Convergence deals with three timelines intermixed throughout the story. Dr. Denilyn Rossi, a psychologist and later a psychology professor, has dealt with a stalker in the past and is dealing with a stalker now. Her first experience with a stalker destroyed her marriage to Keith, but at the same time gave her a feeling of empowerment that she survived the situation and that the stalker was in prison. But now, eight years later, she is consumed by self doubt, anxiety attacks, and the inability to perform her job, knowing she is dealing with a stalker again. Constant fear is no way to live and Denilyn decides to do something to end the stalker threat forever.

I have trouble enjoying books that withhold so much from the reader that the protagonist knows. Both Denilyn, in her timelines and Adelia, in her timeline, often refer to what has happened in the past without us getting to know what has happened. The withholding of information from the reader, about big events of the past, while the characters talk all around the specific events without revealing what happened, is frustrating to me. But about a third of the way through the book I just let that go, especially because I started to have ideas about what had happened. For me the book actually got better once I had more information about the past because I began to care more then about what might happen in the future.

The author did an excellent job of making me feel the dread and fear of the stalker being right around the corner with no where to hide. I can usually stand back and read about what is happening to characters, without feeling scared myself, but there is a garage scene that really made me feel like things were "real". At the same time, the main character does some really unwise things when she is aware that someone is stalking her and threatening to kill her and those close to her and this was before she tries to take control of the future events.

I enjoyed the white water rafting scenes and also could understand why Denilyn's entire life was affected by the stalker, past and present. I look forward to reading future mystery/thrillers from Ginny L. Yttrup. I'd rate this book 3.5, rounded up to a 4. Thank you to Barbour Publishing, Inc.and NetGalley for this ARC.

Great Christian fiction, suspence.. Ginny does a great job keeping the story flowing even though it jumps from past to present, between two characters. Her message that all things are possible if we let God take hold of our lives is nicely woven throughout the story, but doesn't overwhelm it.

Great suspense novel. This is my first novel by this author but I will definitely be reading more. I liked the way the story altered from past to present. I also like the spirituality of the story. Dr. Rossi is a psychology professor who has PTSD due to something that happened in her past. There are many twists and turns. Thanks to Barbour Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I could not put this down. The story was deep and complex. It was an incredible read. I enjoyed every word of this book. Ginny Yttrup has been one of my favorite authors for a while and I was very excited to review this new novel. The suspense and mystery were extremely well written. At first, I was a bit put out with all the different time frames but very soon, all the pieces (and time periods) began to converge. This really was an exceptional book all around. I do wish that there might have been a bit more romance to the book but on the other hand, it is refreshing to read a fabulous book that is not completely centered on the romance! A MUST READ!!!!

The bad: It took me until about midway to become invested in the story. The story took place in three timelines And the way it was written I was left a little lost and confused at times and had to keep going back. Some of the descriptions got to be a little wordy at times.
The good: The book contained good suspense, a not bad plot and the main character is likable, once I got into the story I got hooked but it took a bit.
All in all, not a bad Suspense book and for that reason giving it a 4.

I had read one other book by Ginny Yttrup and found it very well-written and attention-keeping, so decided to try her first foray into the suspense genre. If you like adrenalin-producing, chill-worthy suspense, you will love this book! The suspense is kept up throughout the book, and Yttrup reveal secrets very sparingly. Her descriptions of the weather and locations just add to the suspense (fog, pouring rain, narrow canyons, swirling rivers). I was worn out by the end, but was glad I perservered. However, if you get nightmares after a scary movie, you probably should not read this book :-)

Convergence by Ginny L. Yttrup is a thriller as Denilyn is being stalked by someone who may want to kill her. Denilyn is a Doctor of Psychology but what happens when she is stalked? How will she be able to deal with the trauma? Her stalker is caught and imprisoned but years later the feeling of someone watching her comes back and then other strange things begin to happen. How can it be when the stalker, Brad Mathison, is still in prison, or is he? Deni is determined, with God’s help, to take back her life and not live in fear anymore.
I really enjoyed this book and it was hard to put it down until I finished it. There are many twists and turns as the story unfolds. What may seem a diversion and not important to the story may later be a very important clue. The writer’s style is excellent in the way she goes back and forth from what happened in the past and the past relationships of the characters and then back to the present time and situation. I give this book 5 of 5 stars.

I have mixed feelings on this book. Most of the book moved so slowly that I was tempted to stop reading. But the ending was a nice twist and well worth reading.

What an exciting read! This story had my complete and full attention from beginning to end. The nail-biting suspense had my heart pounding and anxiety skyrocketing. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. And then came a mind-blowing revelation that left me stunned. I had to set my Kindle down for a little while to digest it all and when I picked it back up I was turning the pages even faster than before. It was a brilliant suspense!

Following Denilyn and Adelia, it goes back and forth between the two POVs and the past and present. I really had to pay attention to the dates at the top of the chapters so I wouldn't get confused where I was or who I was with. In the beginning, I did find myself enjoying one of the POVs more than the other.

This was my first time reading a book by this author and it certainly won't be the last. It was an incredible multi-layered suspense that I'm going to be thinking about for a long time. I highly recommend!

After someone stalked and attacked Denilyn, it hurt her marriage, emotions, and faith. Now, she has worked through it, or thought she has. Soon, the events begin again, and she has to come to grips with something she has been trying to avoid in Ginny L. Yttrup's Convergence.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the book, as I had never heard of Ginny Yttrup, but I am glad I read it. From the start, I was caught up in the story. It has a gripping plot, and the descriptions let you imagine what is going on as the events unfold. I enjoyed each page. The only problem I had was that just as I planned to stop and take a break, there was something that happened that made me want to read another chapter and find out what came next.

I also like that the book has a thread of encouragement woven throughout the story. Deni has to learn to be bold. To not cower in fear, but trust in God for His guidance and provision. Several other characters help her to rediscover her faith. What she goes through can be helpful to readers, even if what they are facing isn't as terrible as Deni's situation.

4.5/5

Intriguing, fast-paced, thrilling and crazy plot twists, is what this first suspense novel from Ginny L. Yttrup produced.

Suspense is my favourite genre, and with favourite authors like Lynette Eason, Terri Blackstock, Irene Hannon and Dani Pettrey I have quite high expectation when I give a new suspense author a try. Ginny met every expectation with this book. I found myself reading late in the evening/early morning hours to see what is going to happen and found myself a few times surprised with some excellent unexpected plot twists.

So why not full 5 stars - for me, the whole book felt like it was building up towards an ending that would be full of action and revelations. I guessed early on who the villain is, so I was waiting for the face to face at the end. It did come, but it felt a bit rushed. I would have liked a bit more revelation from the villain wrt why he did what he did and especially a better declaration wrt the accident so many years ago.

I loved the theme of overcoming your fears and truly letting go and trust in God's protection. I also love how Jay en Deni were honest with each other when they discussed their feelings and how they helped each other to work through what the experience.

Fans of Christian suspense should definitely pick up this book.

The twists, turns and suspense in Ginny L. Yttrup's novel, "Convergence," keep the reader interested and wanting more to the very end. Yttrup weaves a plot that's predictable enough to be believable with enough surprises to keep things interesting. A master storyteller, Yttrup creates rich, real characters with whom readers can easily identify. As a psychology professor and therapist, main character Denilyn's mantra is, "The past is either a shadow that haunts us or a force that propels us." Her belief is put to the test as a traumatic comes back to haunt her and she decides if and how she will move forward.
The novel's title, "Convergence" is a great description of the way Yttrup is able to offer a suspenseful story while at the same time showing readers what it looks like to process trauma with a therapist and overcome PTSD by moving forward.
Yttrup's natural, but rich writing style weaves word pictures that keep the reader wanting more. For example, one character nursed "wounds so deep they hemorrage[d} hatred." At another point, Yttrup made this comparison: "LIke a child hiding in the folds of her mother's skirt, the morning sun shrinks behind dark, billowing clouds, seeming to have forgotten its own power."
For those who enjoy suspense novels, this one won't disappoint. While it has all the elements of true suspense that keeps the reader on the edge of the seat, "Convergence" offers wholesome reading and biblical truth without being preachy.

This is the definition of convergence “Convergence is when two or more things come together to form a new whole, like the convergence of plum andapricot genes in the plucot. Convergence comes from the prefix con-, meaning together, and the verb verge, which means to turn toward.”
The events in this book come together to form a whole, you as the reader can try to see how Denilyn’s life events come together so that she can know who attacked her many years ago when she was first married.
Denilyn is an author and an educator, who wrote a book about bullying, whose own life was impacted by being bullied.
Denilyn was stalked by a stranger who attacked her, leaving her with panic attacks and PTSD. She had started recovering and getting her life back when she started feeling uneasy and forgetful, and she feared that her jailed attacker had returned.
Who is really attacking her?

Convergence is an extremely intense psychological thriller that keeps the readers’ minds racing throughout the novel. Ginny L. Yttrup tells the story of Dr. Dennilyn Rossi who was the victim of a stalker who tried to take her life. Even though he is still in prison, eight years later, history seems to be repeating itself. The search for answers and an end to the fear and danger Dr. Rossi is experiencing turns out like no one would have expected.

The story takes place in three different storylines, so at times it was a little confusing what was happening, mainly in Adelia’s storyline through the book. This book may be a trigger for people who have experience with a stalker because it is such an authentic story, and the main character deals with a husband who does not take the threats against her seriously. This book kept me in suspense and wanting to find out what would happen next. I look forward to reading more by Ginny L. Yttrup.

This novel was complex, and I found it somewhat difficult to follow at times. A lot of the story features back and forth storylines that confused me. I had to pay especially close attention to the dates at the beginning of each chapter. I kept on reading as I really was interested in seeing how the storylines would “converge.” Yttrup gives enough clues during the story, that you can probably figure out the ending—but there are still some surprises along the way.
