Good Man, Dalton was a heart-warming story about expectation versus reality, friendship and family. Greta is eager to take an internship with her celebrity cousin whom she has never met. Dalton is posing as a homeless man for reasons known only to him. For both of them, reality is not matching their expectations. When their paths cross these two find themselves on an unexpected adventure. McQuestion's characters are lovable and keep the reader turning the pages quickly to learn how the story ends!

An interesting story where lies are woven into everyday life to protect someone from the past. Cousins finally meet and become best friends.

A fast sweet story! Loved the characters and how they changed as the story went on. I think it ended alittle too fast for me, it could have gone on for a few more chapters. I enjoyed it!!

Good Man, Dalton is a touching story of humanity in a shallow world. It's a good portrayal of the haves and have nots. It's so interesting to read about morals and values interwoven into a meet cute story. A feel good read that will make you smile and question who you are. I recommend this one. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

It's a cute romance but it contain also food for thought as not all is lightness.

I enjoyed the depth of this book taking on the very real issue of homeless veterans and someone using their wealth to help others. Two cousins who have never met, secretly envy the other's lives, one average, and one of wealth and fame. When Greta meets her famous cousin she discovers things aren't always as they appear in the media. Enter Dalton who is trying to make his mark in the world but not how his father had envisioned. When Dalton and Greta meet in the big city, sparks start to fly and fate continues to bring them together. Thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I received an ARC edition of Good Man, Dalton from Karen McQuestion in exchange for an honest review. So, thank you Karen and I appreciate you thinking of me:)

Another great book by Karen McQuestion!

Parallel stories of two strangers, a young woman from the mid-west interning in New York City with her celebrity cousin and a young man who wants to experience living on the streets as a homeless man.

If rom-coms are your thing, then I'd recommend this sweet, heartwarming, and eye-opening story about living a high profile lifestyle and then down to the struggles of living without a roof over your head.

Is it fate, destiny, or by chance that these two meet in a city with over a million people. This #meetcute story is more than just a light-romance story. I like that this story reminds people to look past the outer image of what they see. To get to know and understand, rich or poor, who a person really is.

Like I said, another great story from Karen McQuestion:) Full review on the Plum Report site coming soon!

Thank you NetGalley and Karen McQuestion for the ARC for the novel Good Man, Dalton.
What a wonderful book. Greta and Dalton were so real.
Dalton Bishop has a secret. A man of privilege, he’s been living on the streets as a social experiment. Now, in gracious payback for his chivalry, Cece invites him to an elegant fund-raiser called the Forgotten Man Ball. It’s Greta he’s taken with, however—and to Greta’s surprise, she’s taken right back. But Dalton has one more secret up his tattered sleeve. For right now, though, he’s just happy embracing the woman of his dreams. It’s only the beginning of a romantic and revealing adventure that will take them to a place where money, class, and fame matter far less than true love.
So much kindness and Dalton reminded you kindness is always out there. How can one not love such an enduring book?

A wonderful "feel good novel"!
It is a love story with kindness, morals and humanity.
Dalton is living in NYC for two weeks as a homeless person. It is not as easy as one would assume especially when you are used to living a life of comfort.
Greta is in NYC on an internship with her cousin's multi-billion dollar company. She has no idea how she will do this and manage her new responsibilities.
It's an instant look that causes these two young people to fall in love, but the journey with Dalton and Greta is heartwarming and fun!
Definitely a light book that will leave you smiling!

I think this book is best suited to new adult readers. The story of a young socialite, think Paris Hilton, who exists primarily on social media and seems to not have a clue how artificial her life is. Greta, her innocent cousin from Wisconsin comes to stay for the summer and ends up joining her cousin in her media fantasy life. Meanwhile Dalton, heir to generations of wealth, has decided to become “homeless” for two weeks as an experiment. All three meet and romance is in the air.
Personally I found all aspects unbelievable, but regarding the multiple reviews I read before reading, most people seemed to love the book.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy, all opinions are my own.

I chose this book on a "lark" not knowing what I would find between the pages. Surprise, it was just the kind of story that I needed, light, romantic and enjoyable. Greta takes on an internship and goes to New York for the summer leaving small town Wisconsin. Dalton, takes on a project becoming a homeless person for two weeks. Cece is Greta's cousin and a handful and unbeknownst to Greta, she is in reality babysitting her cousin, keeping her out of trouble. This story of self-discovery is sweet as the 3 of them find out who they really are.

This is my first time reading Karen McQuestion's writing, it won't be my last. Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This a lighthearted book to read. I felt a connection to the main characters right away.
This story is about 2 people who meet by chance and their lives are forever changed. Greta Hansen is living a dream. She finally gets to meet her cousin, Cece, whom she has admired her entire life. Greta life is simple, she is from Wisconsin and doesn't live a glamorous life. She needs an internship to help further her career. She has a family connection to the wealthy Vanderhanven family in Manhattan. Greta landed her dream job for the summer, to intern with her cousin Cece whom she has never met, yet follows on social media. She sees the glamorous life that she leads and cannot believe her luck in being able to intern at Firstborn Daughter all summer long...and spend time and work alongside Cece. Greta soon finds out that her "internship" is a facade and what she really is doing is "babysitting" Cece, assigned to keep her from showing her true self to the public. The bond that forms between the 2 young women is lovely and genuine. They truly care for each other and support each other.

Dalton Bishop happens into the 2 young women's paths quite by accident. Dalton is on his own quest. with his own secret. He is temporarily homeless on the streets of New York City, conducting a social experiment. Determined to show his father, a wealthy businessman, that he can contribute something. The attraction Dalton and Greta feel for each other is almost instantaneous., from the moment they lay eyes on each other they both feel it. The rest of the story is an adventure for these 3 young people as they all set out to prove themselves.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for the advanced readers’ copy of GOOD MAN DALTON by Karen McQuestion.

Love, love, loved this book! The kindness that was shown by some of the characters is just what we need in books right now. The social media exploits that happened in this book are right out of the daily life our young adults are living right now. I loved the characters and was really happy with the way the book ended. You go Good Man, Dalton. Give me a new Karen McQuestion book and I'll buy it every time #favoriteauthor

GOOD MAN DALTON is an irresistible love story that brings together two delightful characters, along with a wonderfully drawn supporting cast, through an enjoyable and yet meaningful series of circumstances. While it is a lighthearted and often humorous story, it has its serious side, touching with compassion on such issues as PTSD and rendering effective aid to the homeless. I loved every page

A love story but also a story of forging one’s own way in spite of parental expectations. The novel also touches on some pressing issues: PTSD, homelessness, societal expectations. I found this book to be an easy read, great for readers of all ages.

Thanks to NetGalley and Lake Union for the advanced copy of this book!

I absolutely adored this book! Ms. McQuestion took me behind the scenes into the life of the ultra rich with the characters of Cece and Greta. She also took me out on the streets of the city with Dalton to "experience" what homelessness is like and how someone who lives on the streets struggles with the conditions and circumstances they're in.
Public impressions of people aren't always what their private lives are like and in the case of Cece it wasn't anything the same. Ms. McQuestion wrote an amazing story interacting the two scenarios, homelessness and high society, together with such likeable and delightful characters. I loved Dalton immediately and his heart for helping others. Cece and Greta had an instant connection with each other like they had been best friends since childhood. How the three end up meeting and the adventures that ensue are ones that bring each character to realize what's important to them and what they really want for their futures and that being who they are is enough. I really like this passage when Greta realizes this. "Ever since she was a little girl, she'd thought her cousin had the perfect life, but she'd found that appearances could be deceiving, and now she wouldn't trade places with Cece for anything."
This book is a delight. It has a bit of suspense, some challenges, and heartwarming, sweet romance. For me what I felt most in the book was the compassion for others and wanting the best for them.
I loved the setting of this story. I felt like I was in NYC and taking in the experience of city life. The good and the bad. From the very bottom of the social realm to the very highest. I wanted to be with the characters and be a part of their stories. I was emotionally engaged and felt like I was part of the story.
This book was so much fun to read! I loved it from the very first page all the way to the last one.
I want to thank Ms. McQuestion, Netgalley, and Lake Union for the awesome opportunity to read this book. It's a five star read for me. It made me happy!

Not my normal kind of read, but excellent choice for this time of year (Christmas) when I wanted a light read with a good story. Sweet and fun, feel good story. The grass is not always greener and things are not always what they seem and dreams do come true. Enjoyed the read.

I read this book at the request of an author friend and I am so glad that I did ! It was a quick. light and witty read. You can't help but love all of the characters. It was very sweet and uplifting. One boy who pretends to be homeless to try and enact change and another girl who goes across the country for an internship and their whole lives change as well as the life of Greta's cousin. Their lives come together and all change for the better. It's a feel good story and we could all use that right about now. Great book !

Have you ever wanted to see how the other half lives?

Greta Hansen followed her famous cousin Cece on social media thinking how wonderful & glamorous Cece's life was. Lucky Greta goes to NY to be an intern with Cece's family for the summer, but things dont always turn out the way we think they should.

Dalton Bishop lives a privileged life - albeit not to the same extent as Cece. His father wants Dalton to work in the family business, but he has other oplans. Dalton walks away from his life to live as a homeless person.

Two strangers meet by chance. Two strangers recognize something special in each other. This is their story.

Thank you to Karen McQuestion & Lakr Union Publishing for the ARC that I received for an honest review.

This was such a fun book ~ sort of a slice of life that the rich and famous (or infamous) experience. Cece's life is buffed, polished and scheduled to the nth degree. Her cousin, Greta, from a small Wisconsin town near Milwaukee, has lived a completely different life. Their lives intersect one summer and they both learn things from the other.

I enjoyed the characters very much and appreciated how well rounded and real they seemed. Yes, even Cece seemed real and relatable once we got to know her. The descriptions of parts of NYC were well done and having been there, made me feel as if I were visiting for the first time.

Good Man, Dalton is a book I'd recommend to people who love to be sucked into a story immediately, enjoy relatable characters and beautiful descriptions along with your interesting book that flirts with romance. I say that because this is mostly about discovering who you are and what you want to do in life. There is romance, but discovery, in my opinion, is the main theme of this excellent read.
