ARC received for an honest review.

Not an original thought in this one. To be fair, it's chick lit - not romance. And chick lit is just an awful awful genre. When I requested the ARC (because I wanted something light and fluffy) it was listed as a romance. Had I known what it really was I wouldn't have asked for it.

So a chick meets a dude while she's on vacay. It's meaningful. We're supposed to be able to tell that based on their conversations. Which were strange and immature - apparently this means they're comfortable with one another and meant to be. Then they lose touch. Then they run into one another. Cue more stilted conversations. Add in evil significant others (this has to be my most hated plot device. The instant - instant - the H/h's significant other is a petty, snotty, immature, evil, backstabbing twat however the character stay with them "because" I know that I hate the book and hate the characters.)

The only reason it got 2 stars rather than one is because I like British/New Zealand/Australian writing.

A second chance romance that is endearing and unputdownable. From a chance encounter to meeting years down the road, I was rooting for this couple to have their happily ever after throughout. Belinda Missen tells a story that is funny, romantic with a touch of angst that’s puts the main characters through their paces.

Perfect chemistry with the perfect amount of “smart is sexy” vibe. I loved every page.

Charm level HIGH.
Steam level minimal and appropriate for all ages.

4☆ A Warm, Sweet Romance with plenty of Wit and humour.

AN IMPOSSIBLE THING CALLED LOVE is a charming feel good Sweet Romance.

This is very much a love story between two people who fall hard for each other, over a period of time. Only to lose contact. Then find each other again by a chance encounter.

Emmy and Will meet by chance and they have an instant connection.
Emmy has to go travel back to Australia so they both decide to keep in contact.
The two try to keep their spark alive but as time moves on, the letters and communication stops.
Broken hearted Emmy moves to London to start over.
But you guessed it!....who should she bump into?.... Yeap The Handsome Will.

We follow them through the ups and downs of trying to keep their encounters and romance alive. A new start, A new Relationship.... But can she really get her Second Chance at Love?

It's a sweet cosy romance, the characters are wonderfully written and engaging.
The dialogue is witty, entertaining, and had me laughing out loud.
The pace flowed along nicely, it made for a compelling and heart warming read.

An Impossible Thing Called Love by Belinda Missen is the most charming, fun filled, delightful contemporary romance that will leave you feeling good.

A wonderful humorous look at love, with two lead characters exchanging many amusing dialogues. This book will have you smiling throughout as a great love radiates from its pages. I found An Impossible Thing Called Love very reminiscent of the film Love Story - the great love is tangible for all to feel.

The characters are perfectly drawn. I could 'see' them in my mind's eye, but more than that, I could 'feel' them. I felt an emotional attachment to them, as if the characters reached out from the pages of the book and touched my heart - never have I felt such an emotional response to fictional characters before.

The reader is in for a cosmopolitan treat as the action travels from Edinburgh to Australia to London to Paris, the city of love.

I really cannot praise An Impossible Thing Called Love highly enough. It's a perfectly charming feel good read with characters that remain long after the book is ended.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

This is such a feel good romance novel that I smiled through the entire book! Who knew that such a chance encounter that happened repeatedly would lead to true love? A happy and fun read coupled with the British humour I enjoy. Well worth it.

While travelling around Europe, Emmy meets William one night by some crazy misfortune, i.e. getting punched in the face by her friend, and they fall immediately in love. I'm generally not a huge fan of the instalove trope, so I wasn't that taken by Emmy and William's whirlwind romance, which also happens over a number of coincidental encounters. Then there is this huge epistolary section following Emmy and William over a year or so as they try to keep in touch. I don't mind a change in style, but the letters felt very clunky to me and sort of ruined the flow of their story. I had trouble relating to Emmy and William and I didn't find either of them particularly likeable, so I didn't feel too invested in their romance. There were some opportunities for a more dynamic story (e.g. developing Emmy's friendship with Pam and maybe confiding in her or perhaps explaining why William failed to contact Emmy when he always had her contact info), but I felt like everything fell a little flat for me. There were also some aspects of the story that I really didn't like, so in the end, An Impossible Thing Called Love just wasn't the right book for me.
