I was given this book from NetGalley for an honest review - Chloe wakes up with no memory of her accident or who she is - What happened to her? Why won't anyone tell her? why does it seem like lies or different stories each time she asks?
Even when I thought I had figured out this book I was wrong.
Grab this book for a thrilling read. This was a very exciting book!

Every facet of Chole Daniels life is a complete mystery to her, she can't even remember her own name, let alone the people standing in front of her claiming to be her family. The doctors tell her she has amnesia, so it may take some time to remember all the details of her life, but with time and healing it all may return to her... or not. In the meantime they are sending her home with the strangers that are claiming to be her family, hoping the return home will be just enough familiarity to spawn some missing memories. But the minute she walks into their home, a foreign feeling settles over her, one that has her feeling as though someone is lying to her... and she may not be as safe with these people as they claim. She just needs one little memory to hit and point her in the right direction...

Between the Lies will have you scooting to the edge of your seat and taking notice, this thrilling little tale is riddled with unsettling secrets and lies. And as they pile up, the more confusing things will become for not only the heroine, but also the reader, this one is certain to twist the thoughts and have you second guessing things at every turn. I must say this newest offering from Ms. Adams made for an impressive introduction, the dramatically thrilling story line kept me flying through the pages and teetering nervously on the edge of my seat throughout. If you enjoy thrillers I highly recommend you check this one out, it promises to rattle you to your core!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Although the mystery was very good and kept me guessing to the end, I felt it was a little drawn out and I felt like I wanted to give a push to get moving. Why didn't the loss of her son effect her more than just a mention now and then. She seemed to find her soulmate a few times. The ending seemed a little rushed.

As far as thrillers go, this is definitely a fisted one. It is predictable, so that kind of takes some of the mystery out, however the writing is very gripping and sucks you in, so the thrill is still there. It was a fast paced and quick read. I did find some lulls and boring fluff in the plot, but all-in-all it was an enjoyable afternoon read.

This book keeps you engaged and engulfs you. If you take a break from reading it your mind keeps going back to the characters. A book with an unreliable narrator is usually entertaining because it keeps you guessing, this book is full of such narrators. Lies, secrets and deception are central to this book. Not all twists are unpredictable but the book still keeps you on your toes! A must read that is highly recommended

In a quick summary, Chloe has been in an accident and wakes up with amnesia. She doesn't even remember her family. It was a slow read but as the story progresses, the reader is right there with Chloe as events are revealed, some reveals that made me gasp alongside her. I kind of figured out the ending but that didn't dampen my overall enjoyment of this book.

Thank you to #NetGalley for this ARC of Between The Lies

Between the Lies is one of those novels that you cannot put down. Michelle Adams captures the reader from the very first page and keeps pace throughout the entire story. Her characters are enigmatic and deeply developed, brooding with dark, suspect undertones. The plot is tightly woven and while some of the suspense aspects are easier to guess for avid readers of this genre, it does not take away from the overall allure of the novel. Highly recommended. 5 stars

Chloe is recovering at her parents home after a near fatal car accident in which she has completely lost her memory. Her mother, father and sister are complete strangers to her. She is frustrated by her lack of memory but over time little snippets do return and they contradict what her family is telling her. Why are they lying to her? What are they hiding? I think Michelle Adams has written a really good family drama and a good psychological thriller. As I got further into the book, I really couldn’t put it down. The plot was good and the story was well written. Recommended.

Michelle Adams is a new author for me....Thank you netgalley for the introduction!!
This book started out very slow for me.... I persevered, and I’m glad I did.
I went back and forth many times trying to figure out who the bad guy was....I was surprised! My only issue with this book was that I felt no real connection to any of the characters. I enjoyed the book .... I found it to be suspenseful.....I just didn’t really connect with any of the main characters, and for me that’s a big part of what I enjoy about reading!

Great writing. Sucks you right in from the beginning. Really liked the story and the main character. Felt the ending was a bit short and could have dragged out a bit more.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

Chloe wakes to find she has been in an accident, and she has lost her memory due to her head injury. Her parents are being very overprotective of her, and her psychiatrist father is trying to help her regain her memory through therapy sessions. I find it odd that a father would be willing to have his daughter as a patient, but I guess that worked with the story. As Chloe starts to remember bits and pieces, she gets some answers but more and more questions.

I enjoyed this book, but it wasn't one that I was desperate to finish and see how it ended. I picked it up and put it down as I had time. I did find the never-ending mentions of her wound dressing on her head to be annoying. I was able to figure out the whodunit part probably about 60% into the book.

Between the Lies, by Michelle Adams is a nail biter! What happened that rainy night in the woods? Who was driving the car that forced Chloe off the road killing her young son? Why is her family keeping secrets from her?

The story is told with Chloe as the narrative in the first person. I always enjoy stories that are told from the first person perspective because I feel I am able to connect with the characters more. Chloe's story is very intriguing from the start and we are drawn to her amnesia and the need to know what happened the night of her accident. I love books on memory loss and find it extremely fascinating so  I enjoyed accompanying Chloe on her journey to retrieve her memories.

The story was an extremely slow burner and not as 'page turning' as I like thrillers to be. I would have put this in a domestic suspense genre more than a thriller. Despite the fact it wasn't fast paced it was still an interesting story. But for me, the ending was predictable and the book did start to drag out a little towards the end, with not a lot of action happening.

I would give this book three stars an recommend it to anyone that loves to read a great storyline on domestic suspense/complications that can arise in families.

I would like to thank NetGalley, St Martin's Griffin and Michelle Adams for the advanced copy in return for my honest review :)

My gratitude goes out to Netgalley and St. Martins Griffin for giving me something to immerse myself in and ignore the holiday anxiety for a while. Chloe Daniels has a bad case of amnesia when she wakes up in a hospital bed. She can’t remember her name, how she got the injuries to her head, leg and other body parts and worst of all – the people who are taking her home say they are family, but she’s not the least bit comfortable with them.

She was told she’d been in a car crash, which makes sense to her, at least in the beginning. Her family members keep getting caught in their lies (there it is again, a title with “lies” in it is trendy). Chloe gets tired of them not telling the truth and sets out on her own to find out what really happened and why.

I wish all books kept me as engaged as this one did. Plus I didn’t figure out who the culprit was until the very end. So many of the book’s characters were in the running, it was hard to pin it on just one.

I highly recommend “Between the Lies” to all my thriller-reader friends.

Between The Lies is a psychological thriller about amnesia and how memories can be manipulated.

Chloe was in a car crash and almost died. She woke up in hospital and can't remember anything. Her parents and sister take her home, but right from the start her gut feeling tells her all is not like it seems.

But Chloe has a strong personality and she fights to get back her memory, but soon realises that remembering what happened could devastate her.

This is my first book of Michelle Adams and I will definitely read her other book as well. Although I figured out some of the plot, she kept me guessing about what really happened up to the last pages. I read the book in two days, because I could not put it down.

Thanks to #Netgalley and the publishers for letting me read this.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC for my honest review.
A good read that has plenty of twists, lots of lies and no one you can trust.
I recommend it if that is what you enjoy!

I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review

Just didn't like this one. The twist was obvious and unsatisfactory. Didn't like any of the characters or get any of their motivations. A slog to get through- just blegh

4.5 Stars!!!

Wowzer!! I enjoy a good thriller and Michelle Adam’s did a fantastic with Between the Lies!

When Chloe Daniels wakes up, she finds herself in hospital with some serious injuries as well as complete amnesia! Trying to piece together the who, what, where, why, and how proves to be complicated! She’s very fortunate to have her family by her side to nurse her back to health...right!?!?

I was totally captivated by this fast-paced novel! The storyline was well thought out and I loved the fact that the twists and turns were liberally spread throughout the novel! I haven’t read any novels from Michelle Adams prior to Between the Lies, but I am definitely looking forward to reading more from her in the future!

Though the ending of this novel is interesting and provides some good action, it’s a really slow burn overall and I found it quite hard to get into. I didn’t find the characters or the story very compelling and I had trouble with the willful suspension of disbelief needed to accept that anyone was okay with Chloe’s father serving as her on,y therapist.

Fans of Gone Girl, Sometimes I Lie, and Before I Go yo Sleep will be mesmerized by this one. Ms. Adams masters pacing, characterizations, and of course unexpected twists to keep the pages flying!
