4 "I Want It All" Stars!
Mercy O'Malley is a 25 yr. old beautiful, fair, extremely intelligent fairy. Her destiny has already been charted, and she was following her path in life. Her people were known for their knowledge, and she was willing to sacrifice everything for the good of the universe. She was assigned by the Fae to take out a man who they felt was a threat, and needed to be kept under control. She decides to go rogue and kidnap him instead. Her intentions are good, but she has no idea what she's dealing with or getting herself into.

Logan Kyllwood is a demon-vampire hybrid. He's one of the most dangerous creatures in the world known for his incredible strength, fighting skills, and stamina. He's trained to defend and protect, and was loyal to the core. An experienced demon soldier who followed duty. His brother was the head of the demon nation, and he was raised around death and violence. He would soon complete a ritual to become one of The Seven, a group dedicated to protecting this world from evil, but first he had to deal with a pretty, pixie fairy. He was sent to retrieve her, but things don't go quite as smoothly as he planned.

Logan & Mercy clash and come to blows as they each fight for control. It's unclear at first who is the prey, and who is the prisoner. They both have unique gifts that need protected, as well as enhancements and special abilities. Mercy is in over her head. This gorgeous, oversized beast both tempted and overwhelmed her. They were supposed to be enemies, but he fascinated her. She begins to imagine what belonging to him might be like. To live in his world, and be shielded by his power.

Mercy infuriates Logan, but he had this unexplainable need to keep her safe. She was beautiful, intriguing, and had a kind heart. He saw her value, and wanted to explore what was between them. They shared a strange, undeniable connection, and he was starting to feel like she was meant to be his. She threw him off balance, but also was becoming his refuge. How could he ever let her go?

This was my first book by Rebecca Zanetti and I just loved it! It's full of humor, and is a sexy, exciting story about immortals if different dreamworlds and dimensions. This couple has a love/hate relationship filled with passion. It's an enemies to lovers romance where they find love in the most unexpected places, and with all the odds stacked against them. I can't wait to read more from this amazing author!

4.25 stars--DEMON’S MERCY is the ninth instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult DARK PROTECTOR paranormal, fantasy romance series. This is vampire/demon hybrid Logan Kyllwood, and fae Mercy O’Malley’s story line. DEMON’S MERCY can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: A thousand years earlier, a number of immortal warriors went through a ritual that, if they survived, hardened their bodies against attack, a ritual meant to create a group of Seven known as The Shield. The Shield was created to protect the world from an evil race of vampires known as the Kurjans, their sect group known as the Cysts, and ultimately a rogue warrior once considered a friend- Ulric-a male of immense power. To protect the human race, Ulric was captured, and along with two of the Seven, was encapsulated in one of three spheres for all eternity. As the warriors search for the ‘Keys’ to perform the ritual, the Lock must be protected in order to take down the evil that is hoping to take over the world.

Told from several third person perspectives including Mercy and Logan DEMON’S MERCY focuses on Logan’s search for one of the Keys, a supernatural or enhanced female who, together with two other Keys, will open the lock to save the Realm but all does not go according to plan when Logan finds himself the prisoner of a female Fae, Mercy O’Malley, the woman who would one day be his fated mate. What ensues is the back and forth, escape and recapture between Mercy and Logan, and the potential fall-out as the Fae have sided with the Kurjans and the Cysts, against the Realm.

Mercy O’Malley has known all of her life that she is destined to help save her Fae world. As one of only a few remaining Fae of mating age, our heroine finds herself promised to someone else as she slowly falls in love with our leading man. Logan Kyllwood knows Mercy is his fated mate, the mating wrong is never wrong, but Logan struggles to convince Mercy that trust is earned, even though neither one is willing to accept the other at face value.

Meanwhile Sam Kyllwood is taken hostage and thrown into a hell dimension where the portals open for a revealing surprise.

The relationship between Mercy and Logan is acrimonious at best. Mercy and her fellow Fae females have been assigned to take down and destroy our leading hero in the belief the Seven are a threat to the world. The palpable sexual attraction between Mercy and Logan is immediate; the $ex scenes are passionate and seductive.

There is a large ensemble cast of familiar and colorful secondary and supporting characters including Logan’s brother Sam Kyllwood, Garrett Kayrs, and seven year old Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood, and her bestie Paxton; Zane and Janie Belle, Ronan and Faith Karys, Quade Kayrs, Benjamin Reese, demon-vampire and Viking Ivar Kjeidsen, and Scotsman Adare O’Cearbhaill. We are introduced to Mercy’s fellow Fae warriors Sandy and Trina, self- proclaimed King Niall, and president Alyssa Dawn.

The world building continues to focus of the search for the Keys: the fight against the Kurjans and the Cysts; the protection of the Realm; and Hope’s foray into the dreamworld. The seven members of the Shield prepare for war one battle at a time, knowing one or two of their own may be lost forever, encapsulated in an effort to keep Ulric behind proverbial bars.

DEMON’S MERCY is a story of family, friendship, survival and blood. The fast paced premise is engaging and intriguing; the characters are strong, sassy and inspiring; the romance is spirited and moving. DEMON’S MERCY is a sexy, spicy and startling story line sure to please the supernatural lover in all of us.

4 - "No more secrets..." Stars!

Book nine of the Dark Protectors series; Demons Mercy gives us Logan Kyllwood’s story. Falling for your assassin has never been so entertaining.

"Baby… You definitely have my attention."

We are introduced to a new race in this book in that Zanetti has bought the Fae Realm into the mix alongside the Vampire, Demons & Shifters etc. Mercy O’Malley and her kin are determined to stop the full reformation of the Seven, believing that rather than strengthen the prison holding the deadliest of all the Kurjans, it will likely break him free.

So far demon-vampire Hybrids were not her favorite people…

I never struggle to read a book by this author, my usual issues are generally with characterization or the lack of enough plot to fill the length of the page count, and for me there was a little of both in this one, Mercy like some of the authors previous heroines stepped out of the sassy, confident personality profile, and erred into the arrogant and idiotic at times, and I personally found that there was a lot of merry-go-round with the push and pull between her and Logan, so much so that the story building with some of the secondary characters held my interest more than their stuttering relationship.

"I thought we were going to fight…"

"…I’d rather fuck"

As I said no struggle to read at all, I think my rating attests to that, and Logan more than made up for Mercy’s shortfalls. I just found myself looking forward more to the next book; Alpha’s Promise at the end of Demon’s Mercy rather than reflecting on my enjoyment of the story I had just read.

"It’s like you want me to put my hands on you…"

The newest Dark Protector romance is extraordinarily entertaining and explosive. Mercy and Logan’s chemistry is off the charts magnetic and these two bold, vivid characters keep readers on the edge of expectation and chuckles throughout the story. There is nothing sweet about this romance as they engage is snarky comments, hot, passionate battles and steamy passion all the way through their blossoming relationship. Mercy is the last female that Logan should be falling for and the timing is could certainly have been better as he is preparing to take part in the dangerous and terrifying Seven ritual. Readers can’t help but have fun even as they await for the next interruption of this couple’s activities.

From kidnapping to realm hopping, this story is a non-stop adventure that keeps readers on the edge of their seat with adrenaline pumping action, thrilling suspense, and surprising twists. There is no way this book can be put down once readers get started because it starts off with a bang and just keeps exploding with energy and wonderfully zestful characters that demand attention. The fast pace plot flows smoothly and the author brings to the story to life with vivid imagery that makes it easy for the readers to connect to the characters and become part of the story and all the enjoyment of this explosive and passionate installment of the Dark Protectors.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5
RZ has absolutely killed it with this book! It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time- I barely slept because all I wanted to do was keep reading this book. I can honestly say I never want this series to end- NEVER. It was hot and sexy 🔥🔥, fast paced, full of action and had a romance between 2 main characters o could totally get behind.
.
Our hero is a half demon half vampire hybrid who is part of a secret society of men who are out to stop pure evil from coming back into the world and eliminating all “enhanced” females (who can mate with Immortals). Our heroine is a fae who is out to stop him because her race believe it is this society who will destroy the world.
.
RZ writes possessive and very alpha alpha heroes (which is 100% my jam) but the heroine was the perfect compliment of him- she didn’t put up with any of his BS and pretty much did whatever she wanted anyway 🙌🏻 (which I have so much respect for). This is book 2 in the second story arc of a much larger series and where I feel book 1 fell a little short by setting up the new arc- this one exceeded all me expectations! I would definitely recommend at least reading the book before this if you want to dive into this series (and you should want to because it’s AMAZING).

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

While I have not read all of the books in this series, I have read a couple of them and enjoyed the series, and it is pretty easy to understand what is going on so you can read this as a stand alone.

This is like a paranormal Romeo and Juliet type of romance as they are from "warring" immortals but the good news is that they don't die at the end and they get their HEA.

Logan is a vampire-demon hybrid and Mercy is a Fae and they don't agree on what the Seven should be doing. Mercy tries to kidnap Logan to warn him that the Fae want him dead but he turns the table on her and kidnaps her.

Most of the story is just non-stop action as they are on the run from Fae solders and the Cyst who are trying to also capture them.

There is a little more information revealed and we still don't know where the third key is or what is going to happen with Hope being the prophet and is her Cyst friend really her friend??

Lots of action and a sizzling romance make this a fun book to read and eager for the next book in the series! There are still three of the warriors that have not either acknowledged their mate or found their mates. Should be fun!!

Once in a while you come across an author you just know you have to read everything they write, Rebecca Zanetti is one of those authors to me.

Demon Mercy is a well written, riveting read. I loved the characters, their interaction, and the engaging, dynamic storyline. I could not put this down and will definitely be recommend to others. I will be reading many more books by this author

Mercy O'Malley is a mythological fae one of the last members of a decimated race and Logan Kyllwood brother to the king of the demons and soon to be member of the seven and ancient elite group of warrior tasked with keeping the most evil enemies trapped in a pocket dimension. Mercy's mission is to stop him anyway she can. I have read all of this series to date and as usual Ms. Zanetti does not disappoint. This is a fast pace action filled story with enough romance thrown in to keep everyone satisfied and I can't wait to read her next installments on this series.

What's hotter than a forbidden romance? When the parties are beings from opposing species and their union could lead to war. So hot! Logan and Mercy, together, were explosive. From beginning to end, their story was sexy and exciting and their connection was practically tangible.

For the remainder of his life, no matter how long he had, it would be Mercy he craved.

Logan is next in line to fulfill his destiny - to become one of the seven. He's fated to protect the world from certain destruction and he's found his purpose. He's uber protective of those he loves and his newfound brothers are now part of that group. Mercy is fae and they believe that Logan and his brotherhood are absolutely wrong in their plan to save everything. Her mission is to stop them at all costs. So kidnapping him and repeatedly trying to kill him... normal.

What happens when both of them realize that they have some valid points? Or when Mercy realizes that her people may not be on the right path? Or when she becomes invested in the cause? Amazing things. Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protectors series has quickly become one of my favorite things to read. I'm in absolute love with these demons and their constant battle to save everyone. This author has created a world that could easily fit into this one, full of fantastical things and a reality that pretty much defies imagination. Each story is full of heart and the characters are incredibly easy to fall in love with. The world is still in as much danger as it was when this book started, but with Logan now official in his role, the people are that much safer.

It was great to see another Dark Protectors book by Rebecca Zanetti. The world is still in danger, with more paranormal creatures joining the fight. This time it is the fey, with one being Logan’s future mate. Mercy jumps in feet first by kidnapping Logan but she has no real idea what she will be up against.

It is an exhilarating roller coaster of a story with Logan, Mercy and the Seven as well as the danger to all. Twists and turns that keep this plot from being even close to predictable, you still know that Logan and Mercy will wind up together. However, it is such an exciting ride to see how that happens. The main plot of the imminent danger to the world takes precedence in the story with the romance taking second place. This is how it should be in this story.

Logan Logan Logan

Well, I can honestly say I picked this one up this morning and couldn’t put it down until I was done! Now we have fairies!!! Mercy! She was the right amount of crazy, dedicated, and pushy! And Logan, well I just knew his book would be good.

There is a lot going on in this book with the seven, the Fae, Sam, Logan & Mercy. Oh and we get to see some of our old faves again! It will keep you on your toes and keep you reading! If you haven’t read the Dark Protectors start the series! If you quit at book 7....start back up! This is getting good! Can’t wait for the next book!

Had a blast reading the latest in Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors series. Although I’m dying to read Adare and Grace’s story – love/hate romance is my weakness! – I really liked getting to know Logan and Mercy. I loved seeing Faith and Ronan again and of course, seeing the rest of the guys that make of the Seven. If you want a quick adrenaline fueled read, this will fit the bill, it’s been awesome so far.

This is part of a longer series (9 books so far) but the Five are kind of a spin off from the original series. Vampire’s Faith (#8) kicks off this new mini spin off and I would recommend reading that one first to meet all the new players as the Five are first introduced there. Demons’ Mercy is the second Seven member storyline and was packed full of action, suspense and a lot of yummy tension that sizzled between the MCs. Logan is my favorite type of hero. He always put Mercy first, was protective, affectionate and 100% there for her without resorting to unnecessary drama. I loved his instant devotion to his mate and his pursuit of her.

Mercy was a smart chick, I liked her steadfast loyalty and ability to see the bigger picture and actually wanting to work together rather than fight apart. She’s stubborn to a fault but with the best of intentions and a bit reckless but it’s hard to fault her when she whole heartedly believed in her cause. At times I did want to shake some sense into her, it was hard to see her be so trusting with the wrong people, especially when it made her push Logan away but she was kind of stuck between a rock and hard place with no easy answers.

I love when an author introduces a new species or people into the story line and RZ did a fantastic job of introducing the Fae. The possibilities and new direction this give the over all story is going to be great. Can’t wait for the next in the series. There’s a lot of possibilities since we still have crazy Benny, Garret, Quade and Ivar left to go!

Title: A steamy, action-packed paranormal adventure

I have only recently been introduced to this series, and I have not yet read all the way up to this one before accepting it as an ARC, but I didn't feel that significantly impacted my enjoyment of this book. It was a hot and steamy, action-filled ride with a yummy alpha and his sassy fae lady.

Logan is a demon-vampire hybrid who is steadfastly determined to fulfill his destiny to become one of the Dark Protectors (the Seven) tasked with saving the world. Mercy is a fae who has been given the assignment of killing Logan, yet when she meets him, she can't quite bring herself to do it and attempts to kidnap him instead. Let the games begin! :)

Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I was probably missing a couple of things by not reading some of the earlier books, but I didn't detract anything from my rating as that was really on me. One thing that didn't sit as well with me was how quickly they fell for each other --- I felt like there could have (and should have given their complete opposite missions) been a little more development there, but I definitely enjoyed seeing the sparks fly between the two, and the HEA was very satisfying.

So happy for Logan’s story. Garrett and Logan have become two of my favorite characters of the series.

I was so happy that Logan got his own story. Since Logan and Garrett beat each other up after finding their siblings (Zane and Jainie) in bed together, they have become like brothers. They grew up during the war between the vampires and the kurjans so they are well trained soldiers and very dangerous but they still have that bit of youth to them so they are also up for a little fun too. They showed up in the Realm Enforcers series ready to help out with the enforcers mission and only partly to get them out of trouble since they were bored and flirting with shifter girls.

I love that they are always up for some fun. This is missing from the older immortals who are always so serious. Yet when things get dangerous, they quickly switch over to the serious and deadly soldiers they are.

In Demon’s Mercy we are introduced to the Fae, and I am not certain if it is simply because Rebecca’s last release, Hidden, features a cult, but something about Mercy’s story rings a little false and I don’t believe it is a lie from her, but a lie she was raised to believe (back to the cult). We are told as a background that because the Seven created their dimensional prison bubbles (without a lot of knowledge of what they were doing) that Mercy and the few Fae trapped on Earth were separated from the rest of the Fae. It is really unknown if they other fae are all dead or just trapped somewhere else. So the elders Fae trapped on earth with Mercy are too old to procreate and they test-tube created 10 babies (5 boys, 5 girls) to keep their race alive. These 10 babies are now 25 and are expected to mate and create more purebred Fae babies, including Mercy. So I am torn if I want to believe that there was truly an accident leaving Mercy and the 9 other breeders and a few older Fae as survivors or did this group want to create their own Fae Utopia, simply separating from or trapping the others. Hmm…There is just something fishy about the whole thing.

So the Fae believe that when the circle of the seven is complete, the dimensions will implode and they have to stop Logan, who is not yet one of the seven officially. So Mercy is told to stay out of it, but she has decided to capture Logan and reason with him not to join the Seven. She tells him that his completing the seven will cause dimensional collapse everywhere, blah, blah, blah and he needs to see things her way. Mercy is going to reason with the demon where the other fae just want to kill him to make it stop. Again, will it really cause problems or is someone pulling strings and telling Mercy that the seven will cause the end of the universe. Hmmm…I honestly can’t make up my mind if Mercy is just gullible, brainwashed or is she actually going to allow the universe to implode because she has the hots for Logan? While she sees Logan’s point of view about the danger of not protecting the prison dimension, she is very focused on being in the right.

The Fae seem to have some pretty nifty toys and a greater control over teleporting, which I can understand would make them seem powerful and Mercy keeps insisting that Logan and the Seven continuing to risk the safety of everyone will create a war between the Fae and the Realm. Um…please see above where there are only a bunch of old folks and 10 millenials who make up the “Fae Nation” against the combined Realm which now contains of the Demons, Witches, Vampires and Shifters who are mostly made up of trained soldiers who have been fighting the Kurjans, and each other, for decades. So, it really wasn’t much of a threat, and every time Mercy brings it up, I’m almost shocked that no one is reminding her that the Fae, even with the toys and the teleporting, aren’t that much of a threat. It would be like my threatening to pull my blog’s support (and my handful of followers) from Nora Roberts next book tour.

I really like Logan and Mercy is a good choice for him. I do feel a bit sad for Garrett since he will be sitting home alone on Friday nights now that his BFF is settling down.

The Viking is next. He was a nice guy and some really bad things happen to him in this story. We also see that life hasn’t been kind to Quade for the last millenium or so. Ronan is going to have to stop complaining that like Sisyphus he had to move one pile of Chakra stones back and forth for his millenia, because that was paradise compared to the dimension that Quade got stuck with.

The Dark Protecters is a great series and I am more than happy to jump back in.

Logan Kyllwood is no stranger to duty and fate. It's his duty to protect the Realm and Demon nation as well as his fate to become a member of The Seven, an elite and secret band of Brothers tasked with protecting the world against the ultimate evil, the Kurjan Ulric. Mercy O'Malley is a brilliant and slightly crazy Fae who is trying to keep the Fae people from assassinating Logan before he can fulfill his destiny and become a fully fledged member of The Seven... something her people believe will rip universes apart. What is Mercy's plan to save Logan? Why kidnapping him of course! Join Logan and Mercy on their epic adventure that changes the entire Realm forever!

One of my favorite paranormal series. This book features Logan so I'm thrilled. Logan gets his mate and it gonna change everything. I'm so excited that the author keeps us on our toes and we get to meet a new member of the Paranormal world...fairies. Or Fae as fairies like to tell us. So along with demons, vampires and shifters and of course my fave, witches. Mercy is not just a fairy but she is also one of the keys needed for the "SEVEN" which Logan is the next in line to become. The last thing he needs is a fairy with some extra ordinary skills. The SEVEN believe that are the key to the world not being destroyed. but Mercy believes the SEVEN will be the reason the world will implode. So the fireworks fly between this couple. I love the chemistry between these two. I love that Mercy was smart and opinionated and did everything to make Logan see her side of the equation. This was a non stop story with action and intrigue as we try to figure out what comes next.

Since this is book nine (and book two in a new arc) you definitely need to be familiar with the rest of the Dark Protector's universe for this one. I had to stop and go find Vampire's Faith because some of the new arc didn't make much sense to me with the new Keys plot. That said, I still greatly enjoyed this, especially once I knew what was going on, lol.

This arc takes place 7 years after the story of Janie Kayrs and Zane. Hope is now known to a select group of warriors as The Lock, and there are three women born each generation known as Keys. The four females will somehow save enlightened females from the Cyr, the evil clergy of the Kurjan race and they are trying to release the ultimate evil guy from a prison he was put into millennia before. Sound confusing? Yeah. Read the rest of the series and it makes so much more sense. They really are tied closely together.

This is a very well-written, action-filled story, with a lot of banter and unexpected plot twists that make for a fast-paced, enjoyable read.

I would have liked it even better though if the author had taken a bit more time to develop the relationship between Logan and Mercy. I felt as if they didn’t really know or trust each other enough to fall in love when they did, and I’d have liked a bit more tender moments and for them to have chosen each other, irrefutably, somewhat sooner in the story. Mercy stays on the fence a very long time, poor Logan.

Mercy is a typical feisty and quick-witted heroine, but for all her intelligence she’s very naïve about some things and not always putting her trust in the right people. I found that a bit frustrating. She undoubtedly has a big heart, but that doesn’t stop her from being a bit of a judgmental smarty-pants too.
Logan is easy to like and a very interesting hero, such a savior and protector, though a little too arrogant sometimes. He could have taken Mercy’s input into account more often instead of presuming he knows all and can overcome any threat, super warrior that he is. He’s well-intentioned, but instead of seeming confident, he sometimes just sounds very patronizing.

I really liked the world-building, and the hints we get of books to come. The seven are all intriguing and appealing heroes. So I am definitely interested in the rest of the series. There’s nothing quite like a band of brothers, overcoming incredible odds and torment to save the world, hopefully finding their one true mate in the process. I also very much liked the scenes with the children, especially Hope, who are endearing and great characters in their own right.

This is such a great series, I do not know how Rebecca Zanetti does it! She has a true gift another must read book with more to come I hope. I was given this book to read and I am very, very happy.

These books are awesome! Every time I pick one up (sorry, I jumped in late), I remind myself to go back to the beginning and start fresh just so I can enjoy even more of these characters and this writing style I love.

This book follows Logan’s story. We met him before along the way, as he is one of the Kyllwood brothers and a vampire-demon hybrid. He’s tough, hot, and oddly protective of the people in his life, while able to flip a switch to killing machine at a moment’s notice. His current mission was to track down a possible “key” but things quickly flip on their head. Mercy is one of the fae assumed to be simply a fairy tale. She’s lived a sheltered life, following instructions from others mostly, but rebelling her heart out when she gets the chance. One such chance is with Logan, who she has led breadcrumbs to by broadcasting her “key” status. These two come together in a startling and sizzling way from first meeting.

Logan and Mercy desperately try to navigate their attraction while at the same time trying to capture/escape from one another. Oh, and there’s the fact that the fae believe that Logan’s people are destroying the universe and all its dimensions. A little thing, right? There’s people trying to kill them from all sides, lots of dimension hopping, and did I mention the sizzle? This book had everything I enjoy in a good paranormal romance and has me committed to going back and reading all the books I haven’t in this series.
