A concise and easy to use dictionary with hundreds of objects and situations that are interpreted. A good reference source for people who do dreamwork, and for libraries with people interested in dreams. |
Very interesting reference, although I am not sure if I actually believe in this or not. I think sometimes dreams are just nonsense, but it's fun to read about the possible interpretations. |
Interesting and thorough, this book dives deep into how to explain the meaning in the symbols within dreams. It's such an interesting topic to me, and I really thought this was an easy to follow guidance. I knew some of the symbols in here, but I cannot remember seeing as many symbols in one text as I found in this book. |
This is a health, mind and body self-help book. Have you ever wondered what your dreams meant or talked about it with your friends and family? Perhaps you have heard others discuss it or watched a program discussing this topic. Well, this is what this book is about. It is a guide about dreams and is interesting. Whether you believe it or not it is interesting. You'll be able to take a dream or a item in a dream and translate it or find a meaning. Perhaps it will be more of a generalization of analyzing dreams overall and helps recognize the importance of dream or certain types of dreams. It may be what your dream is trying to tell you or is saying about your life. Your mind is speaking to you while you sleep -- what is it saying? This book is a decoder. It is well written and if you enjoy dream interpretation this is the book for you. It is also a companion book to The Curious Dreamer's Practical Guide to Dream Interpretation, which I haven't read, but might be more helpful. |
This is a good reference book with a comprehensive list of dream images and actions. Thoughtful descriptions and suggestions are included, as well as a detail index with cross-referencing. I thought the introduction and first section of the book were great for insight in to examining dreams and how to use the later majority of the book for analysis. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. |
Such amazing insight on dreams. A must have on every nightstand to understand what your dreams mean. |
Not quite what I was expecting, but a useful guide to keep on the reference shelf. It's not easy to navigate, or a straightforward as I thought it would be. Interesting, though. |
I was very interested in reading a book that would help me interpret my dreams. And, although this book has some very interesting and well researched information, I couldn’t really connect to it or use it to help me find the answers I was looking for. I know that would seem a super critical thing to say, as one size does not fit all in anything, but I honestly did not find anything even close to helped me understand my dreams, as had hoped, so feel this is merely me being open and honest. I must emphasise it is a well written, and very detailed book and I am sure those with more experience in such areas will find it far more useful. But, for me, there was just something stopping me from connecting to it and finding the resolutions I had hoped it would help me with. |
Really comprehensive guide with examples. I found it a bit too oriented on the "abstract" at first, that is, I tend to dream quite realistic things that have to do with my day to day experiences and people, but still, the amount of symbols you can search is really helpful. It can provide insight past the regular associations we do. Also, I found it quite challenging to read in my computer, because of the weird formatting, and also, because of the extension of the book, the programme constantly froze. |
I decided to review this book to get more info on dream interpretation. But I quickly realized that the book is a lot about psychology and not really biblical which is what I am looking for. I do love the cover tho. |
The Curious Dreamer's Dream Dictionary is a book meant for the person who wants to interpret dreams, not the person who wants a book to do all the thinking for them with cut and dried symbolism meanings. If you want to put real thought into your dreams and what they mean then this would be a wonderful book for you. I feel that that is what makes this book more helpful to those that really want to learn this craft. You will not find a long list of symbols and what they mean here. Really, a train going through a tunnel might be about sex....or maybe you're going on a train trip and it's nothing more than a dream about a train! This book makes you think, therefore it is more complicated and is not a quick reference guide to dream symbols but is a good book for the introspective reader. #TheCuriousDreamer'sDreamDictionary #NancyWagaman #netgalley |

Pretty cool dictionary to help depict dreams! If you're into figuring out your dreams and what they mean, this book can help you. |
I have always been interested in dreams and lately I have been having some bizarre ones/ I know they are reflection of life and what you're thinking so I always check the internet for reasons. This is quite an interesting book and looks into the meanings behind the symbols to. It's almost like an exploration of what is going on and leading to some quite interesting finds. If you are into learning more about your dreams I highly recommend this book. |

This is one of those fascinating books about dream interpretation and defining what your dream actually mean. This has to be one of the nicest dream dictionaries I have read. |

This is the perfect book for dreams as you can just dip into it whenever you are curious about certain elements |
Thanks to netgalley for an early copy in return for an honest review What a wonderful book to dip in and out of can highly recommend |
A very complete dictionary of dreams for any level of experience. The pictures are amazing. This is the book to keep on the nightstand along with The Curious Dreamer’s Practical Guide to Dream Interpretation by Nancy Wagaman. #TheCuriousDreamersDictionary #NetGalley |
I was disappointed there was no Alice in Wonderland theme despite the cover. The book gives you explanation of many, many symbols you see in your dreams. I really like that it included intangible things such as emotions. Too many books only focus on physically representation. I wish the book had been organized by category but I know some people probably like their lists in alphabetical order. To get the most out of this book, you should probably read the dream interpretation guide that is made to pair with it. |
This is a lovely dream encyclopedia to have for those interested in looking up the symbolism behind their dreams on a regular basis. Especially with the amount of annoying advertisements you need to wade through on most dream interpretation websites, it's nice to have an actual book for this sort of thing. The book starts with three introductory chapters on how to decode dream symbolism, which are helpful for beginning dream interpreters. These chapters are followed by an extensive collection of symbols that are each explained in a compact paragraph. Some broader themes, such as "hair", cover multiple dream scenarios (e.g. cutting hair versus hair loss). Although real-life dictionaries can sometimes be easier to browse through than digital ones, the index in the Kindle version helps you get to the page you need quite quickly. Most symbol descriptions also refer you to links to a related theme, which help you to deepen your search for meaning. Overall, I would certainly recommend adding this book to your collection. |
Have always loved reading about dream interpretation and I love anything to do with Alice in Wonderland, so this was perfect for me. Love the layout of the book and how the chapters were broken up. Very informative. Will definitely keep visiting this from time to time. I look forward to interpreting my dreams and knowing more about them. |
