The third in the series, and the second one I've read. This one has Gabriel, who is woken from his stone prison by Hana, when the Japanese mob tries to take her. This one has them flying to California, and asking Rafael for help. I have read many with Rafael's series, so it was nice to see some familiar characters. A good story, and ties in with the past and also helped explain more of the series. Looking forward to the next in the series. Would highly recommend.

Hana and Gabriel first fell in love while she read to him in his stone statue form. Thousands of years he had waited for her after been cursed by a master sorcerer Sotiris.
Unbeknown to Hana Gabriel has a past that will play a large part in their future as they flee to the Vampire Master Raphael. Hana is a weapon in the fight to come between sorcerers. Gabriel will need his Vampire Lord in the twists and turns of the fight to come. You will wait with baited breathe for the final outcome.

Book Review- Gabriel by D.B. Reynolds

Another stone warrior has been found. Hana’s family has been hiding the statue for years. Her family had enough magic to understand what the statue held. The story has an exciting start as Hana is running for her life trying to get to Gabriel’s statue. She obviously breaks the curse, never a question.
The way they escape and stay hidden is full of suspense. Someone is after her. I like that the enemy is who he is. I also like why he is after her. Then add in the vampire angle for Gabriel and you have two different stories. Hana’s where she has a special ability and trying to stay out of a sorcerer’s hands. Then Gabriel’s story is where he comes to terms with being a vampire and finding a place for himself in this new world.
I loved seeing Nick, Damian and Keto again. They come together to help Hana. The author’s characters from different books are front and center. The two worlds collide. It makes me want to go back and read their stories. It was a great read. I can’t wait to read the next one. I give this a 4 out of 5.

4.5 stars

Gabriel's journey in stone is a little different than his brothers. Hana and her family have treated him like he was alive keeping him informed of all the changes throughout the years. Nasty sorcerer, Sotiris, wants Hana for his evil plans. Gabriel and his brothers along with Raphael and his vampires. I've never been fond of vampire books, but Ms. Reynolds really makes me like them and want to read her Vampire in America series. Especially to find out why Raphael and Nick hate each other so much.

Another great epilogue where we meet Dragan and future lady love. Plus there is a teaser for the Vampires in Europe series and a meeting with someone named Lachlan.

D. B. Reynolds made this book worth the wait. This is the story of Gabriel, the third book in the Stone Warriors series. This one has a twist, letting us see that when the call was sent out for the greatest warriors that included all warriors.
D.B. Reynolds has merged her VIA series and Stone Warriors series worlds, with great characters and a plot that just keeps getting better!

An awesome way to escape from real life.

This book is outstanding. The characters are out of this world, leaping from the page and embedding into the imagination of the reader. The characters are beyond believable, realistic and charismatic, with brilliant interactions. Well written, this novel is an enticing journey into another world, where adventure binds with danger and romance.

D B Reynolds builds a story that is stunningly original book that will fulfil the expectations of any reader who is interested in the book's blurb.

Gabriel is book three in D.B. Reynolds Stone Warriors series, I have not read the previous entries in this series and this did prove to be a problem for me as not only did the book heavily feature other characters it also contained a crossover with a different series that I have also not read.

Gabriel Halldor is the third of four warrior brothers cursed to live out his existence in a stone statue casing for millennium while the world moves on around him. his statue currently stands in modern day Japan and he is finally awakened just in time to save Hana from assassins seeking her family's annihilation.

The duo must battle their way to America where salvation may be found with limited resources and foes lurking close by.

While there were elements of this book I enjoyed I did find myself confused at certain scenes and wondering why they had been included.  there is a crossover with another series by the author that bogs down a book already heavy with different points of view.

I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review all thoughts and opinions are my own.

The latest in D.B. Reynolds’ Stone Warriors series is an exciting crossover between the men cursed by an evil sorcerer to spend millennia trapped in stone and our favorite vampire couple from Vampires in America.

When young Hana Himura – granddaughter of Japanese mobster – first saw Gabriel Halldor, he was trapped in his stone prison. That didn’t stop her from admiring him while sitting at his feet to read to him.

Knowing she was gifted and that a powerful sorcerer wanted to imprison Hana, her grandfather raised her as a warrior. When he can no longer protect her, he sends Hana to Gabriel. But their enemy is far too powerful for them to defeat alone, and so they seek the help of the most powerful vampire lord on earth.

Once Gabriel in freed from his stone confinement, the attraction that had been growing between him an Hana is easily ignited. He tries to fight it for various reasons, but she’s a woman who knows what she wants, and she wants her Stone Warrior.

Chapters of hostile intrigue are filled with tangible suspense and danger, while the steamier parts – which include the main couple but are not limited to them – sizzle and scorch the pages. Gabriel is every bit as possessive and caring as Hana, who was his perfect match. I loved the twist involving Gabriel’s development and how Hana supported him.

The plot was ingenious and well fleshed out. Vampires in America fans will surely love Raphael and Cyn’s involvement in this well-paced, exciting paranormal romantic suspense which I think would make a big screen hit not only because of its engaging story but the rich imagery the author provides.

As with the previous books, we catch up with the other couples as well as Nick Katsaros, who is now seeing the benefits of having a loving partner at his side. I can’t wait for the series’ next installment!

Gabriel is book #3 of the Stone Warriors series by D.B. Reynolds. It is a standalone, full-length paranormal romance. Told from several points of view with a happy ending for the couple and a preview of the next book.

This book was a cross-over novel between stone warriors and vampires in America. I enjoy Raphael and Cyn in a novel, but i do tire of their sexy times—repetitive. Anyhoo this book is about Hana who wakes Gabriel from his stone sleep, and of course they have to go on the run from Sotiris, and also find their way to Nick. What can I say about Nick? I despise this character and he is the main one. I think D. B. Really has to find a way to tone his character and make him somewhat like able. He is beyond arrogant, rude, and really a character I do not like to read about. This does not bode well for the other books and certainly I don’t know how the author will make a believable story of a female actually liking and falling in love with him.

I've read titles by this author before and I will continue to do so because she has this whole writing thing down.
Hana is badass without being in your face, Gavrial is an ancient warrior who has managed ( with help from Hana and her family) to keep informed of modern times even though he had been cursed to be a statue for a couple of thousand years. Hana manages to break Gabrials curse and free him just in time to help keep her safe from everyone's enemy the evil scocerrer. Then its and adventure of vampires, and scorcerrers, and love , and magic.

This was a fabulous addition to "The Stone Warriors" Series. Hana is the granddaughter of a Japanese mob boss that has been raised like a warrior. Gabriel is a warrior that has been trapped in stone for over a thousand years. He was placed in the Japanese garden of Hana's grandfather where he watched Hana grow into adulthood. When Hana's grandfather's house is attacked Hana runs to the garden and Gabriel is freed. Needing someone powerful to help them they escape to America to seek the help of Raphael the Vampire Lord of the Western Territories. I really enjoyed this book. It was well written with an engaging storyline and interesting characters. Hana and Gabriel were likable and had great chemistry. I loved that we got quite a bit of Raphael and Cyn in this story. We also get to visit with Nik, Damian and Kato. This is definitely a must read for anyone who enjoys reading about magic, warlocks and vampires. Highly recommend.

What a great story! The Stone Warriors is a series to eat up. You can't go wrong with powerful, sultry hunks who want nothing more than to protect you and empower you. Steamy, strong, and greatly written, I definitely believe this is a must own in your library.

This is book 3 in the Stone Warrior series. While this does standalone there are characters from the previous books and Reynolds Vampires in America series mentioned in this book. There is also a series arc that is ongoing from book 1 so I would suggest reading them in order at the very least to get the most enjoyment of this book.

In this book we have Gabriel Halldor. He lived his life as a warrior, a berserker, that reveled in battle. He joined forces with three other warriors and Nico, a sorcerer, as they battled against an evil crazed sorcerer. They banded together as brothers and fought until they were betrayed and cursed by their enemy. Gabriel was encased in stone for a millennium until the exact set of circumstances come together to break the curse.

He’s freed by Hana Himura, the granddaughter of a mob boss. A woman that had been keeping him company since she was a child. Once free, he helps her escape the men chasing her and they make a mad dash around Japan staying one step ahead of the men following them. But everything’s not as it seems with Gabriel and soon Hana takes him to California to ger help from one of the most powerful creatures she knows of.

I really enjoyed this story. There is a lot of action and revisiting of characters from this series and Reynolds vampire series. The relationship between Hana and Gabriel had it’s starts and stops. They are both have feelings for each other before she ever frees him but there are some other things that make their road together a little bumpy.

One of the things I was most excited for in this book was how Reynolds was going to do a crossover with her ViA series. Unfortunately, that was one of the things I liked least in this book. There are a lot of different points of view in this book and I would have rather spent more time with Gabriel and Hana, building their relationship or dealing with the man hunting her and less page time in the heads of others. I felt like I was reading a Vampire of America book at times. Don’t get me wrong, I love that series as well the characters form it, but I was a little disappointed with the amount of book time those characters got. There is even a traditional epilogue featuring the ViA characters that set up their next book. Granted there is one that sets up the next book in this series as well, but I wanted more from the characters we were introduced to in this series.

I don’t want to give any spoilers away but there were other issues I had with Gabriel himself. He seemed so strong and self-sufficient with a clear plan for his future until he gets to California and then his character changed. It had nothing to do with his relationship with Hana, it was more the other characters from the ViA series. I found it kind of hard to believe that he so quickly trusted them and was willing to change so much of his future so quickly. Reynolds tried to explain it away but I must have missed something because it didn’t work for me.

Overall I did enjoy this book and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Another solid Stone Warriors story. Gabriel is a fierce warrior who meets his match in Hana. You also get to see Raphael from the vampire books. GOOD>!

OMG, I have to get me one of these! I want my very own stoic, brooding stone warrior. Meet Gabriel: cursed and captured in stone for centuries. And suddenly freed by Hana Himura, who has been reading to her stone warrior in her Japanese garden for as long as she can remember.
Hana is the granddaughter of a Japanese mob boss, who has been trained all her life to survive. In their garden, her grandfather had kept a statue, which was holding a warrior imprisoned. He asked Hana to take care of the statue, because he knew that one day the warrior would be freed.
And the day he is murdered, Gabriel is freed. And now Hana and Gabriel are running for their lives. Because someone is after them. But who is? And are they after Gabriel, or after Hana? When they are fleeing, Gabriel is getting weaker and weaker. So Hana decides to go to find a century old friend of her grandfather: the vampire Raphael (yes: from the Vampire series of D.B. Reynolds). Together with Raphael they try to save Gabriel, find out the attacker and rescue the rest of the world. Piece of cake! A wonderful story with a strong herione and lots of plot twists. Loved it! Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I really like this book and it was keeping you interested and I can’t wait for the next one. I read this book in one setting.

I was given this book to give an honest review.

Do you love the Vampires in America series? Do you also love the Stone Warriors series? This book is the best of both worlds and was completely enjoyable from both angles. I’m pretty sure you could muddle through even if you haven’t read any of the other books in either series, if you really wanted to live your life that way.

Each of the stone warriors books focuses on one of these epic warriors that was cursed into stone for a whole bunch of years. There is a lot of hand waving about timelines and where they came from, but that’s pretty much all you need to know. Gabriel is the third warrior in this series who also happens to be a vampire (and where the wonderful series cross-over begins). We’ve already seen the threads between the two worlds building through the sorcerer/Cyn’s friend/pain in the butt for Raphael. Watching these two worlds mash up was very satisfying here.

The bigger story is about Gabriel embracing who and what he is while also defending the woman he loves, who also happens to be a really tough fighter chick. The big bad shows his face again, there’s reunions and drama, but as is the center of both these book series, there’s lots of romance and smutty goodness. I highly recommend you read from the start of the Vampires in America Series, but, as I said, you can probably join wherever to dive into this great world the author has built.

I received this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

I have read a couple of other books by this author so I had expectations and they were certainly met and exceeded!

In his time, Gabriel had been a fierce warrior but a curse has sent him in stone for hundreds of years. Hana is the daughter of a mob boss on Japan. He has taught her to be a strong woman and trained her to be her own warrior. He knows she will need the advantage at some point in her life because of her "gift".

The time of danger is upon them. The curse has weakened and Gabriel's shell of stone has broken, he is finally free. Hana's grandfather has been killed and they are looking for Hana. She and Gabriel manage to avoid escape several times but it is the time to go to America and the man her grandfather said could help her...Raphael.

This book is in constant motion! In the beginning we learn about how Hana's grandfather and great grandfather would read to Gabriel in his stone form, how Gabriel knew they were good men. When the enemy arrives and they must run and go to America the writing does not falter. I didn't have to go back a couple of pages because I "felt like I missed something".

When they get to America and Gabriel is very, very ill Hana learns something new about Gabriel...something Gabriel hates about himself. With the help and guidance from Raphael they face the enemy and fight for their love.

I really enjoyed this story and see that there were a couple of books before Gabriel's story....have to check them out! Great story, I would recommend it!
