Ally Henderson is flying to New York where she is to marry her business partner fiancé in just a few days. Unluckily the weather chnages and makes it impossible to fly and the plane has to be redirected elsewhere. She gets stranded in the small town of Bethlehem, Colorado. The people in this small town try to provide accommodations to their new guests. Ally ends up with her fellow passenger Noel, a very pregnant and talkative lady – and staying with Peggy, an older lady that opens her house to them. Peggy’s son Jake Nelson takes the newcomers to his mother’s house. There’s instant chemistry between Ally and Jake, although both know it can’t become anything. For one Ally is to be married and Jake has problems of his own. But maybe… just maybe this unexpected turn of events that fate provided might lead somewhere?

This is a super cute and festive Christmas read. I love the – stranded somewhere – type of books and this was definitely a hit for me!

Ally has been having the worst luck and I totally felt for her! She seems like such a good person! When everything seems not to be able to get worse, it does and I couldn’t help but just want everything good to come to her. I’m not going to spoil anything but it really made it incredibly difficult for her and a lot of fun for me!

Noel is the most talkative and upbeat person I’ve ever had the chance to read about. I love how positive and jolly she is! Although I must say, I’m not sure I would have enjoyed having her as a next seat passenger at first… But she definitely turned out to be awesome!

As for Jake, I really liked him! Like Ally, I totally felt for him and his situation, and loved how much he tried to enjoy his life and move forward even tho it wasn’t easy.

I loved the chemistry between him and Ally super much. I think they are perfect for each other, after all – even tho they seem very different, it might just work out anyway, since opposites attract and all that, right?

This was such a good feeling Christmas story! Loved all the snow and the scenery of the tiny town they were in and loved the romance! It’s slow burning and just super cute! Definitely happy I got to read this during this time of the year even tho, I’m super late to get to it because of that…

This was my first Robert Tate Miller book and I quite enjoyed this story. Liked the character development and the story moved at a good pace, and it had the perfect amount of holiday cheer without going overboard and making it feel cheesy.

The Christmas Layover is my first book by Robert Tate Miller and I can say that I will probably pick up another in the future.

The story grabbed my attention from the start, pulling me into the lives of the characters and wanting to know more as well as see how the situation played out for each of them. The Christmas Layover was a story with a lot of pieces that all fit together to intrigue me. Characters I needed to know, stories I wanted to learn, and a blooming connection between two strangers. All added together with a touch of Christmas spirit.

When a plane headed for New York ends up diverted due to weather in a small town, none of the passengers realize how this change in plans will affect them. Most especially not Ally. What she finds in Bethleham is more than a respite from the storm and it might mean more than a little stop. Jake had no idea what to expect when he stopped at the airport to pick up passengers for his mother.

The Christmas Layover will suck you in and leave you satisfied with the outcome as it weaves you through the lives of many people and a chance encounter that could mean so much more. As chemistry sparks and feelings bloom, there's a lot that could come between these two, But will Ally find herself taking a chance on the unknown and Jake?

Was drawn to this book initially by the lovely cover Great book with a great storyline. Not what I was expecting at all so was a nice surprise. Easy to read and good characters in there too.

This was an okay read. This was like the book version of a Hallmark movie. I didn't like Ally very much at first. She was very judgmental of Jake, and the small town she was stranded in. I thought Jake was a good guy, he was just still hung up on his past. The people of the town were great, and they all added something to the story. Noel was a little strange. She was a grown, pregnant woman, but acted more like a 12 year old. I would have liked a little more closure with the whole Tim thing. There really should have been some justice for that situation. This wasn't my favorite book, but if you're looking for a sweet Christmas story, this is it.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

This is a delightful Christmas romance that should be read while you’re snuggled up in a blanket with a cup of tea and some Christmas cookies because it will definitely put you in the mood to suspend real life for a while. When Ally Henderson’s flight to New York is diverted to Bethlehem, Colorado because of bad weather she misses her wedding and she’s lost track of her fiancé too. When the little town of Bethlehem takes in the stranded travelers and Ally dreams of going back to the big city, she meets a small town guy named Jake who’s perfectly content to stay right where he is which leaves her questioning everything she thought she wanted for her future. I loved this book! I read a complimentary copy of this book provided by Entangled Publishing through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

This was a nice Christmas read. It is a story of making friends, finding home and ultimately finding yourself. Ally is headed from California to New York to get married when bad weather causes her flight to be re-routed to Bethlehem Colorado. Then life gets real. The storm has snowed them in and the town has welcomed the castaways to stay with them for the holiday. Ally's life changes forever. I enjoyed watching the transformation in Ally as she went through the stages of denial and then accepting the truth. Sometimes the best things rise from the ashes of what we thought was the end of our world. This was the first time I read this offer and I really enjoyed it.

Ally is heading to New York to finally get married to her partner Tim when she is seated on the plane next to Noel who is flying back to New Jersey to be with her husband, Brian. Noel happens to be heavily pregnant as well. Due to the weather storm, the plane is diverted to a small town of Bethlehem who goes out every Christmas - it's a Deck the town tradition. As there are no hotels available, the city has agreed to Billet, a few of the passengers. Ally and Noel end up being billeted by Peggy. Her son Jake runs Charlie's Diner which belonged to their father and has lost his Christmas spirit and spark. As the days go on and Ally doesn't hear from Tim, she starts to get worried and will learn that she has an excellent reason to be concerned as he has cleaned out her bank accounts and done a runner leaving her without a cent or her business. Noel, on the other hand, looks like she is about to explode and have her baby any day yet she's trying to hold on as it's a New Jersey tradition. The Christmas Layover was a fun heartwarming romance that reminded me heavily of a Hallmark Channel movie.

This was such a great holiday read!! I absolutely loved every aspect that the author put into the story along with the characteristics of the characters. What was put into these characters only enhanced the story and made it that much more real. It was like getting to know a good friend and her story that was being told! I highly recommend this beautiful story!

This was a cute, sweet holiday romance, and I really enjoyed it! Everything I look for in a holiday romance was all wrapped up in one nice, little bundle! This had the meet cute of an original misunderstanding between the Hero and heroine, plus the classic heroine being deceived by an ex. I loved the way this book, even though the heroine was dealing with some serious issues, was completely upbeat! I am a total sucker for those Hallmark channel style Holiday romances, and this one lived up to the expectation I set! The storyline is one I picked up on very early, loosely following the story of the plane that had to divert to Nova Scotia during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America. AS the majority of Americans can attest, this was a very trying, emotional time for us, as well as the entire world. This book was able to bring back the stories that emerged after those days and weeks, which added to the enjoyment and emotions I felt reading this book. I also absolutely LOVE Colorado, so the fact this story was mostly based in a small, fictional town in an area I love connected me even more to the story!
The Hero had his own tragedies he was trying to get over when he met the heroine. I loved watching their interactions grow from being slightly antagonistic, to friendly, to helping each other cope... eventually to love. It was a beautiful story that I give 4.5 stars, and I would recommend this to anyone!

4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this one so much. I will admit I was cringing along with Ally with everything thrown her way. I felt so bad for her, but she took a horrible situation and made the best of it. Everything she went through may be an unexpected blessing. I want visit Bethlehem at Christmas time. It sounds so magical especially around the holidays. Reading how that town welcomed the stranded travelers will warm your heart. It's the true meaning of the holiday season! I swooned many a time when it came to Jake. He's definitely top book boyfriend material! This book will have you laughing, but it also hits your right in the heart. It's the perfect book to read especially during the holiday season.

This is a delightful festive romance set mainly in Bethlehem, Colorado. It begins with Ally Henderson flying to New York where she is to marry her business partner fiancé in a few days time. Inclement weather forces the plane to land in the small airport near Bethlehem. The people of the equally small town rally round to provide accommodation for their unexpected guests. Ally ends up going with her fellow passenger, the very pregnant Noel, to stay with Peggy. Peggy's son, Jake Nelson, takes the two from the airport to his mother's home. There's instant attraction between Ally and Jake but both know it can lead no where ..... or does fate have other plans for this pair? You'll just have to read it yourself to find out!

This story has great characters, a variety of interwoven plots, a betrayal, two romances and a heartwarming story for the festive season. Nothing is straightforward but all works out well in the end. It is a fun read with plenty of twists and turns, surprises and festive cheer along the way. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone who enjoys festive romances.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley. This is my honest review after reading and enjoying this story.

when Ally Henderson finds herself in the small town of Bethlehem after her flight to New York is diverted due to bad weather, she's determined to make the most of it. However, it's not that easy, especially when she's so far away from her real life and then her fiancée turns her life upside down. Will Jake be able to help Ally forget her problems or will they lose their shot at happy ever after because Ally is a city girl while Jake will always be a small town guy?

What a sweet, fast-paced, delightful read this author has delivered in this book, which packed quite the emotional punch due to the hero's back story, but had me loving the playful banter between the hero and heroine as well as the growing friendship between the heroine and one of the secondary characters. Really, the growing friendship was cute, as Noel is such an interesting secondary character. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time where this story really gets interesting, as they don't get off to the best of starts. How could the hero say what he does when it comes to her career?

With the main characters, the heroine goes through quite a lot and I could understand why she isn't ready to give up on her dreams, especially when she's hit rock bottom in terms of what she loses because of her ex and whether she'll be able to get it back. Yet, in saying that, she's resilient, courageous, loves to give advice and I liked how determined she was to see the best in the situation she's found herself in. Since she isn't used to be being part of a small town that shows secrets don't stay hidden. While the hero, he's had it tough since the death of his fiancée and I couldn't help but sympathize with him. He's also confident, a little cocky when it comes to the competition he faces, has a good relationship with his family and I liked how determined he was to show the heroine that all hope isn't lost, especially with what she discovers about her fiancée and his deceiving ways. How could the guy be so selfish?

Overall, Mr. Miller has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance was on the sweet side and the ending had me loving the hero's determination to win Ally's heart. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely, as Ally and Jake have come so far in their relationship and have so much more happiness to look forward to. I would recommend The Christmas Layover by Robert Tate Miller, if you enjoy small town romances, the opposites attract trope or books by authors LE Rico, Victoria James, Sonya Weiss and Jennifer Hoopes.
