Mirror, Mirror is my first twisted tales read. I adored Snow White when I was little. The retelling puts a truly unique spin on the classic. It's a more modern take on love and happy ever after. I enjoyed the story, and I plan to read more in the series. It's cute, charming, fun and easy to read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review

This is the next in the set of Twisted Tales series and although I have yet to read any of the others I just had to request this one based on Snow White.

While Snow is a very likeable character this story centers more around Ingrid, the Evil Queen, and her back story. Ingrid's chapters are captivating and more enjoyable then Snow's. Getting into the thoughts of the villain is always fun and interesting ride.

Full disclosure, Snow White is probably my least favorite of the Disney princesses. Not because there is necessarily anything wrong with her or her story but more because I feel like she is constantly being redone. Ok, I may also find her the most boring of the princesses but to each their own right? With that said I did enjoy getting to look a little into the Evil Queen's past in this new retelling. Like most people I find myself drawn more to the villains of stories then the heroes. I like knowing what makes them tick, why are they the way they are? Is it because of their upbringing? Did they lose their true love? Are they just born evil? I like knowing it all. This gives you a small glimpse into the lives of Snow's mother and aunt before Katherine ever became queen and gave birth to the most well known princess in existence.

Most of the story is much like you would remember from the Disney movie we've all seen. Queen is evil, Snow meets a boy, Queen tries to have Snow killed because she's prettier then the queen, Huntsman can't do it, Snow runs away and meets the dwarfs. Like I said, we've all seen or read the story before. This one differs however in actually showing you the past. I didn't feel like anything was forced too much, like most retellings it wanted to be different but also stay true to the original story and this marched its way right into a very solid retelling category for me.

As a new author in the Twisted Tales series Jen Calonita did a very good job introducing her writing style to the fans that have been here since the beginning and I look forward to hopefully seeing more books from her in this same series. While it may not have been my favorite one that's come out you better believe that I will still be picking it up and adding it to the rest of the series on April 2nd. I would also like to throw a huge thank you out to Netgalley as this was one of my top 10 most anticipated books of the year and thanks to them I got the chance to read it early and give you guys my thoughts on it!

I kind of disliked this one. It felt really childish in the way everyone talked to each other and the way things happened. I really only liked part of the end where it seemed a little more young adult-ish, but them it resumed it child like quality. It just could of used a little more, we all know Snow White, make it interesting. This one fell flat.

I received a free e-arc of this title from Netgalley and Disney Press in exchange for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this retelling of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! It was really neat to read both Snow White’s and the Evil Queen’s point of view in the story. I love the twist of this whole story! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves fairytale retellings and Disney! Thanks again to Netgalley, Disney Press, and the author. I can’t wait to see what comes out next in this series!

Mirror, Mirror by Jen Carolita is the spellbinding story of the Evil Queen!

This was a fun spin on the classic tale of Snow White, I loved getting to see the story from the Evil Queen’s point of view as she is one of my favorite villains ever!

Seeing a classic tale through the eyes of the villain is always so unique and unexpected, it makes you sympathize with them and see them in a different light!

Ingrid was my favorite character for sure, she had so many layers and it was fun to see them all.

I cannot wait to see where this series goes!

This book is perfect for fans of retellings and Disney!
I highly recommend it!

I am a fairytale fan & love retellings! I enjoyed this so much & loves that Snow White wasn’t just a one sided character. That she had so many dimensions; not just lovely, meek & mild but strong & able to do more than just be a “pretty princess.” She is showing girls that women can be the heroes of their own lives & that they can do anything they put their minds to.

I would definitely recommend this book to students & adults who enjoy reading.

I received this ARC from NetGalley for a review.

Another very cute book in this series. I own a few books in this series and I love the retelling in these books. This one had a great twist put on the story we all love and adore. Snow White. I will continue to read more if this series continues with others.

Another great fairy-telling retelling! Love this series, especially for my middle school classroom. Having the prince be the one that gets cursed brings a nice twist as it makes Snow White the hero instead of the damsel in distress. Changing fairy tales with simple twists, brings these stories back into kids' lives and gains their interest.

I like that these stories follow the Disney movies because then struggling readers might already have some background knowledge to help them comprehend the story even more.

I will definitely purchase this title to add to my classroom library and add to the Twisted Tales collection in my classroom.

This is a fun retelling of the Snow White and Prince Charming tale in which Snow White gets to save the prince. This follows many of the same storylines that kids are familiar with but provides additional background of the characters making them more three dimensional. Fun middle grade fiction that kids will eat like candy!

I just finished this and I have to say that I deeply enjoyed it.

I love retellings and I haven't read lots of snow white retellings and this was amazing.

It was also a super fast read and I finished it in 3 hours and half.

I loved the character of snow and also I enjoyed the queen and her back story

So far, my students have been very happy with all the books in this series. This title is no different. Calonita delivers a delightful twist on a familiar tale. For her familiar fans they will also not be disappointed because her writing style remains constant and feels like an old friend even though the story is unique.

Thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of Mirror Mirror.
Because this book is intended for a middle grade audience, I tried to read from that perspective. I enjoy fairy tale retellings, and this one was no exception. It seems that Snow White retellings are less common than say, Beauty and the Beast retellings, so it was refreshing to read about the evil Ingrid and Snow White's plot to rid the land of Ingrid once and for all.

This was a fun twist on the story of Snow White that we all know and love, but this book just isn’t for me unfortunately. I can see how other readers would love it, but I just didn’t.

I’ve really enjoyed reading reimagined fairytales and this series often times makes me reevaluate how I view the villians of the story. It is such a refreshing change of pace and villians I never even cared about before now have a new motive and inner turmoil. Snow White was never my favorite princess but this book showed her in a new decidely “non-disney” light and it was fantastic.

A Twisted Tale Series is widely popular throughout our community and is a favorite series of mine due to being a huge fan of Disney books. I was also thrilled that Jen Calonita was the creative force behind this installment and lastly, Snow White is one of my all time favorite Disney story. This book had all twists and turns in every page and the story we all know as Snow White will never be the same. I really liked the direction the book was going captivating each event and climax that made the reader not want to put the book down.

Mirror, Mirror is such a fun retelling of Snow White, I loved it! It is the 6th book in the Twisted Tales Series. The story follows most of the classic tale with the exception of a twist toward the ending that I don’t want to spoil!
I used to love Snow White as a little girl and reading this book took me back to my childhood.
If you’re a Disney fan, this will be a fun and quick read! I will definitely be looking for the other Twisted Tales!
Thank you to Disney and NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book, as much as I loved all the other books in this series because I feel like the authors have given us completely new characters from the ones we already knew while still keeping the parts that we originally loved and taking out everything that never made any sense at all.

In this retelling we not only get to see a Sleeping Princess turn into a fighting princess, who wants to right the wrongs of her people but of her family, and we get the Evil Queen's story as well and I adore that. We get a deeper understanding of these characters who we only know so much about in the original film as well as some new characters, and some tropes get switched around.

Personally, I love this series, and I will likely be running out to buy the hard copy of this when it gets published so that it can go with the rest of them because I think that with each book it gets more interesting and with this one it just proves that fact.

Snow's journey was amazing, and I was happy to see that she was so focused on her task and doing what she thought was right, while at the same time we see the Queen's journey and what she thinks was right and a conflict of emotions and how they played out, Calonita managed to script it perfectly.
