This was a pretty decent thriller. I enjoyed the overall storyline, but I had quite a bit of a problem with the pacing of the story. It was really slow for me, and I had trouble pushing through it. It was also full of way too many characters to keep track of. It just got way too confusing. Writing was good but just an okay read for me overall.

This was a dark and gritty thriller that captured me from the first page. The characters were likeable and relatable. The book takes us through a deep dark secret from the past, but can this many people keep a secret this long? Now all the players are back in the same town and the old secret is brought to the surface. An old player is playing a new game and the price of failure is people’s lives. This book was heartbreaking at moments and could take you from fear to happy to sad in a single chapter. I highly recommend this book. Detective Ava Cole was a great character! This was a well done book.

However, I did not love 'Remember Me'. I found that there were too many characters of whom to keep track and I did not feel emotionally invested enough in any of the characters' fates. Detective Ava Cole returns from the US to the Welsh village in which she grew up. The village holds secrets from the past, but also from the present. This should have been precisely the kind of plot to draw me in... but alas, the book did not grab me. However, to each their own and I would not let my review put you off reading the novel if it sounds like it may interest you.

Fast paced read filled with shocking discoveries and traumatic memories for the eight involved. I couldn't put it down. The story was very well written and kept me interested until the very end.

Decent plot and characters. Overall, interesting story that does have some twists and turns. At times the writing is clunky and confusing. There is a lot going on and many characters to keep track of. I did figure this one out but enjoyed it none the less.

To start with all I can say is what a brilliant book this was. It kept me hooked and second-guessing all the way through, although I was correct in my original thoughts about what had happened

I really liked the way all the main characters interacted, although it took some concentrating to follow the story with so many people intertwined within the main story line.

Overall I thought it was a great read and can't wait to read more from the author.

The premise was interesting, but overall there were too many characters and it was predictable. I just couldn’t connect emotionally with Ava at all.

A group of former highschool friends reunite years later when one of them is diagnosed terminally ill. The coming together digs up a long kept secret and pretty soon more people end up getting hurt.
Remember Me moves at a pleasant pace with nice enough characters. A heartwrenching story lies at the root of the mystery, but the book misses the thrill to make it an exciting read.

I wanted to like this but the pace was too slow for me and too many characters. It was hard to follow all the different stories and to engage with each character. Sorry not great for me.

Detective Ava Cole had been Ellen's best friend and she's asking the same question that everyone else in the village has been asking for 15 years, what happened to her friend Ellen?

Ava has returned to the village because her ex-husband is dying and also to re-connect with her estranged son whom she has not seen since he was a child.

The pace of the book could have been a lot faster and then it might have been easier to connect with the characters and feel for them.

I really wanted to like this one, but I had a hard time getting into it. It’s well written, and a decent story, but the pacing is really slow. I also wasn’t fond of any of the characters. That said, I can see it appealing to some readers.

On hearing of the imminent death of her ex-husband, Detective Ava Cole takes three weeks’ leave from her job in the Los Angeles Police Department to return to her home town of Aberdyth in Wales hoping that her son Stephen has forgiven her for leaving him when he was a baby. On her arrival in Aberdyth she finds that years later people are still talking about the disappearance of Ava’s best friend, Ellen Smith. Ava is one of the few people who know the truth but cannot tell anyone what really happened.

When I read the description of ‘Remember Me’ it sounded exciting and the sort of novel I’d enjoy and although I liked the character of Ava Cole it isn’t enough to keep me reading. I’ve reached the half-way mark and realised that I don’t really care what happened to Ellen Smith, or what happens to Ava. It’s a pity as the start was promising but it didn’t live up to my expectations.

Told as Ava's story in the third person, there were chapters interspersed in the first-person point of view of the villain. Ava has returned to Wales because her ex-husband Paul is dying, and she wants to reconnect with her son Stephen who was still a toddler when she left him with Paul. Another of their childhood friends, Penny, married Paul and believes that Stephen will need Ava in his life once Paul dies. With Ava's return comes a lot of anxiety over what happened to Ellen back when Ava and her friends were all teenagers.

There were a lot of characters in this story, which made it difficult to see a lot of character development -- even with the key eight, especially since the current day deals with their children and how the events in the past come full circle in the present. As an LAPD detective, Ava finds herself embroiled in a missing persons case in Wales that seems to be tied to Ellen's disappearance in the past.

This story had me guessing until about halfway through when I figured out the villain, but then it had me second-guessing if I was actually correct. The author does a good job of pointing the reader in a specific direction. I think Ava makes some moves that she shouldn't as a detective, but we can pass them off as her being too emotionally invested in the case.

Definitely an interesting read. Just make sure you pay close attention to the characters as you get started.

This one was just OK for me. Not very memorable and didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat. I found it difficult to keep track of what was going on.

After reading the first five chapters of this book, I unfortunately am too confused to care to continue. I really wanted to like this book, the summary sounded promising, so I am going to put in down and maybe one day come back to it with fresh eyes. For me, the characters were too muddled and did not stand out which made it harder to figure out which character I reading about.

I loved this. It's about a detective named Ava who returns to her home town to see her dying ex. But they've been hiding a dark secret and someone knows. I liked Ava's character and the story is well written, full.of twists and surprises. Recommend to anyone who likes pyschological thrillers.

Completely adequate. You know what’s going to happen and you let the book take you there. You enjoy the ride, walk away when it’s done and never think about it again.

The old adage that you can't go home again couldn't be more true when it comes to this story and for Ava Cole. Don't try to figure out what is going on because it won't happen. I found it so difficult to keep track of who was who and what they were doing. It was a borderline frustrating.
There are so many things going on and you really need to pay attention.

Good book, really enjoyed it. Will recommend this book to others. And will read it more than one 5******
