Dare Me Again is a wonderfully engaging read. Elliott and Rebel are great and their interaction amazing. This author is definitely heading toward my favorite list and I look forward to reading more

Dare Me Again is the second book in the Angel Fire Falls series By Shelly Alexander. You can read it as a standalone but I do recommend reading Dare Me since it was just as fun, sexy, and heartwarming. It was where Elliott’s brother, Trace fell in love and now it was his turn.

Elliott never backed down from a dare. Never. His brothers would never let him live it down. So he agreed to their latest one. He would be the family face for the service dog training for veterans. A training that will be held on their property. The Remington. It wouldn’t be such a big deal except dogs hated him. He really thought that would be the only challenge to the bet. Nope. The dog whisperer in charge would take the number one spot. His ex-girlfriend. The one who disappeared, leaving only a Dear, John letter behind.

Rebel couldn’t believe she was doing this. Going back to the island where she grew up. Where she left the only man she ever loved behind. For his own good she believed. But, that was ten years ago. It was time to deal with her past so she could move forward. And she needed the paycheck so she could do just that. Back in Portland. Five weeks. She could survive five weeks then get back on that ferry to get off the island for good. Except, she didn’t expect what would happen when she saw him again.

Elliott and Rebel’s relationship was different now. They had jobs to do. Important ones. Ones that would get them to where they want to be. Him in San Francisco and her in Portland. Two completely different worlds. His in finance. Hers with dogs. Can they put their past behind them to get to the end goal? Will being in the same room bring back memories that we’re hiding away so they wouldn’t be in pain? Can they find a way to have a second chance? A one month fling? Anything? Can he even trust her not to run away again?

Aw! I loved this one. When there are animals involved it’s always an added bonus. It makes me want to cuddle with my own pets. Anyway, I enjoyed Elliott and Rebel’s story. They both have secrets and pasts to work through. Rebel is definitely a badass who has made mistakes but trying to give back in any way she can. Elliott is the serious brother but he has a big heart. Together, I loved their banter, chemistry, and laughter.

Overall...it’s a great story full of inspiration, love, heat, and fun. I am excited for the next book. I think I know who is up next 😉

Quotes:

“Those vets survived war,” Spence said. “You can survive an old girlfriend for five weeks.”
“That’s low, even for you two idiots,” Elliott huffed.

“My tone is authoritative,” he said.
“You just keep telling yourself that,” she countered, forcing her thoughts back to the dog.

“I see your ego has surpassed your massive IQ.”

Dare Me Again (Angel Fire Falls, #2) by Shelly Alexander ...WOW... thank you Shelly for a great read..and thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview this book. I'm in love with all the Remingtons and Angel Fire Falls... Elliot and Rebel are both hurting from 10 years ago and are both hiding something that has ruled their lives. She is a trainer of support dogs..he is home helping the family and the resort but plans to go back to his high paid, high stress financial job. This books pull at all the strings of your heart. Vets who need support dogs, dogs that need to be needed, Autism, love and forgiveness. Lets not forget Rem and Bogart. I laughed, cried (ugly), enjoyed the story and the feels and steamy sex all on the way to a very HEA. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Original Easy-to-read Entertaining Romantic Realistic Wonderful characters Great world building Informative Funny Page-turner Steamy Happily Ever After

Second Chance at love and life romance

Dare Me Again is the second book in Shelly Alexander’s Angel Fire Falls series. I’m not sure why, but I had a harder time getting engaged in Rebel and Elliot than I did in the previous book. I think the story line about the Service Dog Camp for veterans was interesting. However I found that having both main characters reflecting on their “guilt” baggage a little disruptive to the flow of the story. That being said there are many 4 and 5 star reviews and I encourage readers to pick up the book and see what they think.
I received an advance reader copy via NetGalley.

I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of this book. It is a very touching story line that talks about human and canine injustices. By combining the two you come up with a second chance at love but only after the main characters are able to deal with life’s baggage.
I dare you to read it....

Dare Me Again is Book 2 in Shelly Alexander's Angel Fire Falls series. It could certainly be read as a standalone but Book 1 is great and the characters do appear this time around as well so I do recommend giving it a try as well.

The sparks flew off the pages between Rebel and Elliott. Oh my! Friends and lovers until Rebel leaves town and Elliot with only a brief note explaining. I enjoyed watching the story unfold between these two as they learned to trust each other and rebuild their relationship. I was also a sucker for all the dogs!!!

Oh what did I just read? Shelly does it again in book two in this series! Incredible story and so hard to put down. Elliot has come home to the family resort to help out his brothers and Dad. He's got a great job in San Fran and a partnership waiting for him. Something he values above all else, but he hasn't told his family he has no plans to stay on the island.
There resort is hosting a service dog workshop pairing dogs with Veterans who have a variety of problems. The event is being sponsored by a large corporation and when the original dog trainer drops out, Lily finds a replacement. A dog whisperer, in the form of Rebel Tate. Rebel once lived on the island and left 10 years ago without a word and hasn't been back. Rebel and Elliot were a couple, they had plans and Rebel vanishes with a goodbye note. What a rough life this young girl had, she finds her calling or maybe her calling finds her, but she's now a sought after dog trainer. Her heart lies with working with service animals and people who need them. There's a reason for that.
No one else in the family is available to assist Rebel and part of the deal for the event was that a family member take part. Elliot is it. His distaste, distrust and flat out meanness for Rebel make him a hard man to warm up to. Elliot's hiding his own secrets and constantly calls Rebel out on hers.
I loved Rebel and both her strengths and weaknesses. Shelly had written an honest human character.
It takes Elliot most of the book for him to suss out Rebel's story after the 10 years that have passed since they last saw each other. His anger still boils over. Pressured by his job waiting for him, dealing with Rebel and his brothers, he's torn I think but you don't get that impression in the book. You get a selfish man who's going to leave his family again, who's willing to lose the event despite it already being in progress, all because of his selfishness. It was sad watching him at times, another thing he did which grate on me was that Rebel went to a shelter over on the mainland and got a young man who had experience with dogs because the trainers didn't show with the dogs. It was hard to ascertain whether the guy was on the high end of the spectrum or not but clearly he just took simple direction and was a champ with the dogs and helped Rebel immensely. Elliot always had a mumbled commentary about whatever he said or did. That irritated the nuts out of me. He finally stopped doing it. This was such a great story and a tad tidy at the end, but nonetheless I loved it and can't wait for the next one. It's got everything you want in a story. I also loved the service dogs aspect.
It's a must read. Absolutely.
More than 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this second book in the series. All the stuff with the service dogs about training and pairing them was wonderful. Rebel and Elliott are great characters and I’m glad they worked everything out and unloaded years worth of guilt. I’m looking forward to the other books in the series!

A wonderful second chance romance that you will fall in love with. Dare Me Again is filled with love and family. The Remington family is back and this time it's Elliot who is getting a second chance with the only girl he's loved Rebel. Elliot is a wiz when it comes to helping get the family hotel back up on track. He is an amazing guy yet a workaholic who you can tell is missing just that little something. Rebel hasn't had an easy life and once you read this one you feel for her. Her work with training dogs takes her back to the place she once called home. Once Rebel and Elliot see each other you can just feel those sparks fly. I love the chemistry between Rebel and Elliot and the changes they both go through throughout Dare Me Again. This book is simply lovely and I can't wait for the next book to follow with more of the Remington clan.

I received a free, advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Rebel has been through so much in her 28 years. When she decides to return to Angel Fire Falls to head up a boot camp for service dogs and wounded vets, she has to face the ones she left behind. She has a lot of explaining to do to Elliott, but once she decides to stop running away and use her words to communicate, she realizes that the Remington’s are the only family she needs! Great book with lots of ‘feels’!

I read the first book in this series previously and I definitely think that it helped me understand several scenes in the second book.

DARE ME AGAIN by Shelly Alexander is a wonderful story. It grabs you from page one, I couldn't put it down! Elliot and Rebel were teenagers in love, who are reunited. They work together to match Veterans with service dogs. They're both carrying around baggage and secrets. They both need to knock down the walls around their hearts for this second chance romance.

OK call me a sucka but come on how can you turn away from a book where there are vets being helped, dogs being rescued, a kid with whose special in his own right getting his merit badge and a second chance romance from two that deserve it more than most. Both running from a past and both with secrets, both stuck somewhere they don't want to be by the circumstances of their past. These two can't be more the same and both different but what matters most is a love that's deep and true. Well deep and true when they both tend to run and hide instead of face things but trust me this time no running is allowed. Great read, the brothers don't disappoint, neither do their women and of course we gotta include the author. I love the direction of her reads, the intensity and yes the emotion (the vets and dogs got to me in a powerful way). And that's it go read it.

This was a sweet second-chance romance. The heroine is a gutsy survivor who overcame a terrible childhood and living homeless to become a professional dog trainer. The hero is a bit off-putting at first because he can’t seem to get over himself and the bitterness he feels from Rebel, the heroine, having left him with no explanation when they were just 18. Now he’s a successful money manager who has come home to his family’s island resort to help them pull it together after it had declined. He loves his family, but he’s always planning to leave.

What brings them all together is a wonderful opportunity to match service dogs with wounded veterans. That part of the story is just lovely and I would have liked more of that instead of repeated scenes of Rebel and Elliot trying to resist their attraction to each other.

After complications with the training program, it will all work out just as their romance will survive complications to work out.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

I've never read anything by this author so I was pleasantly surprised when I began reading this book and immediately became immersed in the storyline and the characters of Angel Fire Falls. Although this book can be read as a standalone (because I didn't read the first book), I'm going to purchase Dare Me Once because I enjoyed this one so much. The characters were well written and well developed and realistic as was the plot which is sometimes absent in contemporary romance. I especially appreciated the attention this book gives to veterans and how service/therapy dogs can give them a better quality of life. Elliott and Rebel have some intense chemistry as well! A beautifully written story that is well worth the read! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

So this is how a heart breaks. With the best of intentions. Dare Me Again is the perfect example of why Shelly Alexander is one of my favorite authors. She's not afraid to look beyond the fantasy and magnify the heartache of reality. Elliott and Rebel's biggest flaw is that they are afraid to human. Not sure how to be vulnerable and prone to make mistakes. Those are emotions we all can relate to. Between the lines of despair exist a message of survival that is courageously captivating. We all have secrets that are painful, but the key to healing is allowing others in to help us weather the storm.

A lovely, feel good romance. Easy reading, awesome writing and well developed characters. I can't wait to read from this author.

Loved this series! Whilst Trace and Lily's story introduced the remington's this 2nd novel tells us more about the Remington's as a family and in Elliott's story we learn about his past and then enter Rebel, a woman with secrets and an intimate tie to Elliott's past.
What follows is comedy and attraction as both struggle to overcome the leftovers of the past and move forward.
Its a heartwarming story of second chances and mistakes as both fight their way through years of guilt, grief and confusion.

I was lucky enough to read the first instalment of the Remington brothers and I adored the book so I was delighted to be approved for the 2nd book and I wasn't disappointed.
I fell in love with the characters straight away and read the book in just one evening. The story was very well thought through and the characters believable and well rounded.
I can't wait for the next book!!!
