Bored senseless through the first twenty-percent of this book, and with no hope of it getting better, I decided to put it down and move on.

I wish the author well, but this is not a book for me.

St. Nicholas Salvage & Wrecking by Dana Haynes is a brilliantly crafted thriller. It has all the action, adventure and intrigue you would expect plus two incredible leading characters that make you want to see them succeed. Highly recommend. I’ve not read anything by this author before but you can be sure I will be checking them out now.

Thank you NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for this arc.

I've enjoyed this authors previous 4 books more than this one. That's not to say this was a bad book at all. The main characters were certainly interesting and larger than life. The action seemed to be non-stop a la "Rambo".... the pacing was fast and furious. But overall the plot felt like it had gaps. It was definitely an action / adventure story and to either keep the action going (or the size of the book manageable ) it felt like large "chunks" were missing. It held my attention all the way through and was entertaining, escapist reading. But I somehow doubt I'll remember much of it next week.

2.5 stars rounded up.
