This graphic novel was soooo relatable and the art was very cute. It's full of short little comics all centered on the love of books and reading and I was able to relate to every single one. It was a delightful short read. |
What to say about this book, other than it’s a must read for all book lovers. It would make the perfect, most thoughtful gift for any book lover. It allows every book fan to feel validated and warmhearted about our beloved pastime. Beautifully done and this author gets it! |

There was no way I wasn't going to love this comic. It's called Book Love! I loved the illustrations. I felt like this book was about me! I enjoyed it so much that I have pre-ordered the hardcover. A must read for book lovers. |
I loved this book! It really made me laugh. There are comics here that relate to anyone who loves books. I have gone through most if not all of the funny situations described, and it was great to see them! |
I'm going to keep this review short but sweet, exactly like this book! I found this short graphic novel extremely endearing. I read it in one sitting and found myself smiling uncontrollably. I think this book describes bookish life perfectly. For what this book is, it's perfect and I wouldn't change anything. "By living a reading life... I live many lives at once." -Debbie Tung https://booksontuesday.blogspot.com/ https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2623790976 |
This is the book which every booklover should read. It is funny, its hilarious, it is so unrealistically realistic. . Feeling of deja vu; overwhelms the reader and everything seems so familiar and you think subconsciously have done this all. . Cartoons are funny, engaging and hit the nail on the head and covers everylife a booklover could live. . Emotions arising out of reading books are nicely depicted and you will laugh many times reading it. . I loved the book and look forward for more from the cartoonist. . Only drawback I could find was little repetition of few themes. Otherwise excellent book for any booklover. |

Great illustrations, any book lover will enjoy this. I think it will be an amazing gift. I highly recommend it |
This is my life in pictures. I squee-ed when I saw this book and the title, I really loved reading Quiet Girl In a Noisy World and knew that this title would be just as fun as the last. Book Love is all about being a lover of books and reading and all the quirky things we tend to do. The whole things is in a graphic novel format with loads of illustration. The artist/author does such a good job describing book lovers and loves in these illustrations and had me laughing out load and saying 'yup' a lot as I agreed with the weird things I also do (smelling books, having to go into every bookstore, always needing more books, having issues loaning books out, etc.) Everything about this was what I needed and wanted. The comic strips are so relatable and down to earth even if a bit odd... we all have our quirks. If you are a book lover or know one, this is a great book/ gift!! I highly suggest it and adore it. |
A collection of short comics centered around the joys, heartbreak, and deep love that readers have with books. Very few offered new insight or "feels" into the bookish world, but does that really matter in the world of book lovers? This is a charming read that will make any book lover feel seen and would be a great little gift for any and all lovers of books to enjoy. |
Even though this book is laid out as a comic book, it's just the perfect Christmas, Birthday, Boss Day, etc. book as a gift for serious book lovers like me. I got the impression that Ms. Tung followed me around while I talk to myself about books and more books. That is the main reason I purchased a book store a few years ago, it's life, my life. All off the pages will make you go, "What, that's just what I was thinking?" How can one not know the difference from the original book cover to the one created for the movie? One is the original and other is just freaking sinful. I plan on ordering 10 copies for the store and only order for my serious, serious friends. It’s is the BEST book of 2018. |
I discovered Debbie Tung three months ago on Pinterest. After sharing one of her comics on my social platform, I kept getting recommendations for her comics until I finally followed her on Tumblr. I realised most of her comics are book-related and share-worthy much like Grant Snider. She just connects at an inner-level and gets you straight off. You feel like it’s your words, your thoughts, she’s representing on paper. When Book Love came up for review, I just had to go through it in one sitting. At some point over the last three months, I’ve seen the strips but it still seems as fresh and joyous like you are discovering them for the first time. It’s something every bibliophile would like to hoard and flip through during a reading slump. Given the holiday season, it’s the perfect book a non-reader can get a bookworm. Trust me, they would hold you in a special light. I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. |
Thanks to the publishers for sharing this title. I really enjoyed it. My full review appears on Weekend Notes. |
Debbie Tung gets me. [I just went back and read the review I wrote from her first book - Quiet Girl in a Noisy World, and guess what’s there?? Yes! I love it when a book - even better a comic book - puts into words things that have rolled around in my brain. I could write the same thing about this book.] I just spent this whole book agreeing with every page. I’m going to a resort this spring with my girlfriend, and the most exciting thing about it is the library! Some things are funny because they’re funny. Some things are funny because they’re true. This is both. I love Debbie Tung’s cartoons - I guess mainly because I can relate. If you want to understand the bibliophiles in your life, check this out. If you are a bibliophile this has to be part of your collection. |
This was incredibly cute 😍 Book Love is the love letter to all things bookish - books, reading, libraries, bookshops, and especially to us bookworms and bookdragons. It is so cute and so spot-on. Every page felt like home, like it's showing me and my love for books. Debbie's art is beautiful. I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley, but I am going to buy this book for me as soon as it is published. And then I'm going to buy copies for each of my bookish friends. |

This charming comic shows the admiration and passion of a person who truly understands and is a book worm. I have often found myself in similar situations and found myself smiling and nodding along with her observations. A great sweet short love letter to books. |
Book Love by Debbie Tung is an essential for every book nerd. I can relate so much to the different scenarios. The art style is adorable. I just wish it was available for Christmas gifts this year but I did preorder my own copy. Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this book for review. |

What a fun, adorable book. Loved the graphics. It was fun seeing myself in so many of the situations. It was a little simple, contained many cliches, but I enjoyed it. |
Wonderful illustrations that capture the love and pure enjoyment of books. Very much enjoyed reading this. Relatable too. =) |
Book love- I know it well. If you too love books, then this is the book for you! Author Debbie Tung has created a relatable book of strips that details how bookworms feel about their beloved books. Drawn in black and white within a simple four panel format, the comic showcases a woman obsessed with books (I assume she is based on the author herself) and her understanding husband. So many of the strips hit home for me, as I have loved books since childhood. Libraries have always felt like home, so it comes as no surprise that I am a librarian, surrounded by what I love. The premise of the book is all about book love, so there is no plot or characterization, it is ALL about loving books and sometimes avoiding interacting with people in favor of the books. Each strip can stand alone. At times the strips become a bit one-note, yet that is the basis of the book. As I do all the social media for my library, I hope some of these adorable strips become available for re-print (with author credit, of course!) because posts on book love are always a big hit at my library. Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an advance copy; I just wish it was being published a few weeks earlier, so people could scoop up copies to give to the book lovers in their life. So, if you are a bibliophile, this book of comics is for you, and will be available in January 2019! |
This story collection was ADORABLE! I absolutely loved the illustrations and how relatable it was to book lovers like myself. I found myself smiling the WHOLE time I was reading it. This is just perfect for a day I need something to make me smile, i just loved it, it was so so cute |
