This book by pastor and author Robby Galaty focuses on the Kingdom of God and how believers should understand this important concept so that they can live more fruitful lives today.

For those of us who live in the West, the concept of "kingdom" is hard to grasp.  But Gallaty does an admirable job in explaining what "kingdom" meant in biblical times, and how Christians today can apply that biblical understanding to their lives, thoughts and actions today.

The author is certainly educated and knowledgeable, but as a good pastor and author is able to breakdown this mindset in ways that are engaging and relatable for believers today.  Recommended.

Too often we equate Kingdom living and eternal life as things we get after death. But in Here and Now, Robby Gallaty explains that's not the case. 

"In order to match Jesus’ message, we may need to change how we present the gospel. Instead of asking people if they want to go to heaven after death, what if we offer them heaven today? Not 'You don’t want to go to hell when you die do you?' but 'Don’t you want to experience life today?'"

Gallaty shows that Jesus spoke about God's kingdom more than any other topic. And in present terms. "He envisioned God’s kingdom rule and reign in the present day on Earth, not just a day when believers would be ejected into the spiritual realm."

Because of the present-day reality of the Kingdom, Gallaty urges us to be active participants in living the Kingdom life, not passive observers. "It’s called the Great Co-Mission for a reason: God expects our involvement."

This book presents a solid argument that since Jesus is present in the world today, we should quit asking to get out of it. "His is not a salvation 'out of' the world; it is a rescue mission 'within' the world."
