Myself being an Immigrant and have lived here for almost 7 years now it was very interested to read the story of each one of these 16 individuals in this very compelling collection. Makes you understand more that truly every person is different and that all our circumstances are different as well. Interesting to see by reading each story how expectations, ideas, thoughts we have about America can vary from person to person. The challenges we face but also what I like most about the book is how much we can learn from other people and understand their circumstances and reasons, after all, like I said before what I might have experience as an immigrant is not necessarily the same as others. These 16 stories give you a deep look of their journeys and their experiences and definitely from each something we can learn.

This book is timely given the socio-political situation in America right now. I loved reading stories of these immigrants and what America means to them.
What stood out for me was how resilient they were in the face of change, a new language, culture and how each one of them did not lose sight of their dreams and goals.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.
