This is Kendra’s debut novel, I am always on the look out for new authors and I am so glad I requested a copy of ‘The Chance of a Lifetime’ on Netgalley. At first I was having to read this in small chunks as life got in the way, therefore it took me a while to get lost in the story but I am so pleased I kept on reading. I absolutely love the cover of the book, it gets you drawn into the story before you start reading it. At first the narrative was a bit hard to follow however I soon got used to it! It made the story more interesting.

My favourite character is Katie, you end up feeling so involved in her life (literally every aspect of her life!) You hope she will at least stand up for herself. Throughout the story she battles her own thoughts and you can tell she is really struggling in parts. I definitely related to some of her feelings on a personal level.

I was definitely amused at some parts and quite sad at other parts. I won’t go into specific parts of the story as I don’t want to spoil it! 🙂 It was great to see the story unfold whilst it was told from more than one perspective. There are so many twists and turns in the story (some
I definitely was not expecting!) but this left you engrossed, entertained and I just didn’t know what was going to happen next.

Overall I really enjoyed ‘The Chance of a Lifetime’ and I will definitely be reading all of Kendra’s future novels. I give this book a rating of 4*/5*

Lastly thank you to Kendra and Aria Fiction for the advanced copy via Netgalley 😁

This book was well written it was just a shame I wasn't a fan of any of the characters. I found it frustrating that the story relies on the usual trope of a cheating husband - one of my least favourite tropes. And while it's good to show a strong woman she isn't the nicest woman anyway so it makes you not care as much about the rest of her story.

A beautifully written novel, showing the courage and strong character of Katie. With so much thrown at her, in a completely different setting to what she is used too. It shows the strength of Katie, be it through so many twists and turns and a fear of every animal in Australia.
A great read, with some light hearted moments thrown in.
Perfect rainy day Sunday reading!

I really enjoyed this story!

It is a well written story showing the ups and downs of family life.

The book has strong characters which I could easily relate to, due to the very good detail added to the story by the author. It flows very well and was easy to follow.

Four stars from me, definitely one I will be recommending!
