MISS JULIA TAKES THE WHEEL by Ann B. Ross is the next in a 20 book cozy mystery series featuring the ever curious Miss Julia. Here, Dr. Hargrove leaves for a months-long trip and Miss Julia decides to invite the temporary town doctor, Don Crawford, and his wife, Lauren, to dinner. There's something mysterious in his behavior to investigate. And that keeps Miss Julia busy as well as helping young Lloyd with his first car – a Pontiac Bonneville older than he is. Light and amusing, the Miss Julia titles offer fun beach reads for the summer.

Another delightful installment in the Miss Julia series. This time around Miss Julia’s regular doctor has taken an extended vacation and leaves Dr. Don Crawford as a fill-in. Ever the duty conscious Southern lady, Miss Julia invites the good doctor and his wife over for a dinner party. While Miss Julia seems concerned with the lack of social graces exhibited by the doctor’s wife, others of the party feel something amiss about Dr. Crawford himself. Meanwhile Miss Julia’s time is further distracted by the every day trials and tribulations of her family and friends, all requiring her assistance and intervention.

Fans of the Miss Julia books as a well as fans of cozy mysteries in general will be anxious to pick up this latest book in the series.

I haven't read Ms Ross's books in a while, and I found this installment to be delightful. The characters are funny and the author does touch on some current social problems. A light easy read for the holiday season.
