This story is the third in a series of the McKenna clan. This is about their only daughter, whom her father let have the rare ability to choose her own husband in a time where women were little more than property. It’s got all the best parts of a highland love story; the fighting, the making up, the challenges and the sweet ending of true love. This was a great lighthearted and sweet story, and a must for someone who loves true love. I received a copy for review from Netgalley for an honest review. |
Lady Katherine Mckenna is ready to decide who her husband will be. A rare chance for a lady since most marriages of the time are decided by the parents. Her mother fought for her right to be able to decide who she wanted to marry. Unfortunately, she chooses wrong and she discovers her betrothed is less than perfect. She dares to escape before she is married and on her way to her home she is kidnapped. Lucky for her Laird Lachlan MacTavish comes to her rescue, though he is the brother of the person who kidnapped her in the first place. Though there still are forces that are working to drive them apart, a marriage between them will save the clans from war. It was a very compelling story, and I was very much impressed by Katherine bravery and determination. ARC generously provided via Netgalley, in exchange for the above honest review. |

I received an advance heaters copy in exchange for an honest review. This story was sweet and spicy but it also provided an incredible amount of historical information about the time location, which I really enjoyed. The characters are likable in the store it moves at a good pace. Recommended |

I received this novel from net galley and the publisher. Thank you! Lady Katherine McKenna has the unusual task of that time to choose her own husband. Many have sought her hand and been turned down. Katherine finally agrees to a match, believing she could possibly come to love the man. However, she discovers the truth about the man and refuses to marry him. She leaves and ends being being kidnapped, only to escape. Laird Lachlan MacTavish finds Katherine, who is laird of a poor clan and believes his brother is being held prisoner by the McKenna clan. Lachlan does whatever he can to help his people. Katherine did not realize what she had in her father's home until she sees how Lachlan's clan lives. Katherine has feelings for Lachlan and asks if he would marry her. Lachlan needs to think about the proposal Katherine has offered, knowing the wrath her father could bring to the MacTavish clan. Still, he agrees to the marriage, which angers several people. Katherine and Lachlan will have to overcome several obstacles if they want to remain wed. Still, temptation is a powerful adversary and only a love that is true can overcome the difficult challenges that lay ahead. |
