EJM left me wanting to read the rest of the book.. Can't wait to read the rest of the story of Theo and Izzy. Two broken people found each other. This shows Love can help anyone and everyone

Can't wait to dive into the whole story and see what happens next

I have been wanting this book and getting to read this preview has just made me want it more. I can’t wait to get my hands on the entire book and see what Jodi Ellen Malpas has in store for us.

I enjoyed this preview to a certain extent - the characters are intriguing and there is palpable chemistry between the two. I don’t mind an overbearing and broken alpha hero, but Theo seemed to take things a little far and definitely felt a little stalkery (how did he even know it was time for her to leave work? Was he having her watched the whole time?), and he also didn’t seem to understand the word no. That said, the writing style was good and the story moved quickly. Personally, I will not be reading the full book but I’m sure fans of 50 Shades will love it.

Izzy White has put her dark and damaging past behind her and is now a hospital nurse. It’s the one place she has always felt safe. Theo Kane has a notorious reputation and most people are sacred of him, but not Izzy. She refuses to be bullied or scared of anyone again. When Izzy and Kane meet unexpectantly in a dark alley to help one of Theo’s girls, there is an immediate attraction on Kane’s part.

This book reminded me so much of Christian Grey and Gideon Cross as well as Ana Steel and Eva Tramell from the novels Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You respectively. In fact, it might have reminded me too much of those characters. As a Jodi Ellen Malpas fan I was torn on whether I loved this or not. It seemed to rush through the important parts where she could have drawn the story out and really delved into their pasts. This could have easily been a series. It is also very predictable, and no one seems to understand how birth control works! Or at least it never seems to work in these stories. On the other hand though, I couldn’t put it down because it was a great story, even if it has been done before. Izzy and Kane are a great match and sooth each other’s demons. There are also some great messages interwoven such as, “A man should protect a woman. Not hurt her. And a woman should feel safe with a man, not afraid. “

Overall, this is a can’t put down read, it just has a storyline that has been covered by many authors already.

It was a good sample, long enough to tease about the story and characters but short enough to left me wanting more, I might get the audiobook and finish it.

Though I was only privy to the first four chapters of the book. I cannot wait to get the complete novel!

I really enjoyed the other books by this author, and this one is set up to be very enjoyable as well, It starts out very strong, with a lot of action up front. I like that Izzy isn't just falling into Theo's arms, but I also want to know why she's resisting! I really want to read the rest of the story.

Seems like both Izzy and Theo have some secrets and I am dying to know hat they are!

What a tease this was! Gah, completely draws you in and entices you to buy the book which is a must read!

I love JEMs characters and writing!

I did enjoy this book but when I was reading it I kept thinking of Jesse and Ava.. There were a lot of similarities between books when it comes to the characters and their traits..

Anyhow, I liked it but I didn’t love it!

This is just four chapters of the book. It is as good as you would expect from this author. I would recommend buying this one as I will be. It hooks you that fast.

Jodi Ellen Malpas is now an author added to my TBR author list - I’ve determine her awesomeness by just reading this excerpt of Gentleman Sinner which was just SO GOOD !!

Izzy is a nurse finishing her shift and on her way home ( walking no less -she takes a short cut that puts her in a not so great neighborhood) witnesses an attack & then she is also attacked … Theo comes out of nowhere to her rescue & their attraction is pretty immediate- you can feel the chemistry 🔥🔥 coming off the pages …

My local library happens to have the book so I can delve into their story that BTW I know I am going to ❤️❤️

Didn’t realise I had already read this. Really enjoyed it the first time and as soon as I’d read the first sentence it brought it all back to me. Great storyline and likeable characters. Although this version is only chapters 1-4.

I love Jodi Ellen Mapas’ books. She captures the anti-hero perfectly. So I was eagerly anticipating this novel.

I was disappointed to only get a preview, “or taste” of the novel but it definitely whet my appetite and I purchased the book as soon as it was released and it definitely did not disappoint.

I highly recommend but not for the faint of heart. Her heroine and heroes are not perfect and that is why I love them.

This is a steamy suspenseful stand alone romance. From the first page it had me turning the pages. I devoured the first four chapters and will be purchasing the book. This author has a way of creating heros that make you wish they were real. These first few chapters reel you in and make you feel so many emotions for these characters, can’t wait to read what happens next. Izzy and Theo are both survivers, they are each others light and darkness.

it was amazing


Jodi is a one click author for me. One that I will buy the book without hesitation because I know with every fibre in my body that the book will be amazing.

I fell in love with Theo immediately, if there's one thing this author can do it's create sexy alpha males to swoon over.

Izzy is a great character too, she's a strong capable woman that has been though a lot and is still strong and capable. 

I expected Izzy to have a much stronger and shocking back story than it was if I'm honest. It was mentioned a lot and eventually was explained but felt very played down. This doesn't stop the book from being a brilliant read though in my opinion, nor does it stop it from being a 5 star read.

This teaser was everything but only left me in more excited and intrigued

Jodi knows how to grip you from the very beginning and with this mysterious new alpha I couldn’t put it down !

This is my first review but not my first book by Jodi Ellen Malpas. Jodi has done it again. This was only a preview but I know it will be great. I feel like some people probably look at her books and think they are all sex, but just reading these first chapters(where there is no sex) you would know they are not. The story pulls you in. You can feel the emotions and connections from her well written words. I think that is the only fault I have with a preview like this, it leaves you wanting more. Even in these 4 chapters, you are already pulling for them to get together. You know there will be issues and you keep turning the pages to find out about them and how they will play out. And you know this is a story about a couple but the other characters are woven in seamlessly and become integral to the story taking place. I am looking forward to reading the rest of Gentleman Sinner!

The beginning of this sample is intense! I don't know much about Izzy or Theo, but I can tell that I'm going to love them!

This review is for the first four Chapters of GENTLEMAN SINNER by Jodi Ellen Malpas (when I signed up to review this I did not realize it was just a tease of the book, boy was I disappointed when it showed up on my Kindle, but it was well worth it).

The first four chapters gives us a small glimpse into what is going to be an amazing book. This book is about Izzy and Theo (I love that name for a man it makes him sound either very distinguished or very dominate) and I think for this book Theo is going to an Alpha male all the way.

Izzy and Theo meet by chance in a dark alley when Izzy is trying to find the women that is calling for help, but when things take a turn for the worst in drops Theo, and in the four chapters that I got t0o read, he was there at every turn after that.

Four chapters was just enough to leave me wanting more of GENTLEMAN SINNER by Jodi Ellen Malpas and I cannot wait to read the rest of this book. I would give this four chapter tease 4/5 stars.

I was very taken in by the story, Izzy is quite fearless and yet seems to harbor a deep fear of something.....this was a very intriguing novella and I can't wait to read more

I'm a huge JEM fan and couldn't sign up fast enough for an arc of this book.

I want to start by saying that I absolutely adored Theo.
He had the possessiveness and trampling tendencies of Jesse Ward, the secrets like Miller Hart, the protectiveness of Jake Sharp and the gentle swooniness that was uniquely Theo.

I also loved how strong, independent and resilient Izzy was after her own secrets of her past.

The 2 together had the chemistry and rightness of the kind of couple we all love to read about.

What kept it from being a 5-star read like most of her books are for me was the lack of a slow-burn romance, the over the top way Theo pursued her and the lack of angst that a few points in the book could have expanded on to make our heart beat faster for them.

I will ALWAYS AUTOMATICALLY buy anything Jodi writes.
Heck, I even buy the audiobooks for "re-reads", but I don't think this one will have me re-reading immediately after finishing as I did with her This Man Trilogy.
