I usually like Joy Fielding books, but this one was bit different. I was intrigued by the premise but I found all of the characters to be unlikeable so it was difficult to root for them. Not my fave by Ms. Fielding but will of course continue to look for her future books. Thank you to netgalley and publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book was interesting and a good read, but it failed to keep me on the edge of my seat. The concept of on line dating is very topical and I have several friends who have tried it. I have always felt there is a certain amount of risk involved. The character in the beginning of the book was right when she asked for picture I d, before leaving the bar. I found the ending to be satisfying, although there were still some loose ends.

I’ve been a Fielding fan for many years, that’s why I rounded it up to 3 stars, even though I feel 2.5 stars is adequate. This was not one of my favorites. Usually she can keep you on the edge of your seat as far as thrillers go but this didn’t do that for me. I’m not sure I would even classify it as a thriller, or as a psychological thriller either. I didn’t find anything electrifying about it. It is more about the relationships between four women and why they turn to online dating sites. For pretty much the same reason most people do... boredom, needing something new, unfaithful mates, etc., There is a lateral story going on about a predator picking his prey from women on these sites but it is pretty sketchy. Not enough development about the guy except that he’s handsome, manipulative and likes to torture women after feeding them steak and then killing them.

At one point towards the end something happens to one of the ladies, a mother of two young children and there weren’t any details about how or why it occurred, only that she was fortunate to escape with her life, and not at the hands of the predator either. As a reader, I wanted details. What bothered me even more was how this novel ended. It just stops, and we are left to imagine what happens next.

It wasn’t the type of novel you can’t wait to get back to and I was glad to move on to something else. Still I want to thank NetGalley and Ballantine Press for the ARC so I could post an honest and unbiased review.

While All the Wrong Places by Joy Fielding is a thriller read it’s also another book that gave me a serious craving for a bowel of popcorn with each turn of the page. The story offers up a lot of drama to go along with it’s more suspenseful side. With multiple points of view which even includes one from our serial killer you can’t help but become immersed in the drama.

Paige had been in a relationship that she thought would last forever, that is until walking in on her boyfriend with her cousin, Heather. Paige and Heather may only be cousins but the two could also pass for twins and from the moment they were born the competition started between them.

While Heather now has Matt, Paige ends up taking up online dating to try to meet someone before she has to attend her uncle’s birthday party alone. As Paige begins to date again her best friend Chloe finds her husband has been on the dating sites too as she feels their marriage slipping away.

All the Wrong Places had a bit of everything going for it with even some funny moments along the way which made it a rather compelling read. While following along with all of the family and relationship drama you get sneak peeks into the killer’s mind and his plans to set the tension of just when he’ll strike. I honestly didn’t want to put this one down as I waited to find out what would happen next.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Ballantine Books, and Joy Fielding for the opportunity to read her latest thriller. I have been a huge fan of Fielding's for decades and have read and enjoyed all her books - this one was no exception. Just a fun, easy read with interesting characters - and maybe a warning for all those online daters out there!

Paige has it all - she's beautiful, has a job she loves and a gorgeous live-in boyfriend. Until it all falls apart - her company is bought out and she loses her job, her boyfriend cheats on her with her cousin, Heather, who always wants what Paige has. Paige moves back home with her mom, who is lonely after her husband and Paige's dad died two years ago. Paige's best friend, Chloe, gets a call that her husband and father of their 2 kids, is on multiple dating websites. So 4 women intersect with online dating looking for Mr. Right - or in this book, enter Mr. Right Now.

Told from multiple points of view from all the characters including Mr. Right Now, this is just a great read (if you put aside that horrid serial killer aspect!). Beware out there!

Joy Fielding’s latest examines the intertwined lives of four Bostonian women who, through the world of online dating, unwittingly become involved with a psychotic serial killer.

I’m a huge Fielding fan, but this was just ok for me. The writing is good but the big question propelling the plot forward was not interesting or exciting enough for me, causing me not especially to care about the outcome. At times, this was much more of a character study on the four women than a thriller. I would have loved there to be more complexity to the plot with a few twists thrown in that are prevalent in Fielding’s other works. With that said, I did enjoy the ending. 3 stars.

Many thanks to Netgalley, Ballantine Books and Joy Fielding for my complimentary e-copy ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is the second book I’ve read from Joy Fielding. While I’ve heard nothing but fabulous reviews for her books, the first one I read The Bad Daughter left me feeling as though I had missed something.
So I was determined to give her another try, and so glad I did! I get it now! I can see why she’s been a huge influence of the domestic-suspense genre for so long.

Married or single, the relationship between 4 women are put to the test as they attempt to discover or rekindle love.

Paige isn’t having much luck lately. Following a recent breakup with her boyfriend Noah, she’s also been dropped from her job, leaving her with no choice but to move back in with her widowed mother Joan.
And after her latest heart-break, she’s in no hurry to get back into the dating scene.
After all, it was because of her cousin Heather that she was forced to leave Noah...fast.

With no other viable options, Paige eventually turns to the world of online dating to hoping to find Love again. Hmmm.... here’s a profile worth looking at from Mr. Right Now! Could he be the one?

Now suddenly, Paige’s mother seems more interested in getting a date that Paige does.

Chloe married her high-school sweetheart. Two children later she desperately clings to a marriage crumbling around her. Can she still save her marriage? Does she even want to?

Joy Fielding writes a suspenseful and chilling book that may scare you off online dating forever! Just one more reason that I am so happy to be married!

A super-fast read that both Susanne and I enjoyed!

Four women look for love in All the Wrong Places and one ends up trapped by a serial killer.

Paige is having a bad few months. First, she loses her high-profile advertising job. Then she catches her cousin Heather, who has always copied her life choices, in bed with her boyfriend. To save money, Paige moves in with her seventy-year-old widowed mother, Joan. Paige’s best friend, Chloe, gets an anonymous tip and discovers her husband has recently set up profiles on several online dating sites.

All four woman decide to join Match Sticks to find new men. One is shown trapped by a serial killer in his apartment as the book opens. But which one?

All the Wrong Places balances a serial killer thriller plot with an excellent chick lit tale. It even has a bit of comic relief with hapless Heather. The mixture somehow works well making this a 4 star read!

Four modern women looking for Mr Right....on an app.

Paige, her best friend Chloe, her mother Joan and her terrible cousin Heather all start on-line dating and begin their quest for Mr. Right. Unfortunately, one of the "Mr. Right's" is a serial killer.

Multiple points of view - hilarious tales of online dating and the horror that surrounds it. This is a fun read, with a wicked twist.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I had the good fortune of being able to read this book as an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely love all of Joy Fielding’s books, and was extremely excited to read this one. While I was not disappointed, I would’ve liked a little more “closure“ and/or story at the end of the book. I feel that it ended without enough time spent on the story that was brewing throughout the whole book.
Irregardless, still a great read.

Online dating, a cheating husband, a jealous cousin, and a serial killer make this a pretty entertaining read. This novel is fast paced, and filled with more than a few unlikable characters. Unfortunately, it was not a thriller and overall it was quite predictable. The ending felt a bit rushed, but all in all I still enjoyed it.

When "Mr. Right Now" turns out to be Mr. Wrong...on oh-so many levels.

Okay, I'm not going to lie, I had a feeling how All the Wrong Places would end...and I was correct. But you know what? I didn't even care that it was fairly obvious because the conclusion was so diabolical and deliciously satisfying, I felt like cheering.

This story was such a pleasant surprise! I didn't know what to expect going in, as this is my first Joy Fielding novel, but the serial killer on on-line dating sites has always been an intriguing concept to me...and a genuinely frightening one.

Told from 5 points of view, those of Paige, Joan, Chloe, Heather, and "Mr. Right Now," the killer...this is a quick, gripping read. I could hardly put it down. While I do agree with other reviewers that this isn't really a psychological suspense...I'd classify it as domestic fiction with a suspenseful secondary plot...it's still devilishly good.

I have officially added more of Joy Fielding's books to my Amazon wish list!

Recommended to one and all! 4.5 diabolical stars!

**Many thanks to NetGalley, Ballantine Books, and Joy Fielding for providing me with an advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review. Much appreciated!

Thank You so much NetGalley and Ballantine Books!

This was one of those books that made me thankful that my online dating experiences were ok.

Anyway, in a world where you can be whoever you want to be ONLINE, this story takes you into the scary side of online dating. In fact, it also shows you excatly how easy it is for someone to stalk you online.

I wouldn't call this a thriller. We know who the serial killer is. We know who is target is, what made this book so good (and different from Fielding's other books) is that this book was downright creepy.
Def a good read !

2.5/3 stars
Slightly disappointing. I prefer thrillers that are dark, disturbing, and twisted; unfortunately, this did not deliver for me.

We all know that online dating is risky. Will your date be Mr. Right, a waste of an evening, or the decision that ends your life? Four women navigate the ups and down of online dating. Who will encounter the killer? And who will find what they're looking for?

I thought that this was a really fun, fast read and really enjoyed the multiple perspectives. I had trouble putting it down. This book was incredibly entertaining. However, I do wonder what Joy Fielding expects us to feel with that last chapter...

Soooooo this is marketed as a thriller, but I really never felt thrilled?? To me it was much more about the relationships between four women and why they turn to online dating sites. There wasn't much development about the man preying on these women, except that he was good looking and likes to torture women after feeding them steak.

The ending really bugged me. I felt like this book just kind of stopped and the reader was just left to guess what happened next instead of the author actually writing a good ending. I'm just glad to be moving onto another book at this point.

I became a fan of Joy Fielding years ago, and was a little surprised and thrown off with this novel. The writing style is unlike her other novels and is less dark and gripping. The storyline is great, it’s modern and focuses on online dating, which we all know has its dangers. Throw in a handful of strong characters with different personalities, and a creative author who has a knack with writing suspenseful thrillers, and you have a book that is begging to be read. I foresee a future movie to be made...

This one looked like it would be a 2019 version of Looking for Mr Goodbar but it turned out to be a surprisingly engaging portrait of four women who use on-line matchmaking for four different reasons. The fact that there is a bad guy out there that one of then will swipe on is indeed the reason for the book- and it makes for a page turning read- but I was more taken with Paige, Heather, Chloe, and Joan than I expected to be. You get everyone's point of view, which still didn't make Heather (a rat) particularly sympathetic for me, but it upped the tension. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is a good read.

This book starts out with the description of a beautiful young woman who is having dinner with a man she met on a dating app. However, something seems off about her date with "Mr. Right Now". It's clear there is more to this date than meets the eye and the man plans on bringing more women back to his apartment for dinner.

I have read some of Joy Fielding's earlier books and was expecting a chilling thriller. Instead this book had some creepy elements but wasn't really a mystery or a thriller. The main story is about Paige Hamilton who goes on a dating app when her boyfriend Noah cheats on her with her look alike cousin. Her widowed mom is considering dating again and her best friend is trying to get the strength to leave her cheating, abusive husband. There were some genuinely funny moments and some that I assume were supposed to be that I didn't find humorous. I enjoyed the scene when Paige's cousin Heather visits Noah at work after learning something about his behavior at a party. However, Heather and most of the other characters are generally unlikable and I couldn't relate to any of them.

There are some awkward conversations and situations between the women as Paige tries to get over her father's death and her boyfriend's betrayal. I thought it would be more a mystery about the serial killer on the dating app. This did play an important part of the book, but it got lost in all of the subplots. The commonality among all of the subplots is that many of the characters are truly looking for love in "all the wrong places." The book was a quick read and some of it was entertaining, but the book was a strange mix of seriousness, irreverent humor, funny scenes and creepy scenes. It just wasn't what I expected from this author.
