LOVED THIS BOOK! This is the first book I've read in the series and was a tiny bit lost but wow does she create a world I want to get lost in. I loved the chemistry between Logan and Mercy! It really steamed up my kindle. I'm a sucker for "mates" and "markings" in stories. Logan was the perfect alpha-male … all over-protective and caring...yum. I really need to go back to the beginning. I was super interested to learn what Sam knew about his "calling". I received an ARC from netgalley for an honest, volunatary review! |
Although this book is number 9 in the series, (in actual fact, it's more than that, as there are some novellas that come earlier in the series too) it didn't really matter that it was the first that I read. With a book like this, there is a lot of world building to do and it's often a challenge to get the balance between writing something that will make sense to new readers and won't be too repetitive for those who have followed the series can be a huge challenge. Fortunately, for me at least, Rebecca Zanetti pulled it off. Logan is a Vampire - Demon hybrid. He has a destiny to fulfil and needs to become one of the 'seven.' Mercy is a fae (not a fairy, thank you very much) and her people have decided that the seven can't be completed and fully formed as it will pull apart dimensions and destroy everything. She tries her best to stop him, but the chemistry between them cannot be denied and perhaps there is more to all of this than either of them know. There's a lot going on in this story. The romance is great, but it almost takes a back seat to the progression of the rest of the story. I loved the conflict between Mercy and Logan, as they battle to gain control of each other and their feelings. I'd like to see more of that, but it looks as though there are a lot of other characters to deal with in future books. I'd like to go back and read some of the other stories but I'd also be keen to learn about those who have either not found their mate as yet, or perhaps don't seem to get on with their mate and then there's the next generation with a story to tell. This was a great read and I'm almost sorry that I started here, as clearly, nine books in, there are a lot of other books to get my teeth into already out there. I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own |
I've received a ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I normally never read fantasy romance novels but this took me on a whirlwind adventure! The writing, plot, and characters were refreshing! I love the cat and mouse cat between Mercy and Logan, and their chemistry is sizzling hot! |
I don't have the right words to describe how much I loved this book! I don't know if it's simply because of the return to the world of the Dark Protectors (I missed the last book and DEFINITELY need to go back and read it!) or if it was how much I loved Mercy. Mercy is Fae and wanted to believe that she was a badass, but was quickly proven wrong by Logan (a half vampire/half demon warrior). However, that doesn't mean that she was helpless or a princess who needed saving every step of the way. Mercy held her own and I loved her for it. I also really enjoyed visiting with characters from previous books and the interesting dynamic that Janie's daughter has with a Kurjan which so nicely mirrors her own childhood. Overall, I simply can't recommend this book enough and I can't wait for the next in the series!!! |
I absolutely love this series and I was so excited I was approved for an ARC! Once I started reading I was hooked! The action was awesome and the chemistry between Logan and Mercy was hot! Mercy is this cute Fae who takes no mess. Logan is a totally alpha male soldier but has a sweet side. They were a good fit. I enjoyed when Mercy would not just do what Logan said she has her own mind and didn’t have any problems telling him when to shove it lol! I can’t wait to read the next one! *Received ARC from NetGalley💙 |
4.5stars The name is so suitable for this book/story because demon Logan meets his mate Mercy. In this story, we found out that the fairies are real and not crazy but a nation with advanced weapons, knowledge and one goal to stop the Seven to form to full form. Logan has full hands with Mercy they argue trough whole book, they fight and they haw power struggles. Both characters great and well developed, they are both strong, stubborn and loyal to their cause. I loved that because of her king action she sees the real truth and what is the best thing to do and how to act The book is full of action, I had the feeling that Logan was fighting the whole time without a break. Action, suspense, hot men, funny fairie action, past, and the present, hot mating and lovely ending for Logan and Mercy. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly |
I really enjoyed this story. I realized after starting to read that I had read another of her books from this series. I would definitely continue with this series. Exciting storyline, fun characters, hot lovin! |

Demons Mercy features the next generation in the Dark Protector series, and a new species. the Fairy, although they prefer to be called Fae. The Demons don’t know much about the Fae, and much of the Fae knowledge is from books and other writings. Mercy is one of the Fae, and instead of killing Logan, she kidnaps him. Of course, that doesn’t go well, and there is a lot of cross purpose explaining and attacks from others. Logan is attracted to Mercy, but she can’t allow herself to be serious about him, and she can’t let him be hurt either. Lots of fast paced action, and of course some steamy sex scenes. Really enjoyed this addition to the series. |
This one was funny, but I do not know if I have the time and the desire of following also this series from beginning till the end, it's just that I am a little bit fed up with paranormal romance and vampires, demons, fae and hybrids. I do not know, but if I will read it further, Rebecca Zanetti is usually good and enjoyable. THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW! |

This was an ARC received. This is book 9 in the Dark Protectors Series. This can be read as a stand a line, however, in order to get a good grasp of all of the characters you should start at the beginning. Totally worth it! This story focuses on Logan Kyllwood, brother to Zane and Sam, who is a demon/vampire hybrid. He meets Mercy O'Malley, a Fae in a bar. What Logan doesn't realize is that Mercy is there to kidnap and kill him. Only he is there to try and protect her because she is one of the 3 keys. Mercy, will do anything she can to prevent the final formation of the Seven. The Seven is a group of hybrids who think they can protect the Earth from evil and Kurjans. However, Mercy is convinced it will be catastrophic if Logan completes the ritual to become one of the Seven. Logan's brother Sam is kidnapped instead, and he will stop at nothing to get him back and ensure his family's safety. They will need to learn to trust each other in order to survive. I give this book 4-1/2 stars! |

Mercy O’Malley hates killing people. So when she’s assigned to take out Vampire-Demon Logan Kyllwood, she lures him to a seedy bar in Scotland, then decides to kidnap him instead. Unfortunately for Mercy, attempted murder and kidnapping are just foreplay for the Kyllwood brothers. Logan may be the youngest of the bunch, but death and violence are already a way of life. When I started reading I couldn't put it down. Rebecca Zanetti is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book. |

Had me hooked from the first page. Hot guys, demons, vampires, witches & fae - and a smoking hot romance - what's not to like. |
This is one of my favorite stories in the Dark Protector series. I loved hot, alpha, protective, over-bearing and sexy Logan. It's not a good start to a relationship when you are kidnapped by a quirky Fae like Mercy. Both are trying to keep the Realms together, but Mercy has been misinformed for years. Logan and Mercy are like oil and water, but work together as they are being chased by others who may want them dead. Fast paced, sexy and electric fun by Rebecca Zanetti! I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion from the publishers thru NetGalley |
Really fun, actiony goodness, full of both heart stopping and swoon worthy moments. Recomend and can't wait for the next one! |
The book Demon's Mercy by Rebecca Zanetti was my first foray into her world of Dark Protectors. I had not been previously aware before picking up this book, that it had been a part of a series. This had mostly beneficial advantages for me. I came into this series unbiased. Also, unknowing of all the past characters and acts that have taken thus far. I also got to see the world building and a perhaps unique viewpoint from the side of Mercy, the heroine's side. I am unclear as to how much world building of her culture had been done in previous books. That leads me to the disadvantage, in that I am basically a bit out of the loop as to what each side has or had already accomplished. Although it was admittingly a bit frustrating at times, to understand what had previously happened; I could piece things well enough together that it is a perfectly good solid stand-alone book. It definitely gives you everything you need to enjoy the adventure, and to be able to connect the dots. I thoroughly enjoyed the opposites attract magnetism between Logan and Mercy. The book was wise enough not to center on the attraction building between Logan and Mercy alone, but work around the tension surrounding them in more ways than one. I'm sure that fans of the books will enjoy seeing their favorites again appearing in scenes. This just makes me want to read more about the Dark Protectors. A great, solid, and enjoyable read. I will be sure to go back and read another so that I can understand a lot more of the history of the Dark Protectors! This book was provided to me by netgalley |
This was a decent read. It stayed pretty steady throughout and gave you something to keep you motivated to read more. I am still not sure what to think of Mercy, but I will take a Logan any day. I will be interested to continue reading and see what happens in the next book. |

Wow.!! This one will definitely knock your socks off.! I think I have a new favorite hero and heroine in this fantastic world Zannetti has created. Can't wait for the next book.!!! |
This was my second book by Ms. Zanetti and first in the Dark Protectors series. And I liked it but I didn't really love it. Don't get me wrong, this is a good book, well worth the time it takes you to read it, I just didn't fall in love with the characters or the plot as I hoped I would. Part of my problem is that I haven't read any other of the Dark Protectors books and it took me quite a while to grasp what this fictional world is all about. But that's on me and not the book's fault. You can easily read this one as a stand alone but I think those who read the books that came before this will love this one more. And my second problem with this book, that lowered the rating from me, was Mercy, the heroine. I didn't like her. I couldn't warm up to her at all. She just rubbed me the wrong way I guess. I liked Logan, the hero, on the other hand, even if he came across as a very bossy caveman sometimes. That didn't diminsh his charms though. ;) Overall this wasn't a bad book, far from it. I recommend you read the previous ones in the series prior to starting this though. You'll enjoy it more. |
Mercy O’Malley is a fae. Her people have discovered discovered that the ritual that is making the Seven, a secret organization made up of hybrids who are sworn to protect the world from an evil being imprisoned in a different dimension, puts their very worlds in danger. Next on the list to become one is Logan Kyllwood, a vampire-demon hybrid. Mercy has read all about Logan, and she is determined to convince him to make a different choice. Logan is outraged that Mercy would try to kidnap him and get him to do her bidding. He thought he was kidnapping her, but it's easy enough to turn the tables and play to his advantage. Logan needs Mercy, since she is a Key. She could mean the difference between life and death for his people. How can he turn her around to his cause? Although DEMON'S MERCY by author Rebecca Zanetti is the first book I have read in the DARK PROTECTORS series, I feel that it could be read as a standalone. I am sure I would have felt a stronger connection to Logan's friends and family had I read more in the series, but I do not feel that it takes much away from DEMON'S MERCY. Logan and Mercy are two very different individuals/species, but both are about to become the other's savior. Love truly does conquer all in Ms. Zanetti's DEMON'S MERCY. I look forward to picking up the rest of the DARK PROTECTORS series. Readers will not want for hot alpha males here! |

This is the first book in this series I have read. It won't be the last. Mercy does have a thing about be called a fairy. The fun sex banter was so good. I laughed out loud with the "Holy Greek yogurt." The world building is so well done. So easy to fall into this book. |
