How can you not fall in love with anything Emily Carpenter writes?
This story had me mesmerized from the very first page and I stayed up way too late needing to finish it!
Carpenter has a way of stealing your soul with her words, of weaving tales that will forever haunt you - and this book is no different!

I loved this book! Thank you for the ARC. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that I wasn’t leaving reviews on netgalley and was solely sharing on Instagram. My apologies. Huge fan of this author! I actually received the tangible copy. Trying to clean up my netgally account.

I was immediately hooked into the book from the start and this title! I found both Erin and Shorie's point of views to add dimension to the story as they navigated their grief and their tenuous relationship. The suspense of the story's events kept me turning the pages and needing to find out what was going to happen! Emily Carpenter has a new fan and I will be checking out other books written.

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

I really love Emily Carpenter's books Burying the Honeysuckle Girls and Reviving the Hawthorn Sisters. It is not in the same league as those books, however. This crime novel was well-written by Carpenter, but the story did not captivate me as much as I had hoped. It's still a good book, well worth reading.

I love Emily Carpenter, so I am sad to say that I did not love this book as much as I anticipated. This one was not bad, but it also wasn't great. It did not seem authentic. I struggled with some of the characters. Again, I wanted to love this one, but I just didn't. I am sorry.

I really liked this author and this book did not disappoint, it was an appropriately paced, page-turner that will have me hooked throughout the story.

This fast-paced, suspenseful read kept me on the edge of my seat! Loved the mother-daughter duo and dynamics, and the tech storyline. Emily Carpenter slays another one!

While the settings of the novel sounds interesting, the execution is seriously prolonged and the logic of several subplots is lacking. Why go to the lengths the perpetrators did instead of much less complicated murder or even putting the heroine to the position of mental derangement?

I really loved this book in a new to me author. The characters and location really and to the story. I can't wait to read the next one. This book keeps you guessing until the end.

The task of repopulating the senior library has been an exciting and daunting task aS in a boarding school our aim is to encourage all members of the community to read. Because of this, I have been searching down a wide and diverse range of books to read that will entice a wide cross-section of the school to come in, browse and find books that they love.
Books like this will ensure that the senior students in the school see the library as a diverse, modern and exciting place with books that speak to them and they want to recommend to their friends, classmates, teachers and tutors.
It is an engrossing and exciting read with fully-formed characters and a plot that ensures that it's hard to look away. It is as far from formulaic as it is possible to be and kept me up far too late in order to finish it. I immediately wanted to read all of this writer's other books as I loved their voice and found that it really drew me into the story and made me think about it even when I'd stepped away from this tale.
This is a thought-provoking read which I'm sure will be a popular and well-read addition to our new library; I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to read it and I know that the students are going to absolutely love it too!

Emily Carpenter does it again! Nailed me to my seat and didn’t let me go to til the end! What the heck! The second half of the book had me wanting to take my blood pressure because I didn’t know if I was going to survive til the end! She took this book to the next level! Just when I thought her last book kept me on the edge of my seat she shows me she can do it again and again! This book is amazing and has you guessing who could be the bad guy then when you think you have it all figured out BAM not the case.

I loved the cover for this book and it is what really drew me in. The story overall is good; I was very interested because of what was written about the book but to be honest, this was not really my cup of tea. It was nicely put together and the plot was there, but I felt like it could have been better written at parts. However, this was a fantastic idea and I am glad to have read it.

This was a slog. The tone tried too hard to be hip when writing from a teen perspective. Took too long to get off the ground.

A plot that all feels slightly strange. It is almost on a Sci fi feel to it because the story lines is less believable.

That said, it is nicely written and an enjoyable book that keeps you gripped through out and is memorable

Please tell me that wasn’t the end! I want more. I want justice because I don’t feel like that happened at all in the end. Overall very enthralling plot line and id love to read more from this author.

Special thanks to Lake Union for providing our copy in exchange for an honest & fair review.

I've loved previous dark & simmering novels by Emily Carpenter. For some reason, this one wasn't my favorite. I think it's due in large part that I am likely burning myself out on thrillers. Especially those in which a woman cannot trust herself. I'll definitely read more from Emily in the future.

Thank you for the opportunity to be an early reader.

Description
From the bestselling author of Burying the Honeysuckle Girls comes a riveting novel about a mother and daughter separated by grief, secrets, and a conspiracy that threatens to destroy their lives. If there’s a healthy way to grieve, Erin Gaines hasn’t found it. After her husband’s sudden death, the runaway success of the tech company they built with their best friends has become overwhelming. Her nerves are frayed, she’s disengaged, and her frustrated daughter, Shorie, is pulling away from her. Maybe Erin’s friends and family are right. Maybe a few weeks at a spa resort in the Caribbean islands is just what she needs to hit the reset button… Shorie is not only worried about her mother’s mental state but also for the future of her parents’ company. Especially when she begins to suspect that not all of Erin’s colleagues can be trusted. It seems someone is spinning an intricate web of deception—the foundation for a conspiracy that is putting everything, and everyone she loves, at risk. And she may be the only one who can stop it. Now, thousands of miles away in a remote, and oftentimes menacing, tropical jungle, Erin is beginning to have similar fears. Things at the resort aren’t exactly how the brochure described, and unless she’s losing her mind, Erin’s pretty sure she wasn’t sent there to recover—she was sent to disappear.

My Review
Until the Day I die is a well-crafted story that is both intriguing and one that will keep you interested until the very end. I enjoyed the characters and even disliked some of them. Overall the story was one I would recommend.
