A fantastic sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas. Although, this was a quick read it did not disappoint. The illustrations really made the whole story and I cannot wait to continue the story with the next installment hopefully.

This collects issue 0 - 4 of Zero's journey.

Zero gets lost in Christmas town and has to find a way to make it back to Jack. Beautiful artwork.

I've been a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas for years, so when I saw there was a comic focusing on Zero I was really intrigued, unsure if it would live up to the hype of that I think the movie is. I'm happy to say it did. The characters were well written, the plot line is solid, and the artwork is absolutely amazing. I couldn't wait to read the next page to see how this would end. 4 out of 5 stars.

This was alright, but geared more towards younger children not older fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas. The plot is pretty simple and revived almost all the characters from the classic movie. Somewhat underwhelming.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review which has not altered my opinion of this book.

I absolutely love The Nightmare Before Christmas and I really love the fact that Zero has his own story now! This book is short and cute and really was quite lovely. It follows Zero as he gets sucked into Christmastown and attempts to make his way back to Halloweentown. There isn't much I can say yet because its super short and I'm not sure how many there are going to be. The story is good but not incredible, I'm hoping that we will end up learning more about actual characters. We shall see!

Overall, I highly recommend this story for small children it's quite cute! 4.5 out of 5 from me!

A heart warming story for The nightmare before Christmas fans, recommended specially to dog lovers!
Jack has neglected Zero, and he’s feeling lonely and wanders around Halloween town and goes to Christmas town, where he finds all sorts of characters. I really enjoy the art and story. Looking forward to the second book!

Released to coincide with both the Halloween and Christmas seasons is Tokyopop’s graphic novel sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas – Zero’s Journey by D.J. Milky. This middle-grade volume is book one of what will be a four-book series collecting 20 issues of the comic book series.

Set shortly after the movie, Jack is preoccupied with creating a portal to allow him to travel to any of the Holiday Worlds and is ignoring Zero in the process. After being guilt-tripped by his ghostly hound, the two play a game of fetch that results in an accident and Zero being transported off to the woods, where he quickly finds himself stuck in Christmas Town. Soon, Zero is floating around the town, getting up to mischief and making new friends; meanwhile, Jack is frantic with worry about his missing best friend and recruits Lock, Shock, and Barrel to retrieve him while he is stuck in a vital town meeting. What could go wrong?

Although it’s always difficult to review a partial story such as this, Zero’s Journey is already a fun story and it has a lot of potential to get even better. The look and feel of the artwork is in keeping with the original movie, and I loved the way it shifts in tone and brightness between the Christmas Town and Halloween Town scenes. Zero is utterly adorable (as always), the new characters fit perfectly into the NBC world (I already love Howly the owl), and the story even occasionally shifts into a rhyming structure reminiscent of the musical portions of the movie.

This book would be great in a list of Halloween reads or Christmas reads and would make an excellent transition between the two holidays. I’m already looking forward to book two.

This was such a fun (and seasonally appropriate!) manga read! I loved that this book centered around my favorite character from Tim Burton's 'The Nightmare Before Christmas': Zero!! He has such a great personality, and is the perfect character to feature in a book! It was also great to see both Halloween and Christmas towns featured in the adventures again. This was a great addition to the world of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King (and one-time Christmas usurper) is busy making plans to connect all the holiday realms--but while playing fetch with Zero one night, the ghostly little dog finds himself sucked into Christmas Land! Zero soon makes new friends who try to help him find his way home, but before Zero can even begin his journey, the tasty smells of Christmas Town cooking distract him. Luckily, Zero’s in a place where only kind, helpful people live--or is he? While most of the residents of Christmas Town seem sweet and gentle, there’s one living gingerbread man that isn’t so welcoming! Great art and a fun story make this graphic novel perfect for The Nightmare Before Christmas fans of all ages.

If you adored The Nightmare Before Christmas and you still want to continue the journey with these quirkisome characters, then this manga book is for you!

Zero's Journey is beautifully illustrated and the colors are wonderful. I was able to follow the story easily. It is adorable. It is what we, the pet owners go through when our pets go missing.

I love Zero! I want him as my pet now!

I've always liked The Nightmare Before Christmas movie. Imagine my delight when I saw this manga novel. I just had to read it despite my age. It's heartwarming, whimsical, feel good reading.

Get this . I promise it won't let you down. Even though it's meant for middle aged kids, any age will enjoy this comic.

I recieved this colorful ARC from Diamond BookDistributors and Tokyopop through Net Galley for my honest review. Thank you!

As someone who grew up with The Nightmare Before Christmas, it was an absolute joy to be re immersed into jacks world. well drawn and an adorable story.

I really enjoyed that this manga was in color. The world of Tim Burton needs the contrast between the Halloween pallet and other holidays to bring the vision to life. I like that they chose Zero as teh main character; he is my favorite character in The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The only negative thing I have to say is that I am so sick of Christmas Town. I want to see new holidays. I want to see the world expand.

This is a cute little story that has great potential to expand the lore ..

This is an adorable graphic novel that fans of Nightmare Before Christmas will love. I really enjoyed the wordless panels from Zero's point-of-view, and the panels with words from other characters have a rhythm and rhyme that fits well with the style of the movie.

I received this comic (or maybe half-manga) from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE The Nightmare Before Christmas and so I was very much excited when I spotted this one on Netgalley.

This one chronicles the adventures of Zero, the adorable ghost dog of Jack Skellington (eeeeee!). We see how Jack is once again struggling to come up with something for Halloween (I say again, though at that time I didn't know this one was a brand-new story, but later on we get confirmation through a story told by someone in Winter/Christmas town, that this one takes place after the movie), Zero is trying all he can to cheer up his owner, which I found adorable! Pets really feel that their owners need some love and care (my hamsters also do the same). Sadly, things go from awww to OMG as Zero get outside and gets lost!

I just loved seeing Christmas/Winter Town again, and also loved that they had forgiven all that Jack (and the monsters) did (though they do seem to have some leftover resentment). I am happy that Zero was able to find someone who took him in and that they could help him out.

Of course, Zero isn't the only character we see, we also get to see how Jack is faring now that Zero has left, how the town is doing (eeeeee, seeing all my favourite characters again and of course that awesome town). Poor Jack though, he is seeing that he did neglect Zero with all his busy Halloween planning.

I was a bit confused, Zero seemed such a nice pup, but as soon as the story told by the lady who took him in is over, he gets to all sorts of naughty things. Eating food, creating mischief, and other things.

I thought this one would be a single volume, but given the ending I am guessing there is going to be more of Zero's journey. On the one hand I am sad, on the other hand, this means I will have much more NBC to read! Yay!

The Cover Gallery and Concept Gallery were such nice additions!

The art was pretty nicely done, I really love the style, it fits so well with the NBC world that I know and love from Tim Burton.

All in all, I hope that the second volume will come out soon, I need to know if that trio can get Zero back (without too much naughtiness), if Zero can escape, and if everyone can find their way home again. I can't wait for Jack and Zero to reunite again.

A cute story that occurs after the events of Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas." We follow Zero as he unexpectedly gets lost in Christmas Town. Jack Skellington becomes frantic over his lost pal and sends three miscreants to find him. Zero learns the true meaning of Christmas and causes a fair amount of mischief. While a cute story as a follow up to the original tale, it would have been suited for a picture book format rather than a manga.

Enjoyable and reminiscent of the film that acts as source material. This book is professionally completed and attractively illustrated. Perfect for classroom, library, or personal bookshelves.

This is the first ever manga I have read and as much as I love Nightmare Before Christmas it will probably be the last one I read as well!
The illustrations are superb and its nice to see Zero as the main character and the story was ok, glad I read it and I am sure if you enjoy manga and NBC then this is a MUST for you guys!
Really good, its just that manga's not for me!

During playtime, Zero gets lost and ends up in Christmas Town. But, after all that has happened between Halloween Town and Christmas Town, who can go bring the sweet pup back to his master?

This is a wonderful spin-off story from the all-time classic movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, with ghost pup Zero being the main hero. It's funny, sweet, and involves all our favorite movie characters. The illustrations are true to the movie and absolutely impeccable.

Strongly recommended for fans of anything Halloween, especially The Nightmare Before Christmas.
