Even though this is the first book I've read in this series, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course, starting at the beginning of the series would be best I still had a wonderful time with Sarah and company. As an antiquarian bookseller, I soon found myself engrossed in this mystery. Definitely would recommend this book. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

The sixth book of the Garage Sale mysteries is one of the best in the series. I started in the evening and found myself reading into the night to finished.
Sarah Winston is hired by Belle Winthrop Granville to sort through an overabundance of books and price them. Belle is planning on selling the books and will donate the money earned to the library. Sarah begins to sort the books and find a leather bag that contains handwritten Hemingway manuscripts. It had disappeared on a train She takes the bag to show Belle and returns to sorting books. Before long Sarah hears a commotion downstairs. Checking it out she finds Belle had been attacked and the bag of manuscripts gone. Sarah is into a rush attempting to recover the case of manuscripts. She stalks by reporters, the League of Literary Treasure Hunters, and a rare book dealer, stranger who is not afraid to use a gun While hiding from all these persons she is working on a fundraiser to bring a soldier's dog home from Afghanistan. The ending will surprise you.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND SERIES.

With characters who are variously readers, collectors, and sellers of mystery fiction, not to mention its punny title, this book sounded like just the right kind of diversion. A stash of Hemingway documents is discovered and then stolen. Cue the mayhem as a body is found and a large group of tweed-wearing literary treasure hunters invades the town. The cozy plot is interspersed with snippets of information about flea markets and also a number of incidental observations about the sense of community on a military base. There were moments when I would have preferred for the author to let the action speak for itself instead of having the protagonist explain too much. Of course, we know all the loose ends will be neatly wrapped up by the end, so we can relax and enjoy the ride.

Rare books, priceless manuscripts, wealthy patrons, mayhem & murder, and some old school southern charm, what's not to love in this latest cozy with Sarah Winston. She's the ultimate cozy heroine; smart, witty, educated, gutsy, a definite wearer of the white hat society. This is a wonderful stand alone read, but you dining yourself a disservice, if you don't begin with the first in series and savor them all. Solid 5+++****. Thanks NetGalley & publisher for an early read, can't wait for the next book.

Sarah Winston is called to Miss Belle’s huge home to get her extensive collection of mystery books ready for sale. Starting in the attic, Sarah discovers a suitcase filled with manuscripts that appear to be long lost stories written by Ernest Hemingway. Leaving a surprised Miss Belle with the manuscripts Sarah heads back to work only to hear a noise from her employer and discovers Miss Belle on the floor and the suitcase missing. She pursues the Kay,the maid, across the woods and finds her dead with the suitcase once again missing. There is also an extremely rare copy of a Hemingway book that is hidden in the house, and everyone is dying to get their hands on it. And there are too many suspects.
One of the best plots in the Sarah Winston garage sale mysteries.

An absolutely amazing adventure. I have been a big fan of Sherry Harris' Sarah Winston series, but this volume is far and away the best. When Sarah Winston asked to inventory Belle's large book collection and conduct a sale to benefit the local library she has no idea that it will lead to murder, mayhem and mystery including the famous lost Hemingway stories, limited first editions, literary treasure hunters to name only some of what falls her way. With her usual cast of friends she manages to get to the bottom of the situation and put things to right. This is a true one sit page turner and I loved it from beginning to end. Bravo to Sherry Harris!
