I really enjoyed this book. I found the characters relatable and thought that the focus on the characters' grief gave the story a different edge to it. It had me hooked from the first page.

Told from two different perspectives, the elderly lady, Elizabeth, who finds a victim of a brutal attack whilst walking her dog and the young best friend of the victim, Rachel.

Twisty with a tense atmosphere

When I get an email from Claire's lovely publicity team inviting me to take part on a blog tour for her next book, honestly each time I can't email them back quick enough to get my name in. I adore this authors books and it is so exciting when I see a cover of her next book coming out.
She has without a doubt changed from writing contemporary, women's fiction to crime, psychological thriller with such ease and brilliance.
While I loved her debut "Her Name Was Rose" and her second book "Apple Of My Eye", this third one I feel is her most definitely her best one yet.
I can see from each book she writes, that she just gets better and better with each one.
Her storylines, the suspense involved in each one, her characters, I love it all.
Forget Me Not starts off with a body of course but before the girl dies she whispers "Warn them"....
I know...creepy isn't it..😱😱
I was hooked from those words after reading them and I will admit I suspected everyone at some point or other in the story.
She had me guessing throughout the book.
I kept thinking the killer is closer than I think.
Check this one out.
Your heart will be in your mouth reading it.

Thank you kindly to author Claire Allan and her publishers Avon Books UK for my copy of this book. Much appreciated.

Another fast paced thriller from Claire Allan that will have you hooked from start to end, desperately trying to guess what will happen before the Author answers your questions for you, then leaving you surprised at the unexpected twists and turns.
As with previous books, Claire manages to create a tale that is at once dark and sinister, utterly and at times disturbingly believable. The twists and turns were surprising until the very end, keeping me guessing and missing with each new scenario.
Although the writing style flows wonderfully, making this a fast paced read that’s effortless to follow, the topics and considerations about family, love and friendship are at times disturbingly apt, the perfect mixture of eerie and realistic I have come to rely on from the author.
Told from not just one view, Claires books give different views as the scenarios unfold. With previous Authors I have found this to be frustrating from a short book, winding up feeling as though I don’t know anybody and become disengaged from the story, yet in this case I very quickly came to feel as if i knew the characters very well.
If you enjoy Psychological thrillers then you should read this asap! Whether you have adored Claires previous books or this will be your first adventure in her works, this will have you desperate for more!

Elizabeth is up early and ready to take her dog, Izzy, for a walk before the heat gets too oppressive. When Izzy starts barking, Elizabeth finds a young woman, barely breathing, and whose throat has been cut. Elizabeth calls for an ambulance and tries to comfort the woman who says “warn them” and then passes away.

The woman’s name is Clare. She, Rachel, and Julie all went to school together and have been friends for years. Her friends and their families are devastated. Who could have killed their friend and why?

Soon, Rachel, Julie, and Elizabeth start receiving unusual floral arrangements with strange notes written on them. That’s when they all begin to fear for their own lives.

This is a story that keeps the reader alert and trying to figure out who could have killed Clare and why does this person want to kill Rachel and Julie too? Tension builds as we learn more about the characters, but it’s not until the end of the story that it all comes together for a startling conclusion. A really good thriller. Don’t miss it!

Did not see the ending coming at all! I previously saw this book posted on facebook so was super excited when I was chosen to read it on here. Top ten thrillers!

Claire Allan's work keeps getting better and better. It is brilliant to have such great writers in Northern Ireland being recognised for their talent.
This was a proper page-turner that I devoured in one go and really recommend if you love a good, creepy suspense novel.
Also, if you aren't following her on Twitter you should be!

In Derry, Ireland, 41-year old Clare Taylor is found brutally murdered on the side of the road. Her last words whispered were “warn them,” springing the police into an investigation to find Clare’s killer and protect any future victims. We follow the perspectives of two women—Elizabeth and Rachel—during the investigation, putting the pieces together, uncovering what happened to Clare Taylor.

Elderly local, Elizabeth, was out walking her dog when she discovered Clare. Her last words will forever be ingrained in Elizabeth’s mind. Clare’s death is bringing back tough memories for Elizabeth. Her own daughter, Laura, tragically died 2-years previously and Elizabeth is still stricken with grief.

Rachel and Julie grew up with Clare and the three of them have been friends for over 30-years. Clare’s friends are shocked to learn of her death and as the investigation continues, they question how well they truly knew her. On top of the investigation, Rachel is dealing with her own set of problems. Her marriage is on the rocks and she’s been keeping a deep, dark secret from her husband for months.

After Clare’s murder, peculiar flower bouquets, along with cryptic messages start showing up—at the homes of Clare’s family, Rachel and Elizabeth, as well as at the crime scene. At first, they seem harmless, maybe someone trying to play a prank, but the women quickly learn that someone is taunting them. Someone knows their pasts and is determined to make them pay. They’re next, or so the notes say. And if the police don’t discover who the killer is, their lives are in serious danger...

Forget Me Not by Claire Allan is a fast-paced thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. This was my first time reading a book by Claire Allan and I’m glad I gave her a chance! This thriller is pacey and never let up, keeping me in constant suspense. It’s full of unlikable characters, which I enjoy in a thriller. It also has a double-reveal at the end and I’m happy to say I didn’t guess who the killer was. Highly recommend this quick and creepy thriller! 4.5/5 stars.

A quick read with short chapters and lots going on. Bullying has lasting effects on the person being bullied and those individuals close to the bully and suffer through their anguish. This book not only deals with bullying but also with families who are hurting but fail to seek help, it shows how relationships break down for a variety of reasons and the consequences that result. Secrets and mysteries abound in this thriller. The ending brings some closure but the author also indicates the things are not what they appear to be.

What a fabulous book. I inhaled it in the space of a day (all right, I was running behind with my reading but even so, it's one I just didn't want to put down).

It gets off to a blistering start with the discovery of a body during a heatwave. Elizabeth O'Loughlin is out walking her dog one morning when she discovers Clare Taylor, a woman who has been the subject of a vicious attack. Elizabeth hears Clare's last words but they don't mean a great deal to her.

We then hear from Elizabeth throughout the story and it's clear she has a place in the story but what is not clear is what that place is. We also hear from Rachel, one of Clare's best friends, and we follow her as she deals with the aftermath of Clare's attack amidst the mess that her own life is becoming. As the story progresses it becomes clear that there's a lot more to the attack than first thought and more women are in danger.

I found Forget Me Not to be an intense and gripping read all the way from that explosive beginning to the explosive ending. I had an inkling of some of what was to happen but not all of it and Claire Allan did a fantastic job of weaving the plot together to keep up the tension.

Hearing from the characters in the first person really puts the reader right into the heart of the action and at the end I was just turning those pages as fast as I could. It's really exciting stuff with lots of twists and turns.

When Elizabeth is walking her dog, she comes across a woman who has been brutally stabbed and is dying. Claire, the dying woman, tells Elizabeth to warn the others just before she dies. The story then follows Elizabeth and Rachel, one of Claire's closest friends, as they struggle with Claire's death and the fact that the murderer is still on the loose.

I thought this was a bit of a slow burn and I was waiting for it to pick up steam and thankfully, I thought things did get pretty interesting around the halfway point. I kind of thought I knew who the murderer was and I was sort of right but there was a lot more to it. As it turned out, I really enjoyed this book. I felt the same about Her Name Was Rose - slow beginning but a solid conclusion. I think I know what to expect with Clare Allan's books now, and I look forward to reading the next one.

Whoa this was good. Can you imagine just out walking your dog and being roped into something like this?! Very The Net-ish.

My thoughts; this is my first dive into one of Claire’s books and I definitely wasn’t disappointed, I read it in one sitting because I just could not put it down.

The story starts with Elizabeth taking her dog Izzy for a walk, Izzy runs off and soon starts yelping and whining, Elizabeth goes to investigate and discovers a body by the side of the road, on closer inspection she realises that the woman (Claire) is still alive so she holds her hand and reassures her she’s not alone. Claire manages to say two words before she dies “warn them”

Who is she warning? what is she warning them of?!

The story is told from 2 perspectives, Elizabeth’s & Rachel’s (one of Claire’s childhood best friends) the story has so many elements and so many twists and turns. The tension builds and builds until the dramatic ending when you learn that Elizabeth may not be a stranger to the victim.

Can they get to the bottom of what really happened to Claire before someone else gets hurt?
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good thriller.

Trigger warnings for suicide and abuse.

Forget Me Not by Claire Allan is the second book that I have read by this author.

What a chilling first chapter! The story begins with the discovery of Clare’s just minutes before she died. Elizabeth was walking her dog when she stumbled upon a badly injured Clare. With her last breath, Clare left a chilling message for Elizabeth. This is where the search for answers begins. Who killed Clare? Are there others also in danger? What did her message mean and how is her death connected to Elizabeth?

The story is narrated through two main POVs. I sympathized with Elizabeth; she was an old, sweet lady who had gone through terrible nightmares and unimaginable loss. The second narrator was Rachel. I didn’t quite like her or agree with some of her decisions. Still, she was a fascinating character.

This was an intense read with suspense right from the first scene. I was curious about Clare’s death and her chilling message. The story is filled with secrets and lies that made it hard to correctly guess the identity of the culprit. I honestly thought I had figured it all out but then again, the author threw the story in a totally different direction.

The ending was just as good as the rest of the narrative. It’s the kind of ending that will make you gasp as you wonder whether everything is truly settled or if something else is still going on.

If you enjoy fast-paced, captivating, suspenseful reads then Forget Me Not is one book that you should have on your TBR. With a warning from a dying woman, cryptic notes and flowers, characters hiding secrets, a killer on the loose, what more do you need from a thriller? What an entertaining read!

I would firstly like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow what a read. This one joins Claire Allan's other two reads in a 5 star rating. Throwing you right in the story, the tension and the suspense never lets up. From beginning to end, I was completely hooked in the story and very much on the edge of my seat. Yes I had sort of guessed the reveal but honestly it still didn't take away the enjoyment of the read.
A heart-pounding page-turner from a very talented author who is definitely becoming one of my favourites at the moment. Can't wait for her next!

A girl is killed on the 10th anniversary of her sister's disappearance, which leads Maddie to think there must be a connection. Her reaction to not knowing what happened is so realistic, as is the behaviour of friends and family.
An intriguing story with interesting characters

A decent psychological thriller with enough twists to keep you engaged. However, I did work out who the culprit was from quite early on so the ending wasn’t a surprise.
My thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and the author for this copy.

This story had such a lot happening and I was hooked right from the first page. As the truth slowly came to light and the murderer was revealed I couldn’t put it down and eagerly kept reading until the final page. A truly great read.
