She is adjusting to her body changes but also when she is going to tell her mother, aunt and uncle , Cole , if she is going to keep the baby or put the baby up for adoption. Cole is supportive right away but later thinks if He can really give up his future medicine career to support Elise and her baby. His parents are very supportive of Elise and Cole. Elise is referred to an adoption attorney to help with her adoption decision. The adoption attorney told her about a couple who had struggled with infertility for 10 years. The wife is an OB nurse at the hospital Cole and Elise are volunteering at and the husband is an administrator at the same hospital. Elise leaves with questions about if she should or should not adopt. The book leave the reader with real world questions about real situations. The reader can see how difficult the situations are . The book constantly refers to Christian truth and principles. What will happen with Cole , Elise, the couple who are struggling with infertility? I appreciate Howard books letting me read and review this book. I just love how the title is truly incorporated into the storyline.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I read this book with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. It's heartbreaking yet hopeful and has instantly become one of Karen's best works, in my opinion. Karen Kingsbury tackles the hard subjects with such beauty and hope. Although this story was very sad at times, it focuses on things that happen every single day in our world. People are hurting immensely in many different painful situations. Karen's writing is so important because it shows the reader how to rely on God to get through the hard times. I am so honored to have been able to receive an advance copy of this book. Thank you to netgalley, the publisher, and most of all to Karen Kingsbury for changing lives for the Lord with your beautiful words.

When I first learned that Karen Kingsbury was going to have a new book come out, I was so excited. I have read many of her other books and this book was like no other. With being a family who is looking into adoption this book really took to my heart a lot. I feel like this book pulled at my heartstrings but in a good way. If you want to read a book that is positive and shares with you what it feels like to be a couple wanting to adopt then read this amazing book! Karen did not disappoint this go round and now I'll have to get the book in paperback when it's released in April!

Karen Kingsbury is an author that does not sugar coat anything related to hardships and has a unique way of turning fictional characters into family members that we really feel like are our own.

Elise has one goal in mind. NYU. She's a painter through and through and nothing is going to stop her from accomplishing her dream. That is, until she finds out that she's pregnant by her abusive ex-boyfriend. That's when her world crashes and she's faced with a decision...let the baby live and raise it, let it be adopted out, or get an abortion.

Cole has never felt anything like the way he feels for Elise. He sees her struggling with decisions and wants to help her. Even if it means giving up his own dream to marry her and raise another man's child. He's determined to stand by Elise no matter what she decides to do.

Lucy and Aaron have unsuccessfully tried to adopt or get pregnant for ten years with no results and endless heartbreak. Aaron knows that God has timing and in due time, they will have a baby of their own. Lucy, however, finds her faith waning.

This is a very moving story of love, faith, and family. Heartwarming to the core and a great new addition to the Baxter series. If you've been a Baxter fan since the beginning or just picking up with them for the first time, I'm sure you will like this as much as I have.

This book is appropriate for ages 16+ for mature content involving teenage sex (non-graphic) and teenage pregnancy.

Another wonderful Karen Kingsbury book. I have read the Baxter series and loved it but if you are new to the family, you wont be bm lost with this installment. The story is wonderful and it will make your heart sad when it's over. You will miss your friends unt the next book. Thanks to netgalley for hosting me with the arc of this book. This is one of my favorite Karen Kingsbury books. You do not have to be a regular reader of the Baxter Family to understand what is going on. I enjoyed the connection between the all of the characters and the decision process that Elise went through. I definitely recommend this book.

I absolutely loved this book. I did not want it to end. I love the Baxter Family and I feel like they are family friends. I can’t wait to read more on Cole and Elise. I have read all of Karen’s books she is one of my favorite authors and never disappoints!!

I have been a huge Karen Kingsbury fan for years . I have loved the Baxter family through the years and I couldn’t wait for Cole to get his own story , he was always a amazing child, in his personality and in his faith .

This is Coles senior year in high school, he is planning to graduate and attend Liberty University as a premed student , he has been focused and sure of that path for years now, that is until he meets and falls in love with Elise.
Elise is living with her aunt and uncle , after her mom sent her to Bloomington to start over with a clean slate because Elise was going through a rebellious stage in her life . When she meets Cole she finally knows what love and God look like. She’s happier than she’s ever been, two months into her friendship with Cole , she discovers that her rebellious ways have followed her and she is pregnant with her abusive ex boyfriends baby.
Cole, being the Cole we all know and love, vows to stand by her.

Have the tissues ready because this book has so many emotions and ups and downs and the reminder that God is the ultimate storyteller !

This is another book about the Baxter family. The main Baxter in this one is Cole who is Ashley's son. We first met Cole when he was a toddler some 15 years ago. Cole is all grown up and has an instant attract to Elise, a transfer student from Louisiana. She had moved to Indiana to finish high school to escape an abusive boyfriend. Soon after their friendship is under way Elise discovers she is pregnant. The majority is the book is Elise suffering turmoil on whether or not she will keep the baby or give her child up to a loving childless couple. She waffles back and forth about what she wants to do. There is a tragic event in town that affects some of her decision making however I wish the author had used some other means rather than this tragic event to affect her way of thinking. This tragic event was just too sad for me. Anyway the title of this book is Two Weeks and this means that Elise has two weeks after the birth of her child to decide whether or not to keep the baby or give it up. This book was well written and I connected with the characters quickly. I hope we see Elise and Cole again. I would love to know what is in their future.
