This is a great book explaining to children about what a veterinarian does. It explains about the vet's job as well as describing reasons for a trip to the vet. I liked that they showed both male and female vets as well as other persons working at the office (i.e. vet techs). The text is short, perfect for emerging readers, with a glossary included to a parent, caregiver or teacher could pre-teach some of the subject related words that the reader would not have come across before. At the end of the book there are activities a teacher or caregiver could do with the reader as well as a list of words used in the book.
