This is a cute story from the world of Nightmare Before Christmas. We follow Zero on an adventure through the portal and into Christmas Town. He meets new friends, and some who are not so friendly. When Jack sends the three trouble-making trick-or-treaters from Halloween to find and bring back Zero, what kinds of chaos will ensue? The illustrations in this story are beautifully done and the entire text gives me the Nightmare Before Christmas fix I've been craving!

OMG i loved this manga! zero is so cute! I felt so bad for him being lost like that though. :( The artwork was wonderful. i even liked the concept art at the back! Wonderful and visionary story.

Fun story of Zero from The Nightmare before Christmas. Jack is being careless with Zero during a game of fetch. Zero gets lost and ends up back in Christmas Town! The story is continued so we don't know his fate just yet.
Gorgeous artwork and storytelling. It felt just like the movie- the characters felt right, the tone, the scenery. I look forward to when more will be released!

Tim Burton's the Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero's Journey
★★★☆☆
112 Pages

While this was excellently illustrated, I found the story panels hard to follow. Using the dog as the main character meant there were few opportunities for speech, a lot of sound captions, and the flow didn't quite feel as easy to follow. While I think fans of the original might like it, and children would love it, it wasn't really enough for me. I found that it ended far too soon, with very little happening, and the Christmas Town part kind of felt like they were trying to make Zero stay with them, like they didn't want to let him return home, which felt odd.

Overall, not my cup of tea, but hardcore fans will love it and children will love the colourful exploration of all the different doorways. However, it doesn't quite live up to the promise of the blurb. Perhaps if they hadn't cut the story into four volumes it would have been better. Right now, I can't justify those four volumes because the “story” of this part was so weak that it really needed that little bit extra in terms of plot and Halloween Town characters.

This was adorable and super quick to read! Zero was one of my absolute favorite parts of The Nightmare Before Christmas so I was thrilled to see this manga novel centered around this festive pup! I loved the artwork and seeing more of Christmas Town. Zero’s emotions come across so brilliantly that it’s easy to forget he’s a dog and not a person. Jack’s dedication to looking for his beloved canine companion is sweet. And that ending though! I will be looking for the next part of Zero’s journey back home! This is a definite read if you’re a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas!

Gorgerous Illustrations!!

I shared this with the 4-year-old with whom I spent my Wednesday. She and I are both battling head colds, but love reading together. When she saw this was available she asked me to read it to her. I happily complied.

We passed a happy 30 minutes perusing this volume and looking at the beautiful artwork. We were not, however, impressed with the story. There were very few words and the ending felt very abrupt.

As much as we were enjoying the story of the hunt for Zero, we will probably wait for all of the volumes to be available before continuing this story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a sneak peek at this story.

"When Jack Skellington's faithful pet Zero gets lost, the ghost pup must get the help of the residents of Christmas Town to find his way back. With Halloween plans on hold while Jack mounts a search, will they be reunited in time to save both holidays?"

Being a huge Tim Burton fan, I had to read this comic. It's a cute story with excellent graphics. Any fan of Tim Burton will love this graphic novel.

I am so happy that this is my first exploration into manga. I love Nightmare Before... and this was a delightful tale about the one with the tail.
It offers so much more too; from conceptual art to covers from their individual releases.
Perfect for fans of good ol’ Jack and manga alike.

It is a cute, fun, and quirky story just in time for the Halloween. I just love the pages, from the first up to the last. The graphic is amazing. They are lovely. I've read some graphic novels and manga from NetGalley before but this one win the best art drawings and design. I can't wait to see what will happen to Zero's adventure.

I love nightmare before Christmas and anything to do with it when I saw this book I knew had to have it, and I wasn’t disappointed I’m so happy that they are expanding on this story.
Zero is one of my favourite fictional characters and I cannot wait to see where it goes.
Also the artwork was incredible.

I received a free e-copy of Disney's Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas Zero's Journey by D.J. Milky from NetGalley for my honest review.

First off, I realize this is a children's book but I love anything Tim Burton. I am also a big Art freak. I love drawing, painting, sketching and have a huge appreciation for the talent of others who create it.

This is a comic cartoon type book. I really enjoyed all the never before seen character and location sketches that were in this book, all created by a team of dedicated Artists. So beautiful and creative and a joy to see. The comic book was cute and I enjoyed it the only thing I wish is that it was more of a children's story versus the comic. Still an adorable book with lots of creativity.

Lovely little adventure story that all younger fans of Nightmare Before Christmas will be charmed by. With Tie-ins it's always important to capture the character's voices, and the author definitely did that here. The artwork is well done and rather eye-catching as well.

Perfect Halloween - or early Christmas treat.
