I enjoyed this book! Viv Mabuni intertwines personal stories and testimonies with the biblical account of Esther to talk about the importance of living with open hands and a willing heart. I have loved Viv's teaching at IF Gathering and really felt that same quality coming through in the book.

Written in a warm, approachable style, with plenty of anecdotes from the author's life and people she has met. Christian women will appreciate her gentle guidance and insights.

Reading Open Hands, Willing Heart: Discover the Joy of Saying Yes to God is the first exposure I've had to Vivian Mabuni, but it will not be my last! After reading this book, I plan to look into her previous offerings.

She writes in such a warm-hearted, down-to-earth manner, that it seems like having a discussion with a dear friend who wants to share her knowledge, wisdom and joy! Reading this book, I kept saying "yes, yes!! She really understands me". Her ability to connect with her readers is but one of her skills; sharing her experiences and her faith are others. I especially liked the questions posed for reflection at the end of each of the books' sections.

This book is wonderful to read on your own, but would also lend itself well to small-group studies/discussions.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Waterbrook Press for allowing me to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

I first learned of Vivian from IF Gathering and was excited to read this book as I am one who at times in struggles with "letting go and letting God. I was inspired by Mabuni's story ability to press in and trust God during times of uncertainty as opposed to grasping.

With a unique perspective, good story-telling, and Biblical truths, Mabuni writes about what it practically means and looks like to live with open hands and a willing heart in our day to day lives.
