I just... did not enjoy this book. I went into it thinking it would be light hearted chick lit with a smart side, which is one of my favorite genres (see: Marian Keyes, Helen Fielding, Jojo Moyes, Jenny Colgan), and it did try to be that, but for me it totally missed the mark. First of all, it completely dragged. Almost the entire storyline is made up of a series of increasingly incredible near misses that frankly just start to get boring after awhile. Second, there’s this undercurrent of... mysticism? Or something? Like the fascia release and the way they all sense that this or that is meant to be, and especially the way all her friends just magically know that he’s her soulmate for life? It’s very weird. The whole thing just feels... contrived. I couldn’t get into it and I didn’t feel invested in the characters or the outcome. Also, they finally do get together and then it’s straight on fade to black after one kiss and like, really? That’s all we get? I didn’t need full on smut but the rest of the relationships in the book were portrayed more sexually than this one. Also, I saw the Emma and Gaby twist coming almost from the beginning of the book. This one just did not hold my attention and I struggled to get through it. I did appreciate the author’s attempts at feminism, though.

OUR STOP absolutely blew me away! More gripping than any thriller, I was desperately turning pages to find out when Daniel and Nadia would meet. Devastatingly good storytelling.

I absolutely loved this debut novel from Laura Jane Williams. The characters were more 3D and realistic than we're used to getting in rom com novels, and I was rooting for them all right the way through. The plot was pacy enough to keep me hooked, and there was just the right level of romance to have me swooning without feeling sick. This is going to be the book everybody is reading this summer!

This is a cute, but predictable story of a missed love connection. Told from the viewpoints of Nadia and Daniel. Was a easy read, perfect for the beach. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I don't often read books in this genre, but I did enjoy 'Our Stop' - Nadia and Daniel were likeable characters and I really rooted for their relationship; Williams wrote the dual narrative well. However, I did find the book a bit slow going and frustrating at times, although maybe that was just my impatience. It was predictable in places, but I don't think that detracted from the story. An easy, light, enjoyable read, with some words of wisdom on one page which really stood out to me.

Sort but didn’t enjoy this one
Started off really well. It then I thought lost the trail a little
There didn’t really seem much to go on
Was disappointed as I wanted to enjoy it

This book gave me cuteness overload. My mother saw me reading it and was like, "why is your face doing that?" Apparently, I couldn't stop smiling this horribly wide, cheesy grin while I was reading. So...learn from my example and read this where your family can't mock you.

Nadia was like my spirit twin and Daniel was dreamy. He made me long for a guy to leave me secret notes...in a none creepy way. *holds up crossed fingers to ward off the creeps* Their romance was a whirl of humor and fun and I binged on this book for three hours straight, forsaking the need to pee until my bladder slapped me and demanded that I relieve it. Take note: hold off on the liquids until after you've read the book. Unless it's wine because that will only enhance your enjoyment...trust.

Would I recommend this book?
You bet I will. I can already think of tons of people that I know will like this story.

DISCLAIMER: I received an ARC (advanced reader copy) in exchange for an honest review.

This novel reads with a huge smile on one's face; contemporary, utterly enjoyable and engrossing, "Our Stop" takes the "will-they-won't-they" trope on a whole other level!
