This is another entertaining and thrilling instalment into the Dark Protector series. Logan Kyllwood is a hybrid. Part demon, part vampire, he is without a doubt possessive and protective. Having plans to become part of the Seven, he is not looking for a mate. Mercy O’Malley is a feisty and headstrong Fae. She makes it her duty to always have a purpose. That purpose is stopping the Seven from indoctrinating Logan into their midst. Her future already planned, she is not looking for love. When these two come together, however, their plans may just go up in smoke. I loved Mercy and the fact that she is no damsel in distress. She outsmarts Logan in many ways and I enjoyed every second of it. Logan is proud, protective and strong but is all about family. He does what’s necessary to keep the ones he loves safe. The heat and passion between these two was H.O.T! Their back and forth was witty and fun. Together, they are the perfect couple. The pace was good and the action kept coming. I love this world Rebecca Zanetti has created. It is original and I always come back for more. I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. |
have Netgalley and Rebecca to thank for gifting me this book! Demon's Mercy is book 9 in the Dark Protectors series, it's the first one I've read. Fortunately, Rebecca has given the reader enough information to enjoy this latest book. "Duty meets desire . . . Mercy O’Malley hates killing people. So when she’s assigned to take out Vampire-Demon Logan Kyllwood, she lures him to a seedy bar in Scotland, then decides to kidnap him instead. How can she cold-bloodedly end all that heat, those green eyes, that ripped body? Unfortunately for Mercy, attempted murder and kidnapping are just foreplay for the Kyllwood brothers. Logan may be the youngest of the bunch, but death and violence are already a way of life. Now he’s ready to complete a painful, terrifying ritual to become one of the Seven, dedicated to protecting this world from the most dangerous evil it’s ever known. But first he has to deal with a blackmailing Fey, a ransom demand and his own pounding need for the last female he ever should have fallen for . . . " What worked for me: -I now want my own sexy demon-vampire hybrid as Logan is so alpha and sexy -Logan and Mercy are solid characters who know who they are -the chemistry they share and the subsequent push-and-pull is hot -there were no obvious editing issues What did not work for me: -at times, I felt there was more plot than steam Trigger warning: N/A Ideal reader: someone who likes their paranormal romance stories wrapped in adventure #DemonsMercy #Netgalley |
I do love a paranormal romance with demons and vampires and alpha males. Insert a drooling on my book meme here. And boy does Demon's Mercy deliver the goods. You may want to read this with a fan nearby. Don't get me wrong. It's in no way erotica, but the tension is so thick, you would need a chainsaw to cut it and the sex is hot. Logan and Mercy are fully grown adults who have both been through a lot, so there is no teen angst here. Also lets all do a happy dance, the bullshit female virgin trope is nowhere to be seen. I freaking hate that one, so I was stoked. Demon's Mercy is book 9 in the Dark Protectors series, but this didn't get in the way of my enjoyment at all. I definitely want to go back and read the first 8 and I would keep going with the series as well. The characters that would be up next are very interesting, and I'm very interested to see what happens with Logan's brother Sam. For me, all paranormal romance tends to follow a similar pattern, but this one does it well. I enjoyed the way it was written, I was never bored and it even had me laughing at some of the ridiculous positions our main characters got themselves into. If you are a fan of fast-paced, paranormal romance with interesting back stories, then this series might be for you. I received a copy of Demon's Mercy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review |
With Demon’s Mercy, Rebecca Zanetti offers up her 9th Dark Protectors novel, in which you’ll find yourself fanning yourself on the edge of your seat with its fast pace and sexiness. Logal Kyllwood is young but he has seen his fair share of death and brutality. He’s responsibility towards his family has motivated him to go through a secret, excruciating ritual to become part of the Seven. But before he can become part of this ancient group of hybrids dedicated to protect the world he must first deal with involves the gorgeous female who has been trying to thwart him. In order for her people to survive, Mercy O’Malley must fulfill her duty and take out the Vampire-Demon. Being an excellent strategist, her plan to appeal to his protective side and then kidnap him should be easy to carry out. But the bossy, arrogant, Neanderthal doesn’t want to go out without a fight and honestly she’s enjoying those way too much for her own good. If you’re a fan of this series or its spinoff, Realm Enforcers, then I really don’t need to say much other than LOGAN!! SQUEEE!! I have loved this male right from the start and have seen his character grow and become the incredible hero that he is. When I met him, he was fun and adorable and became absolutely sexy and desirable, although I did miss his playful banter with Garret. Oh Garret, I can’t wait to read about you! But in the meantime, Deamon’s Mercy is chockfull of Zanetti’s staple qualities I love about her books. It goes without saying we get a domineering male and a willful heroine who pushes all his buttons, tight knit family and friend bonds and hooking none stop action. I enjoyed the continuation of the series’ arc which includes Logan’s initiation into the Seven and the continuing battle with the Cysts and Kurjans, but there’s also the story’s particular that involve the Fae nation, various dimensions and trouble with the witches and shifters. Logan and Mercy go head to head continuously as they’re both trying to save the world from opposite ends. Yet his protectiveness is completely endearing and won Mercy’s heart. I swooned when he continuously made her a priority and loved that they got their happy ending. Demon’s Mercy is book #9 of the Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti. It is a sexy, standalone paranormal romance. Told from both points of view with a happy ending. |
I don’t usually like to jump into a series mid-stream but I’d heard a lot about Zanetti. A friend told me how she’d loved the entire series and how rich the stories and characters all were. I was glad to find that not knowing the backstories and characters didn’t detract from my enjoyment of Demon’s Mercy. Zanetti has a great imagination and has created a wide scope of characters in a fascinating universe part based on myth and part all her creation. She’s woven the previous stories and other characters into this book with the right amount of detail so I didn’t feel lost or drowning in details. Mercy is a great heroine. She’s impulsive and driven and not very good at following directions. She’s likable and complex enough to fascinate the reader, and Logan. Her overdeveloped self-confidence has her taking on Logan in a very ill-advised confrontation. She’s lucky that Logan takes an immmediate and intense liking to her. If he’d every considered harming her and her friends, it would have been a very bad outcome. This book is a drawn out dance between Mercy and Logan. There’re on opposing teams. They have a different understandings of what the Seven will accomplish. They like each other but there are some pretty obvious reasons a Fae and a Demon-vampire hybrid should think long and hard about starting a relationship. And eventually teaming up, they’re able to fight the good fight and save each other, and both their species, to live another day. The characters are realistic, the fantastical world highly imaginative with tons of action and nail-biting suspense. While reading the series would have no doubt helped, the book was perfectly enjoyable on its own. . |
Mercy O’Malley's people have been absent from their world for quite some time, enough time to acquire an almost myth-like status of their existence. But, with the balance of the world as they know it in jeopardy, they return with a very important mission. To stop the Seven from fully forming. Logan Kyllwood is ready to fulfill his destiny. But, when a fairy interrupts his life in an attempt to kidnap him, he finds himself in a chase against time to not only get to the bottom of the reason the Fey want him, but to protect the stubborn fairy herself... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Demon's Mercy was another unforgettable story within the incomparable Dark Protectors series. In a heart pounding race against time and multitudes of unknown enemies, Mercy and Logan find that despite their opposite goals, the connection that binds them is stronger than any duty they are bound to fulfill... Mercy is a Fae who believes is getting things done, and tends to jump headfirst into whatever mission she believes in. Armed with the plan of kidnapping the fierce Vampire-Demon hybrid before he can become a part of the Seven, she embarks on a solo operation that pits her against the powerful, and dominating Logan, and lands her in a situation of having the tables turned on her. Logan thinks it's cute that the little fairy thinks she can best him, until her ability to surprise him with her escape attempts starts to really get on his nerves. He needs answers, and Mercy is going to give them to him, by any means necessary. I enjoyed this book so much! Mercy was pretty resilient, and hilarious, with her determination to get away from Logan and her never-ending quest to escape from him. resulting in a lot of sexual tension filled chase scenes and the inevitable catching after said chase... insert full body shiver. Logan was definitely my brand of bossy and protective, with his need to keep Mercy close coupling with his growing desire to show her who was boss, their sparring only stops when they run into the multiple forms of danger that barely let up throughout this action-packed book. With the always ultra-sexy paranormal elements show casing the toughest of men finding their mates, and the women who can take on the dangerous world they exist in, this book did not disappoint as the newest segment in the continuing story of the Dark Protectors saga. I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review. |

Fairy, oops sorry Fae, meet vampire-demon. That’s just what happens when Mercy O’Malley meets Logan Kyllwood. Of course as all Zanetti’s stories go they have a lot to learn about each other’s worlds and lose their preconceived notions but oh do the sparks fly! I never tire of the author’s character development and how the main characters have their own story while tying into the paranormal world that will someday need to make a decision to save them all. For now it’s Mercy and Logan’s story and their story is full of love, action, suspense, spats, and just downright fun. |
WOW! what a winner. Good solid plot and paranormal elements. Ms. Zanetti has done it again. LOVED IT! |

So I'm obviously in the minority here, but I didn't love it. While I liked that she didn't fall all, over herself for him, that she was strong and capable, she was also blindly loyal and refused to consider anything that didn't support her world vision. So I was often frustrated with her, and with his excused of her behavior. It was an okay read, just not my favorite. |
Wow! I really enjoyed this story....demons, vampires and Fae, oh my! I can’t wait to see what happens next. I voluntarily read an advanced copy. |

This is the first book I've read by this author and it was a very good book. She is very detailed in her descriptions and kept you engrossed in the story. The only negative point was that I felt the book was a little too long. Otherwise a very good book and I would recommend to readers. |
I have read many books by author Rebecca Zanetti with that knowledge I knew there would be lots of steamy sexy scenes what I wasn't prepared for was how much I enjoy the chase and between Mercy and Logan. This story can be read as a stand a lone novel. This was the first in the series I have read and I enjoyed the author ability to paint a worlds within our world that has readers fighting, wondering and discovering a whole new world. The characters have a lot more levels than I expected from a supernatural romantic suspense story. I can't wait to go back and read the other stories as I wait for the next story in the series. Mercry is the brains in the story or at least in her mind she is the brains and Logan is the muscle. The story is one of finding balance in the world, relationships and do whatever it takes to keep the ones you love safe. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the Advance Copy of Rebecca Zanetti Demon's Mercy |

Half Demon/half Vampire Logan is getting ready to go through the ritual to become one of the "Seven", a ritual he may not survive. Mercy is being tasked with not letting him go through the ritual. Fae Mercy has always been true to her people. She grew up knowing she would marry Niall and accepted that although she thought of him as more of a friend. With the Fae population very low, she must do what she can to protect her people. Logan knows he must go through the ritual to try and save the ultimate evil from being unleashed on the world. The forces that hold him in a prison are weakening. While Logan and Mercy fight the attraction that consume their every moment will they ever try to understand what is really happening in the world and try to work together? Logan knows she is his mate but she doesn't see the possibility. Logan and Mercy are pretty strong characters, both Alpha. If Logan thought Mercy would be subservient to him and to stay out of danger than he had another thing coming! Neither side really knows the absolute of what would happen in the future, just as their ideas would allow. The Fae were more naïve in their way of going about it, something that would bring even more danger. I loved the story of course and loved seeing the other characters from the Dark Protector family. I'd like to see more of Sam, Logan's brother and even see how the Fae President Dawn's life changes...and of course Hope, the next generation! And Minga? I loved that Rebecca dedicated this story to you!! If you are a DP fan, more excitement waits ahead and if you are new to the DP family, you have quite a treat coming!! |
Super fantastic, sexy hot addition to the ever growing series. We are getting answers to long ago asked questions along with new questions. This was so fun to read, i loved her spunky attitude and he was able to evolve around her. |
Logan and Mercy, two complete opposites, but you know they say opposites attract! And what an attraction! Mercy is a Fae (NOT Fairy!) and is very loyal to her race. But along comes Logan (can we say Hottie with a capital H?) and all bets are off. She tries, she really does, but can I just say Logan? I have enjoyed each and every one of these stories that Rebecca Zanetti has written, but I must say it’s nice to see how the next generation is coming along. Can’t wait for the next installment. Oh, by the way, I definitely recommend this book (really the whole series if you haven’t read them yet!). The women are strong and the men sometimes don’t know what hit them! I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for an honest opinion. |
After I finished the last book in the Dark Protectors series, all I could hear in my head was ‘Please, Sir, may I have another?’ And the book gods heard me because here it is: Demon's Mercy. More sexy Vampire-Demons, more chaos, more giggles and more mayhem. Why yes please, I will have another. Logan…? Logan…? LOGAN! It took me a while to remember who he was. I got so used to Garrett being attached to him at the hip I forgot he was a separate entity. For some reason in my head I always had him pegged as a younger guy. No matter, he’s all grown up now and quite the hottie. Mercy is a fae (don’t call them fairies!) and was an interesting character IMO. Her situation/creation/destiny made for a strange predicament. There are so few faes left that her life is all planned out for her, including who she is supposed to mate. Which was NOT supposed to be Logan. Oh, well! Things have a way of changing and sometimes you just cannot avoid the attraction. This was a very busy read! There’s a war coming and there’s plenty of build-up leading towards it. As you read each book in the series, you can feel when it happens it’s going to be epic! There are however, two items in the series that we keep getting sneak peeks to that have me oh so curious. The first is, of course, the re-building of the Seven. Every time a new one is inducted, we get a glimpse at the other Sevens. Are they all going to get mates and what about the ones that have gone missing? Hmmm… Now the one recurring thing that has me just ITCHING for the answer is Hope. How she fits into the prophecy, I have no problem waiting for that answer. I’m sure it has plenty to do with the final battle. It’s her dreamworld and Drake, but mainly Drake. Who is he because the not knowing is driving me nuts! I got a bad feeling about him and have my suspicions nothing is going to come out good with him around. ARGH! The suspense is killing me I peeked ahead to see who gets the next book. I see Ivar and not Garrett is next. Yays and boos at the same time. Boo because I can’t think of Logan without Garrett and since Logan got his HEA, Garrett is due. Yay! because, well, it’s Ivan. Either way I’m excited and cannot wait! I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated. Reviewed by Jac |
This was a fun and entertaining read. Loved Mercy who was Fae and how she drove poor Logan crazy. Lots of action and plenty of steam with lots of great characters from this series. Mercy was a fantastic character willing to fight and very defiant and strong. This book made me laugh at times. Plenty of chemistry with some sexy time and tons of action. Loved it!!! |

I received a copy of Demon's Mercy by Rebecca Zanetti from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Although I have not read the other books in this series (Demon's Mercy was #9 in the Dark Protectors series and I was new to the series), I was pleased that it did not take long to orient myself in this new world. Rebecca Zanetti was able to introduce the characters, their relationships and motivations or abilities, without bogging down the entire start of the this novel. It was quick to get up to speed. I found Demon's Mercy to be a decent read. It had an interesting storyline/plot and decent dialogue. Where I did think it fell short was the chemistry between the main characters though. I just didn't feel them. I will definitely check out the first novels in this series to see if different main characters made the experience more enjoyable. |
