Loved this book. Well written, engrossing plot, and excellent characterizations. Had me guessing until the very end (which, by the way, was four a.m.). Couldn't put it down until I found out who the villain was. Shocker! Highly recommend.

Forget Me Not by Claire Allan is was a psychological thriller that kept me guessing.
Elizabeth was out walking her dog when she found a woman dying. The woman had been brutally attacked and it turns out that there was a link to Elizabeth's daughter who had died a few years before.
The woman's friends are now in fear for their lives and the police are trying to find the attacker before he strikes again.
I enjoyed this book and read it in a couple of days. I will be looking out for more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

Really liked this book, one of the best books I’ve read in a while! I did guess who the killer was but not till right near the end. 5*****

Claire is such an accomplished writer and has made the switch to psychological fiction seemlessly. Another excellent book, taut and twisty. Well done!

‘Warn them’. Those the last words of a dying woman found in a ditch. This is the beginning of the new book by Northern Irish author Claire Allan. This book was an absolute rollercoaster, the writing is brilliant and the characters were so well written. I particularly loved Elizabeth the elderly lady who found the body at the beginning. I thought I guessed who the murderer was but wow what an absolute fantastic revelation at the end. I will say no more. Please go read this. Highly highly recommended xx

Elizabeth is taking an early walk with her dog when she discovers Clare who has been murdered. As she does in her arms she whispers something to Elizabeth. Clare’s friends Rachel and Julie are besides themselves with grief but they also appear to be in danger and how are they linked to Elizabeth?

This was a good read and I really enjoyed it. I know my book club will like this one!

"Warn them." These were the last words spoken by Claire as she lay dying in a ditch at the side of the road. Elizabeth O'Loughlin, the poor old woman who sat beside her holding her hand. But who was Elizabeth supposed to warn and who had inflicted the horrifying injuries to Claire's body.

This is the beginning of the latest crime novel from Northern Ireland author, Claire Allan, and oh my god, what a story it is.

The writing is flawless, the characters are so real, and I was hooked from the first page. The story is told in dual point of view so we have Elizabeth and Rachel (one of Claire's best friends). Elizabeth has her own story and is out walking her dog when she comes across Claire. Elizabeth is struggling to come to terms with her own daughter's death two years previous and coming across the murder has a deep impact on her.

Rachel is struggling with her own grief too - her mother passed away from cancer - so Claire's death hits her hard. She's also struggling with her marriage.

The story unfolds with some fantastic character building and I really felt like I knew these people personally. I tried guessing who the murderer was but I had to keep reading and boy did I get a shock when all was revealed. I wasn't expecting the twists. I wasn't expecting the darkness or the cruelty of the murderer or his tormenting behaviour.

I have to say, I devoured this book. In fact, I ended up staying in the bath for well over an hour just to finish it because I had to know how it ended. Shrivelled and cold, I closed my kindle and thought, wow, that was bloody brilliant. I've loved all of Claire Allan's book so far, but I think this one has just pipped the post and become my favourite. I'm sure this will be another bestseller for the author and make it on to numerous best of 2019 book lists. I can't wait to see what she brings out next.

Thank you so much to Claire Allan and Avon Books for this ARC in return for an honest review.

Elizabeth O’Loughlin lives alone in her farm house with her dog. One early morning when out on a walk, she unfortunately finds Clare, fighting for her life following a brutal attack. Clare doesn’t hold on for long, but manages to whisper her frightening last words to Elizabeth before she slips away. Elizabeth is burdened with this message and knows that she must take action in order to stop anyone else being hurt or worse.

I have become ever so slightly obsessed with Claire Allan after reading Her Name was Rose and Apple of My Eye so I was so excited to get the opportunity to read her new work. I was not disappointed! This woman knows how to build some serious tension and to get you gripped on a story right from the beginning. I could have easily read this book in one sitting, if it wasn’t for life getting in the way. Instead i hurtled through it as fast as I could, absolutely dying to get to the end, gobbling every single word up.

There’s no beating about the bush with this book and the drama kicks off right from the prologue. The story is told from the perspectives of two of the characters and I really enjoyed that although there were plenty of other main characters, we got to hear the story from only two of them. Both different characters that wouldn’t have thought they would become linked, but end up living through the same nightmare.

I’d like to say that I was totally on the ball and saw the ending coming, but I would be lying. I had my suspicions about a possible ending, and there was a while where I was certain I’d nailed it. But that clever little twist came in and knocked me for six, making myself question how on earth I didn’t see it coming all along.

My only criticism for this book is that I want more. I want to know more about some of the characters aside from Rachel and Elizabeth, but I think that is me being the Claire Allan geek I seem to be turning into. I could easily see this story as a televised drama, I think it would translate really well.

Another awesome thriller from this author that has you hooked, emotional, on edge and absolutely addicted. I cannot wait for more.

This was a great read! It's told from more than one point of view - Elizabeth, the dog-walker that comes upon the dead body of Clare, and Rachel, a lifelong friend of Clare's. Clare's last words to Elizabeth set the wheels in motion as Elizabeth can't get them out of her mind and believes that others will be next. Rachel is devastated by her friend's murder and is determined to do whatever is necessary to bring the killer to justice. The way these women's lives intersect is fascinating, and though they have their own agendas, they ultimately just want the killer to be caught. Through several twists the reader comes to find just how deeply everyone is connected by this horrible crime.
I've never read this author before, but I have a new favorite now! Her writing kept me thoroughly engrossed and I just couldn't stop reading. It rises above your average thriller with well developed characters that you root for every step of the way. They are certainly not all likable people, but they are believable. No one should miss out on this book - it's guaranteed to satisfy!

Read in a day so it's certainly engaging. I enjoyed the writing and the twists but found the prologue confusing. As an aside, I loved the old 90s cultural references. I would read this author's work again.

This is my second book from the brilliant Claire Allan and it was just as good if not better than the first. A twisted and gripping tale that I read in just a couple of days, told from alternating points of view it certainly was a “ page- turner”. I did have a few suspicions about the perpetrator and I was right but the book was written in such a good way that it never spoiled my enjoyment at all. The plot was well thought out, the characters believable but not always likeable but for me that added to the attraction of the read and the twist at the end was something I hadn’t expected at all. So for me this was a soIid 4 star read and I would recommend it if you want an enjoyable and quick read.
My thanks to NetGalley, Claire Allan and Avon Books UK for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Just wow! I absolutely loved this fast paced, page turning, heart thumping new novel by Claire Allan. Forget Me Not is the third psychological thriller written by Claire Allan. I thoroughly enjoyed Her Name Was Rose and Apple of My Eye, this latest book did not disappoint. Forget Me Not is sure to be No 1 best seller. Suffice to say it’s an absolute must read and I can’t recommed it highly enough. The book deals with mental health, friendship, marriage and betrayal issues and all are handled and written by Allan in a such a sensitive way. Thank you Claire Allan, your publisher and Netgalley for the ARC copy.

Forget Me Not by Claire Allan is another wonderful thriller by this talented and exciting author. Compulsively readable, and full of shocking twists and compelling characters, this is a gripping read that I simply could not put down.

The novel is presented from the alternating perspectives of Rachel and Elizabeth, who are initially linked by an horrific murder. But just how deep a connection these two women share will gradually be unravelled over the course of an intensive police investigation.

Rachel, Clare, and Julie are old school friends who have remained close many years later. When Clare is found murdered, ominous warnings suggest that Rachel and Julie will be the next to die. Elizabeth, a lonely older woman, has the misfortune to find Clare's broken body, and bear witness to her final, cryptic words, "warn them". The words themselves mean nothing to Elizabeth, until an investigation reveals that she is linked to the women in ways she could never have imagined.

This is a twisty and well-conceived plot that kept me in its grasp throughout. I particularly enjoyed the final twist at the end of the epilogue. It is no less than chilling. I have only recently discovered the writing of Claire Allan, but I am fast becoming a very big fan.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for this wonderful ARC.
