Throwing caution to the winds 40 something single mother Tess Howland indulges in a one night stand with millionaire playboy Miles Prescott and finds more than she bargained for. One Night Stand with a Millionaire is fun and sexy contemporary romance. This is the first book I've read by Shannyn Schroeder but it certainly won't be the last.

I enjoyed the book. Tess and Miles were super relatable, but that’s where my rub was - it was true relatable. I read romance to escape the day to day life of a working mom, not read about a mom trying to deal with all that. While others may really enjoy seeing they aren’t the only ones to me it was just too real.

I found Tess’ control issues tiring. I found those scenes very repitious. We get she has issues -deal with it and move on, but it see,ed to churn over and over.

It wasn’t the worst or best book I’ve read in awhile - I think it just wasn’t for me.

Received an ARC for an honest review.

Tess has three kids and has been divorced for five years. Miles has never been married or even in a serious relationship. Neither thought they were interested in being in a relationship. However, after a night of great sex, Miles found that he wanted to,get to know Tess better. Despite, her initial resistance to the idea, Tess realizes that she really likes Miles and agrees to spend time together. Things become complicated and don’t go as smoothly as they could due to the after effects of Tess’s relationship with her ex-husband. However, with a little help from her kids, they finally get it together.

Tess is a single mom of three kids. She has been divorced for a few years, yet never really dates. The only time she lets loose is once a year at the Saint Marks Gala. She works the crowd for funds for her department and then finds her one night of fun.
Miles is a bored playboy. He hates going to these fundraisers, especially since his father died a year ago. But tonight he must be strong and be there for his mother. Especially for this fundraiser. This was his father’s favorite fundraiser. So he will endure it and smile for his mother.

As Miles observes the room, he stops dead when his eyes land on a beautiful woman. As the night progresses Miles night improves. But all that changes when he wakes up alone in bed the next morning. No No that will not do.

When Miles tracks her down and offers to take her on a date, she says no. But no is not in Miles vocabulary. What was suppose to be one night turns into something that Tess is not ready to deal with.

This was such a fun and energetic read. The characters were wonderful. Tess herself is a very independent woman. She is so used to taking care of herself that she never has time for herself. Miles on the other hand is not the playboy that everyone makes him out to be. Even though she says no to him often, he never gives up.

Overall this book is a wonderful and fun Rom-Com. The characters are lovable and fun. I really enjoyed Miles perspective and how he tried to show he could fit into their lifestyle even though his is money. I also enjoyed the realization of the single mom angle. Sometimes people don’t understand what single mothers go through on a daily basis. It really gives us a clear picture. Great work incorporating real with fantasy.

If you are looking for a feel good romance with stubbornness, then this book is right up your alley. It is full of fun and witty banter. It has fun loving characters with a classic Cinderella vibe. So break out the wine, pick up this book and curl up for a good time.

Millionaire Miles Prescott can't get the sexy nurse he met at a fundraising gala out of his head. For the first time ever, he doesn't want a woman with no-strings-attached. He wants everything—even it comes with a ready-made family with a woman in her forties. Suddenly, helping with homework doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world, especially if it means being near Tess. When I started reading I couldn't put it down. Shannyn Schroeder is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.

This book was fun. There wasn't really anything special about it, but I did enjoy the characters and the romance! I also liked that the main character had kids and that the guy full-on accepted them.

One Night With The Millionaire by Shannyn Schroeder is one of those precious trinkets I read when I am in between books or have just finished some heavy reading. One Night.. is a nice romantic short read, I finished it in one sitting and it is one of my guilty pleasure genres. I am not a die hard romantic but I do like reading romance novels from time to time.

The plot is pretty common, single mom of multiple kids slogging to make ends meet , meets cute /hot rich guy , wants to date but is resisting because of responsibilities. Guy steps up makes everyone happy.. and they lived happily after. :D

The writing style is very nice, clean without over exposition which happens sometimes in these genres. The story moves in a nice brisk walk without the meandering !

I love happy endings!! Will definitely check out other books from Shannyn Schroeder!

My readometer says 3.5/5 *

The story of Tess and Miles.
Her one night of freedom from the kids, she hooks up with miles, both of them expecting this to be a one night thing. But there is something about her which makes MIles want more - but will she let him in to her life and trust him?

I love the idea of a romance where the characters are older.

That said, I felt like this was about a couple of people in their 20s and neither of them struck me as all that likeable.

I appreciate the opportunity to read and review, but as this is a one star review, I won't do a full review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book is definitely not a light read, and not for younger readers. It was so real that I felt myself nodding at certain thoughts the characters were having, and relating to the situations they were in. Maybe that's more of a reflection of my age and what stage of life I'm in, but it was completely honest. Tess and Miles could literally be the next middle-aged couple you see walking down the road, looking completely happy, who have come together understanding what it takes to make a relationship work and last.
In short, this insightful piece of writing really nailed the realities of life and the hurdles that occur along the way.
4.5 stars.

This is the start of a good thing. A series that addresses the lives of mature couples trying to juggle ex-lives, new-lives and children is sure to be a hit. Tess and Miles are a couple that start out thinking they are only having one night together and end up with a lifetime. The author accurately describes the angst a mother feels, under normal circumstances, bringing a new partner into her children’s lives. She explores the dilemmas that divorced parents often struggle with such as loneliness and stress. The children add fun and hilarity and bring lightness to the story. It is work that the author can be very proud of and the rest of the series should be just as entertaining based on the characters we have been introduced to in the divorce group.

Tess Howland, is a divorcee and mother of three children. She works two jobs to support herself and her children along with the child support from her ex-husband. Lately she has spent so much time taking care of others that she has forgotten how to take care of herself. That will change when she attends a gala event and meets millionaire Miles Prescott. Miles is all about fun and wants to have fun with Tess. After their first night together, Miles realizes that he needs more than one night or a fling, he wants to spend time with her and maybe her children? The sex is amazing and Miles has no intention of giving up on Tess. Miles has never been around children and he will have to learn to accommodate their needs in to his life. Will Tess relax and trust Miles to be in her life…her children’s lives? I very much enjoyed this romance between somewhat older adults with young children added in to the mix. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

One Night with a Millionaire was a great change up from the normal reads out there. A second chance romance that readers could seriously identify with and enjoy as Tess and Miles’ story is revealed. Sincere, genuine characters in their 40’s that are struggling with all life throws at them all the while trying to find their way and their better halves. Loved it!

Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

Loved this story! Just jump right in and hold on!
Tess is a single mom, a little older and seriously needs just one night. One night without any strings and at the (no pressure here) urging of her friends decides to jump in with both feet. She meets Miles who is a little younger and doesn't understand the word No or one night only. I loved these two! It's the perfect romance with no angst and totally relatable characters and it hits all the happy buttons.
Watching these two maneuver their way through their relationship and Miles fitting in with her bunch was perfect. Shannyn's writing is stellar and it's worth a second read.

Seeing all the great reviews, I really REALLY wanted to like this but unfortunately, this fell flat to me. I don't know if it was the storyline, characters or content but I just wasn't feeling it.and I became bored by it within the first few hours. Just not my cup of tea.

One Night With A Millionaire, is a refreshing change. A lot of millionaire type romances have 20 something naive girls. This one has a divorced mother of three working two jobs. About as real as it gets. I really liked this book.

I really enjoyed this story. It stars two 40+ characters who end up dating and fall in love. But Tess is a very busy woman so she makes poor Miles work for it. Miles is a wealthy playboy and he doesn't have alot of ambition. Largely he works in a created for him position in his families company.

He attends a fundraiser with his mother. There he meets Tess, a divorced mom of 3 who also works as a nurse part time. They have a one night stand but he wants more but Tess is very busy and doesn't have time to date. This story is how he gets her to date him and then let him into her life and her kids life.

And it was very challenging. Miles is used to doing what he wants when he wants and he wants Tess but when you add kids in, kids are complicated and Miles has to learn how to be reliable.

I thought this was very well writtend and a realistic romance. I loved the kids and they really made teh story even more fun.

This is a sexy and fun romance that has Tess, a single mom of three, having a fun escape with Miles, a wealthy playboy. When their night of fun has the potential for something more, neither is sure what it means or how to manage it. The only thing Tess is sure of is that she doesn't need a man-child in her life and no one will hurt her kids.

I enjoyed this book and, while primarily the POV was Tess's, I also enjoyed Miles' perspective and how he approached trying to date a mom of three and how he could fit into their lives.

This is an entertaining novel that fans of the genre will love. The author is new to me and I'm looking forward to reading more of her books.

Miles isn't one for the word no, “lunch on Monday then?” he asked, returning her phone." Miles can be an old fashioned guy at times, “we texted. I wanted to hear your voice.” I liked this book, I fell in love with Miles.
