#single: DATING IN THE 21st CENTURY
Written by Lost the Plot
2018; Pantera Press/Lost the Plot (17o pages)
Genre: nonfiction, dating

(Review Not on Blog)

RATING: 1 STAR

This book is based on a blog called Tinder Tuesday, but I did not know that until I got to the last page of the eArc (advanced reader copy). While this book has 170 pages it is full of short texts/messages. It took me 10 minutes to read. There were one or two funny texts but most were just meh. Maybe I have just seen worse on Tinder, but I don't think this book adds to anything on dating you can't just get from Tinder Nightmares on Instagram.

***I received an eARC from NETGALLEY***

As a thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced reader copy I shall give an honest review of this collection. The following is #single based on the popular blog TinderTuesday.com. It features real-life dating conversations and follows a familiar path in what its reader may experience when internet dating. The collection is presented for those who are currently online dating, have online dated, will online date in the future, and for those who simply enjoy humor. It shows the ridiculous aspects to online dating and how awkward situations may lead to laughter beyond measure. Take away notes would be to remember you are still talking to someone beyond the screen in front of you and to be kind. As well as to have fun. There should be no stigma meeting someone online and developing a relationship from it. Remember you swiped right whether that was because of the way they appeared, or their profile summary is simply another option to dating. Overall, I enjoyed this collection and recommend it to those who need a reminder of the fun and light side to online dating as well as the humor in it. Remember there is always that block button for you to use if the conversation becomes stagnant and you just are not feeling it. Good luck out there to all my single peeps. There is someone out there for like Michael Bublé once sang you just haven't met them yet. I give this collection 3 out of 5 stars.

This book is just a load of text/tinder conversations chucked together. There is no introduction or any other dialogue. A lot of the messages aren't even that funny. Definitely not worth a buy

This book was interesting. Although it’s nit really a book. It’s more like a collection of text messages that showcase the dating struggle for a single woman. Very meh.

#Single is a very quick read. There is no introduction to the ‘book’ it just starts with ‘conversations’ and you as the reader have to figure out what is going on. According to the Amazon book description this book is based off the website TinderTuesday.com and as I was researching for my review I found this: the site is not even active anymore- in fact you can purchase the domain name if you wanted! I also saw there was a Facebook and Twitter page and neither one have been updated in over a year. Why was this copy and paste conversations put together as a ‘book’ I have no idea.

Now that is out of the way…. #single gives you an idea of what dating now is like. And I can say these conversations are…entertaining to read. I feel for the people that are the recipients of these messages. If you have online dated in the past you will get some entertainment from this book.

This is like a coffee table book of entertainment if you wanted to buy it, but I would not recommend. This is one you may want to read while you are in a waiting room for a doctor’s appointment or waiting for a movie to start. There is nothing really to gain from this ‘book’.

#single is not recommended.

Thank you to Pantera Press and Lost the Plot for granting me a review copy via NetGalley. I wish I could have given a positive review.

This book is exclusively transcribed conversations from a dating app with no overall narrative. I was disappointed, it could have been really entertaining.

Maybe it wasa the format on Kindle, but I found this hard to understand as to who was writing what. Obviously it is transcribed as a text conversation, but it felt too impersonal and flat, as well as difficult to distinguish if it was the author or the recipient who was 'speaking'/writing. On a more positive note, all the replies I think was from the author of this book was really snappy and funny, and it was hilarious to see how the recipient reacted to the replies in text.

A good example of the awkward and uncomfortable experiences that come with online dating! Glad to be done with that part of my life.

This book would be perfect gift for all your friends fluent in the world of dating apps. It was short, but light, funny, and witty book, which you can open on any page and have a laugh or think "Oh, I've been there" or "Thank god I don't have to do this anymore".

This is a cute, quick read. It's as if a friend sent screengrabs of terrible Tinder interactions on repeat.

Hilarious! Some people....
I dated online once and it turned into a long relationship. Tinder and Badoo didn't exist yet. I'm seriously thinking of giving it a shot, just to talk to crazies!

A short read made up of text/message conversations from dating websites. It is a funny representation of what most single people have to deal with when traversing the "Internet Dating World". The book is extremely short - it can be finished in about 30 minutes. The layout is hard to read when converted into ebook format but I imagine if it were printed and much longer it would serve as a funny coffee table book.

Was definitely disappointed in this book.

The writing style was horrible and so disjointed. While I know that this type of book is not necessarily linear, the entries were boring and I just could not get into it - and I normally love this type of book.

This is a series of messages that featured on the Tinder Tuesday blog, and reminded me why I don't want to go online dating through Tinder!

There were some very funny moments that had me laughing out loud, although there were others that were just cringe inducing. This is not a book. Or, if this is a book, then we humans have set our bar really, really low. It is small in size and easy to read and it took me less than 40 minutes.

Don't get me wrong, it was hilarious and so bizarre at times! But worth purchasing? Definitely not! There are Instagram blogs dedicated to this same theme, and they're free. They also include the author's personal comments, a backstory, and just more of a plot in general. Lost the Plot is a good way to describe it...it sure lost me.

Hilarious, quick read. Finished it over lunch.
Though I’ve been married since before dating apps became popular I still love reading these types of conversations on blogs, such as tinder Tuesday, where these were collected from.

I received a copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for my review.*

My feedback will be short for this title.
It has potential, it’s funny but very very confusing and clouded.

This book was just kind of ridiculous. Definitely not a novel or a book to be taken seriously. It would make a good quick airport read, but not something I’d be talking about or recommending after reading it.

Um, I didn't realize what this is. This is not a book. Or, if this is a book, then we humans have set our bar really, really low. You can compare this to a picture book without pictures, with tinder exchanges instead.

To be fair, this tinder collection didn't lie or misrepresent itself. It is exactly what it says - no plot.

This was a fun quick read! I would definitely say grab it if you need a good laugh. I especially enjoy funny text conversations and cheesy/awkward pick up lines so this was spot on for me.

I’d recommend it if you’re looking for an easy laugh, have a few extra minutes to kill or a member of a dating service. Enjoy your laugh!
