Get in quick. Get out quicker. Wow! Want a fantastic start! My interest has been piqued by this sample. Even with just this snippet, I found myself pulled into the story and I was sorry to get to the end of the sneak peek. The main character has enough pluck and wits to make an engaging protagonist—I’m already rooting for her. Who killed the queens? What will happen to Keralie? I can’t wait to read more so I can unravel this mystery. |
Whoa, I'm so fascinated by this book. It's really promising, interesting that I'm really looking forward to reading the story. |
Whoa. The suspense. The snark. The dead queens. I am shook. I cannot wait to read the full book! Astrid Scholte is a legend! |
Ahhh this was such a tease! 40 pages is all I get 😭😭😭. This is one of my most anticipated reads of 2019 and this sneak peek on Edelweiss did not disappoint. I cannot wait to read the entire book. |

Title: Four Dead Queens Author: Astrid Scholte Publication Date: February 26th, 2019 Sneak Peek provided by publisher through NetGalley I am so glad that NetGalley had a sneak peek of this because I have been dying to here more about this book and make up my mind whether or not to preorder. The sneak peek had a few chapters and within those chapters you are thrown into the plot of murder and backstabbers! Honestly, this got me pumped for the release and I just can't wait to read the whole thing! |
This preview made me craving for more. It's well written, engaging and entertaining and the world building seems to be amazing. I look forward to reading the book hoping the rest will be as good as this preview. Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley |
From just the five chapters shown in the sneak peek, I enjoyed this book. While the idea of a gang that pickpockets isn't entirely new, Keralie is an interesting and intriguing female lead. Mackiel has also gone from a trustworthy friend to a possible foe, and I adore the mixture of mystery. I can't wait to read the whole thing. BUT, what I think made me rate it a little lower would be the writing style. At some point, it felt a little too much being shown at a specific sentence, and I was confused by the setting: there are interesting scientific developments like DNA tech, but this is set in a medieval age. It might be because I don't have the full book, but I don't know if this kingdom is set in the medieval age with advanced technology? I wish the sample expounded more on this. |

I just couldn't pass up the chance to get a sneak peek at Four Dead Queens. Now I NEED the full book now more ever! I got a tiny taste of Scholte's writing, the four Queens and Kera's story and it was enough to hook me! I will be very impatiently waiting until release day to get my fix! |
Wow, what a cliffhanger to be left on! I was already excited for this book to come out, and this preview has only increased the anticipation. The death of one of the promised Four Dead Queens and the introduction of Keralie and the nation of Quadara is enough of a sneak peek to get you counting down the days until February 26th. Long live the matriarchy! |
This sneak peak is what I have been waiting for over the past few months. Ever since I heard about this story I have been excited to read it. This excerpt does not disappoint. The plot is wonderfully unique. I am excited to delve into the back story and become enchanted by this world. |
